At some point I will try to compile (after editing) all or most of my request fics into two archives (one for sfw and one for nsfw) to put on ao3. And I’m going to try and put up some of the other smaller one-shot type things in there too I guess?
Longer things might get their own posting. Not sure yet. I’m still debating.
(Of course, I am swamped with work that I have trouble concentrating on so this might not be for a while. Sigh.)
How does one write Simon Blackquill? (This is a cry for help because I have no idea how and I'm trying to write a story that has been sitting in my folder for the past 7 months and I want to finish it but how does one write him my God... ;_;)
SO I know I’m still on like…unannounced hiatus as I try andfigure out what I want to do in the face of tumblr’s nsfw ban (which I hate, soI’m wrestling with my desire to not really use tumblr anymore out of protestvs. wanting to stay because I enjoy running this blog for the most part). BUT I saw this and knew I had to answer! :D
OKAY, so it’s hard for me to exactly say what might be bestsimply because him pre 5-5 and post 5-5 can be slightly different, so I willjust go over how I write him and stuff! Anddon’t worry; it took me a while to get his voice down myself, and even now Istill sometimes wonder if I’m writing him alright (but I look back at somethings in the beginning of my AA writing career and I think I’ve been able to getcloser to him than I was)!
Simon is odd because he honorable, snarky, a troll(ish), protective,emotional, scary, and soft all at once. He hasa very specific vision of honor and adheres to that very strictly – this samurai code he follows was his reasoning forwhy he was ready to sacrifice himself for Athena. In court, too, he has a specific set ofstandards and methods that he finds to be legitimate (which he allows) and just ‘tricks’(which he hates). He is very intolerantof things he finds dishonorable – hence why he did everything in his power (andwas successful) to make sure that Apollo was not able to use his perceptionability in court (until he found it a necessary evil to taking down thephantom). To him, this is just a trickand has no legal or scientific basis. Healso does not like the dirty tricks that Nahyuta sometimes plays – he getsinvolved in 6-4 partially because he found Nahyuta using Athena’s hearingability against her to be underhanded.

Either reblog it saying how nice you think the art is or don’t reblog it at all. Reblogging it and crapping all over an artist’s favorite character under their art is just a shitty thing to do, no matter how “right” you think you are.

So, tumblr has decided to take the worst possible route and basically is jumping off a cliff instead of actually addressing its problems in a constrictive way that would make the site legitimately better.
Apparently written works will be less policed - as a writer, apparently, I will be less affected - but I am not sure I can stick around here as my main platform while my visual artist peers are being purged left and right for things that are not at all bad. Tumblr has basically taken the extreme position of ‘all sexuality is bad’ and I find that rhetoric incredibly dangerous, especially considering the strange surge of purity culture/radfem notions that has taken hold of a large chunk of people on here.
It is a shame; you guys have been nothing but supportive of me while I deal with personal shit, and I hate to just up and leave - tumblr might be shooting itself in the foot (over and over to the point of crippling itself), but you guys have been excellent and are what keep me from just leaving entirely.
I’m going to try and see if I can get a pillowfort account, which is where people seem to be migrating en masse (aside from twitter). I’ll keep you all posted on that.
I’ve created a twitter with the same handle aceprosecuties, but I have not had the chance to really do much with it at the moment. My “main” twitter is heavily vld focused; dm me if you want to follow me there too (not that it would be hard to find me lol).
I’ll post more things on my ao3 rather than restrict them to tumblr.
I might make a curiouscat for requests - although I have not done them much lately, I do still like to try and do what I can for you guys! Again, I’ll keep you guys posted.

Hello! Just thought, I'd tell you that it's not very likely for our artist friends to get "purged" from tumblr. The changed guidelines say that they won't delete any blogs (not even those marked as explicit), "just" content. Also, they're only interested in real live photos/vids/gifs, not illustrations, so I'm reasonably sure most artists are out of any danger zone. Hope that helps easing the anxiety about this whole mess. Have a nice day!
Hey nonnie! Unfortunately I know a lot of people who already have been purged who cannot come back, and then other people’s content are getting flagged to hell and back and if all this content is getting flagged and will get taken down it basically cripples artists. And although they said they are interested in real life photos and stuff, I’ve seen a ton of illustrations get flagged and a ton of nsfw artists dealing with the brunt of it. (I have a few people who have had even their sfw stuff flagged; I’m not sure how this algorithm is working...I saw someone who had their little sketches of Garfield the cat just sitting around flagged as sensitive it has been bizarre. I think even the staff’s post about banning nsfw content has now been flagged, which is hilarious.)
I do appreciate you coming me with this info! Hopefully what will happen is closer to what you’re saying than what I am thinking/seeing - maybe after this initial backlash (and Verizon’s stock taking a huge nosedive), they will reevaluate this decision and/or look at how things are getting flagged.
It just sucks that users have been asking for tumblr to do something about the porn bots and actual CP rings on this site and their response is to just ban all nsfw content (where they decide what nsfw entails). And the irony is that I’ve still been seeing so many porn bots while fandom and sex education blogs are taking the biggest hits
