Sooooo… I was listening to Jealous by Nick Jonas and I just wanted to write something random. Don’t expect more fics coming from me though, this does not mean I am back at writing. I apologize to the ones waiting for another chapter of The Bachelorette, I’m having a blank right now.
This was written in a rush with mistakes and without much thought so please don’t expect too much lol
ENJOY!
You fidget nervously with a strand of your perfectly curled hair as you take another sip of your 3rd glass of champagne. No matter how many times you attended launch parties with your partner, you could never seem to get used to being around so many people.
You watch from the other side of the room as your fiancé walks around the reception hall, talking with his many employees from S.T.A.R. Labs, a big happy smile on his face. You can’t help but smile too as his dimples seem to have taken a permanent residence on his face. You can hear him laugh loudly and carelessly. Your heart flutters as you continue to look at how handsome Harry looked tonight, and how proud you were of him.
Finishing your glass in one big sip, you make your way towards him, dropping the empty flute on a waiter’s tray as they passed by. You adjust your dress properly as you approach him.
“…she’s always going to be my favourite. A future genius, I’m telling you.” You can hear him talk. “She has the looks and the brain. It’s still a mystery why no one has put a ring on it yet. I know I would’ve.”
You stop a few steps behind as you hear him talk. He doesn’t seem to have notice your presence yet, so you hesitate to interrupt or not.
“Oh stop it Dr. Wells, I am not all that.”
Your eyes move towards a tall blonde standing next to him. She is gorgeous, she definitely doesn’t look like she belongs with a group of scientist but rather with a bunch of Victoria Secret models. More importantly, her hand also doesn’t belong on your fiancé’s arm, but there it is.
“You know very well that you are. And so are you too.” His attention turns to another woman on his other side. A brunette, this time. She’s the definition of cute and adorable. Her eyes are literally throwing hearts and kisses at your fiancé. Someone’s got a crush. “The women in this company are going to ruin men later. How can we compete with brain AND beauty?”
You scoff silently behind him. Clearly, your fiancé has a few drinks too many and was now being a little too flirtatious for your liking. You take a step forward before stopping once again. You were not in the mood for drama, not on his special night, so you decided to turn back and make your way towards the bar. Free champagne will help you get through this.
Once you get to your 7th glass of champagne, Harry suddenly appears by your side.
“Having fun?” He asks as he orders a glass of water. Your only answer is an eye rolling. “What was that?” He smirks as you continue to give him the silent treatment. “I think this is enough for you, here, drink this.” He takes your glass of champagne away and replaces it with the glass of water.
“Hey!” You protest but he has already emptied your glass. “That was mine, I wasn’t done with it.”
“Well it’s gone now. Come on, sober up a little, the night is nearly over and I don’t want to have to carry you home.” He leans in to kiss your cheek but you lean away from him. “What’s the problem?”
“There is no problem.” You answer as you turn away from him.
“Clearly there is one. What did I do?” He walks around to face you again, but you look away.
“What didn’t you do.” You reply childishly.
“No. Why don’t you just go back to your beautiful and smart colleagues.”
“Aaaah. I see. You heard that. I was just complimenting my employees honey, you know that right?” His eyes are searching your face, but you refuse to look at him.
“Sounded like you were flirting.”
“Being nice is saying they are smart. No need to tell them they’re hot.”
“I never said they were hot.”
“Whatever.” Now that you think about it, maybe you were too tipsy.
“Don’t honey me. You left me alone most of the night while you were charming all the girls.”
“Hey- stop that is not true. I was also charming all the boys.” Harry tries to joke, but his humour is met with a glare from you. “Ok. I shouldn’t have left you alone. I was busy socializing with my employees. I am sorry, don’t be like this. I’ll stay with you for the rest of the night.”
You cross your arms and pout like a baby, which makes Harry break into a smile.
“Aren’t you just adorable when you’re jealous.”
“I am not jealous!” As you scoff, Harry takes that moment to lean in and kiss your lips. His hands automatically goes to your wrists to hold them in place, knowing you would try to push him away. You sigh heavily against his face, your eyes wide open and staring at him. When he finally backs away, you pull your tongue out at him. He smirks and leans in again to kiss you, but this time you kiss him back. Harry lets go of your wrists to wrap his arms around your waist and pull you closer, and you break away from the kiss to hug him instead.
“Fine. I was jealous.” You concede.
“I know. You get jealous when you drink.”
“I wonder if you’re also going to be jealous when you’ll be tipsy on our wedding night. Are you going to fight the bridesmaids? The flower girl?”
You roll your eyes and hug him tighter.
“…I can’t wait to marry you Y/N. I love you.” Harry adds.
