I’ve thought about giving up. Funny how it’s always an option. The easiest one, even. I’ve thought about turning my back from the things that I wanted do just because I was scared of failing, of making mistakes, of disappointing. But I’ve thought about being stagnant, too. Because if I were to drop everything just because they scare me, even without trying at all, then I would never learn, I would never grow up. I would never be brave like a warrior. And for that I knew that if I insist on being confined in these squares, always stuck with what I already know, I knew I would always be a step short from becoming that version of myself whom I would be proud of; of becoming someone whom my five-year-old self would look up to, whom she’d consider her hero. And God knows I don’t want to fail her.
So get out of bed, it’s a brand new day. Go on, for you have work to do.
