↬ singing in the rain ( sumin & nara )

junior year in cheongnam ✦ @247nara

even for a smart student like sumin, classes could be really boring at times. they became less interesting when you were more invested in something else, or even someone, she would say. she had been looking at the time for more than she should, one hand propping her chin as the girl glanced towards her side, smiley eyes focused on only one person. geum nara. the picture of them going on cute dates after school couldn’t make her stop smiling, and sumin could only hope nobody would realize how stupid she actually looked like at this moment.

and when the bell finally rang, sumin quickly grabbed her bag and ran towards nara, pulling a chair to sit in front of the girl so she was facing her while nara packed her things. “hey, wanna go eat some cakes and milkshakes? it’s on me, i promise. just come with me!” of course, she would buy the whole world for nara, as cheesy as it might sound like, she was serious. placing both arms on the table, she rested her chin on her hands and looked up at nara with a childish pout, hoping the girl would agree. “i have something to give to you too, so you gotta come with me, whether you want it or not.” she nodded. “i missed you so much.”

she had been thinking about them a lot these days. it made her recalled the first time they saw each other, when she still had no idea nara would be such an important character in her life. it almost felt like a dream though. nara came like an angel sent from heaven. sumin was in need of someone to lean on after the scandal of her clique broke out, and nara was just there at the right time. she believed this was no coincidence, that maybe nara was her true destiny. surely you’re my destiny, it shines fully in my heart. oh, my. she was whipped as fuck for nara.

Oh, so it was one of those days. Instead of cunnilingus and fun times there would be bourbon and harmful nostalgia - sadly, like most nights, more often than not when Yongguk was alone with his thoughts.
It’s called sleeping for more than you should.” He answers to that first statement with somewhat of an biographic knowledge. Sleeping is the only tool when you don’t want to die but needs to stop existing a certain amount of time. It’s the closest he could get to it, anyway.
He lets go of her foot and throws himself off the bed to pour Sumin a drink from the liquor cabinet. “And you just wish time could slow a little until you have things figured out before you need to get out of bed again.” He smiles to her over his shoulder. “So what will you take, a tiny bottle of vodka or a tiny bottle of whiskey?”

“are you saying that i slept more than i should?” she asked, sounding a tad bit offended. “that doesn’t sound so bad. maybe i’m just making up for those times i’ve wasted not being able to sleep at nights.” sumin always had difficulties to sleep since she was young, but it had grown to be worse in her senior year in cheongnam. sometimes it was frustrating, for that it affected her daily activity. sleeping pills couldn’t help her for long, but she couldn’t seem to find another way that would work better now. it sucked not being able to sleep anyways.

her eyes followed yongguk as he walked towards the liquor cabinet. maybe all sumin needed was time. but not as in more time, sumin had enough time in this world to have things figured out, she just wished she had the ability to rewind time now. "what if you still can’t figure things out and suddenly you’re awake again? how long are we supposed to sleep then?” maybe we would have to sleep forever then. usually sumin would only keep all these thoughts to herself, and yongguk was nowhere close to a friend, yet here she was telling him all this as if he was her best friend, despite whatever they had between them. “whiskey, please.”

↬ starry night ( sumin & qian )

2 years ago ✦ @247qian

the more she tried to forget about the tragedy, the stronger her memory became when it came to this particular incident. how could she ever forget it? sumin might always be reminded of it, and she was fucking sure the guilt would haunt her until the rest of her life. she knew it was all her fault, even if her father tried to convince her otherwise. “about the news, i’ve already taken care of it, so don’t worry. they won’t mention anything about you.” sumin could care less about the family’s reputation, but she absolutely didn’t need to see her friend (who was already dead by the time she woke up) took the blame when everything was clearly her fault. they were too happy, and happiness wasn’t meant to last long. sumin should have seen it coming. maybe if she didn’t bug eunbi to come with her that night, she could still be able to see her today.

it was only her first week back in seoul, but she had already been admitted to the hospital due to sleep deprivation. coming back to this place seemed like a bad idea, but it wasn’t like sumin wanted to stay forever in australia either. everything looked way too familiar here, it made her feel hard to breathe every time she looked at the streets. maybe it was time for her to get over it, but she just couldn’t, not when the guilt was still eating her from inside. the city looked very beautiful at night, it would be a waste if she couldn’t enjoy it anymore. and so she tried, hoping that for once in her life that night, she would be able to admire the night again. everything was fine, until she saw a figure on the other side of the road. wait, wasn’t that eunbi?

right, that’s really lee eunbi. sumin couldn’t believe her eyes, but she was happy regardless to see her friend again. “eunbi-ah!” she called out, trying to cross the road, her eyes not leaving the female for that she was afraid she would miss her if she looked away. the vehicles on the road had to stop abruptly upon seeing sumin’s hasty run towards the other side, sounds of car honking filled the air as she passed by them. “wait! i’m coming,” sumin kept on saying, but the more she ran towards eunbi, the farther the girl had been from her. “no, wait, please don’t go!” it took her a moment to realize that a car was coming towards eunbi---suddenly her voice was no longer heard even when she was screaming, and sumin was finally brought back to reality when she felt someone shaking her body. “no---where are you---come back! eunbi-ah!”

There wasn’t much else he could to after that beside sitting up too, finally getting rid of the too warm duvet prison he was under.
Yongguk shook his head, fingers combing silky black hair back. “I have no idea but I bet you’re gonna tell me.” He was shirtless and half hard but that’s something he’s gonna have to deal with later, most likely by himself.
The motel room was nice enough. All white and minimalistic, soft lights for an intimate atmosphere, huge fluffy pillows and a huge window with a view framing the glowing city down there. Sumin makes sense in this overly sterile decor, nothing too personal showing, nothing too cozy, just comfortable enough to feel right, but even after his services were no longer needed, Yongguk grabs her skinny foot and rubs his thumbs on the sole, giving her an impromptu massage.

tired dark brown eyes widened slightly at his words, was he for real? she couldn’t tell. “that’s a really good idea,” sumin mused with a hint of sarcasm. “you could have at least tried to guess it because that would be better, but nevermind.” she didn’t even know why did she expect him to, after all nobody liked to play a guess game like that. lately she had been thinking a lot than usual, not like it was something new. she just wanted to stop for a while.

“do you ever get tired of living, but you also don’t really want to die?” the question came out of nowhere. “like you’re just fucking confused the whole time, and you don’t even know what you want.” a sigh managed to escape from her lips, her gaze going down as she watched yongguk massaging her foot. sumin never really had a purpose in her life, not after she lost her mother.

“and to answer my own question, alcohol will make me feel better.”

As she heard her question, Asano just gave up to try. 「 Look, if you are one of those crazy gir- 」 So Aya stopped and in a flesh she got the answer. Laughing out loud. How could she has not noticed before? 「 I think we just broke the might rule of this whole thing. 」 Aya finished, swalloing the entire sweet she got seconds before.

it was all fun and games, they said. it was fun, maybe, but sumin wasn’t up to play any games at the moment. she just wanted to have some great time here, it’s as simple as that, although she doubted she would, since happy moments didn’t last forever and there's always someone or something she believed would ruin the night. sumin was surrounded by too much sorrow to even think there would be a slight chance they would have real fun here. not to her, at least.

she chuckled upon hearing aya’s reply. for all the time she had known the woman, she should have been able to tell that aya would show up at a place like this. aya was indeed a party girl, so was sumin, although she wasn’t as sociable as her friend would be. nodding in agreement, she took a bite of the muffin in her hand. “you’re right, i should have known better about that.” sumin flashed a cheeky smile as a response to her gratitude for the compliment.

about to take second bite to her muffin, she stopped abruptly when she caught the word crazy coming out from aya’s mouth, anticipating what she had to say at the moment. sumin wouldn’t deny, she was indeed crazy at times, so aya couldn’t possibly be mistaken. a tad bit confused when aya didn’t continue her words, sumin waited until she had spoken again. sumin was the one who laughed this time, finding aya’s words to be amusing. aya was right, but who cared?

“fuck the rules,” she said. “rules are meant to be broken anyways.” although sumin came with a mask on, that didn’t mean she would just obey the rules. there were no rules. “the only rule here is to have fun, and i’m about to get mad because i haven’t got any yet.” continued to eat her muffin, she shifted her attention back to aya. “how's your night going, babe? i hope you’re not having fun without me, because that’s really unfair." she laughed. “just kidding.”

Yongguk pulls the duvet off his head. “Okay. It’s fucking -13º outside but I’m dying down here.” His face is all sweaty, his jaw is sore and he pretty much can’t feel his tongue anymore at this point. One thing he knows for a fact is that he is not bad at eating someone out.
He tries again, kissing the inside of Sumin’s thigh, petting her smooth flat stomach with his other hand. “Are you sure you’re in the mood for this? You didn’t even try to kick me.” Other thing that he knows for a fact is that Sumin is not a fan when he gets all condescending like that, but maybe he’s just feeling more lovey-dovey tonight. “I can try the finger thing you like.”

her eyes were kept shut, sumin ignored his words and chose to enjoy the pleasure he’s giving in between her legs instead. he was right though. it was freezing outside, yet it felt nothing like that in here. not when his touch made her feel hot, when his kisses managed to melt her right away. she finally opened her eyes when his question came up, and the comment that followed after, which she found quite amusing. propping herself with both elbows so that she could look at yongguk, taking a moment to watch him before she could respond.

“do you like to be kicked that much?" sumin asked. “i can definitely try to kick you if that’s what you want.” with that being said, she pushed yongguk with one foot, trying to get him off her so she could sit up on the bed. “now get the fuck off, i think i just lost my mood.” that was nothing too uncommon for sumin to suddenly change her mind like that, after all she only did what she wanted to. she ran her fingers through her messy hair and breathed out a sigh, looking over to him. “do you know what would make me feel better?” he better does.

chocolate love ( csm ✩ rl )

They won’t remember, not even if their lives depended on it. Riah was sure of it, because she knew of how free flowing the alcohol had been and still continued to be. Every guest downing various liquids, hoping to cure their boredom and forget any woes; even more remarkable were the people who used booze to incite mischief and intrigue into their lives. If only for one night.
Chocolate champagne, now there’s a thought. Riah mused, laughing as Sumin described the drink in her very inexperienced and less than elegant words. “We should try some. I wonder if they have any stock?”

maybe it was just sumin---she doubted she was the only one---she had a little trouble recalling what she had said or done before once she had sobered up. she probably wouldn’t remember about buying a shit ton of chocolates when she woke up tomorrow. perhaps she wouldn’t even remember that she ever attended this boring party tonight too.

“do you think they have some?” her eyes lit up almost instantly at the thought. “that would be awesome if they do!” she beamed. “logically they have to, since this is a valentine party, and what’s better than chocolate champagne? nothing. not even roses could beat that!” right.

shut up & dance ( csm ✩ kji )

when the music changes and she tells him to go find a partner, he almost follows suits, his eyes glancing around at all the many beautiful gowns and masks, each of them just as soulless and empty as the next. what is he supposed to do? pick a girl based on whether she matches his suit or not? he cringes and sighs, grabbing sumin’s hand and dragging her out onto the floor, regardless of her wishes, one hand on her back to lead her as gracefully as possible. “do what i want, huh?” he chuckles, moving in front of her, his hand holding hers tightly, no room for escape without violence. “i’m not just going to abandon my date that easily, you’ll have to find some better way of getting rid of me.”

honestly, she did plan to run whenever she got the chance. it felt hard to stay, considering that this party was hella boring, and for some unexplainable reason she just couldn’t bring herself to drink more, just because jongin was around. she was supposed to watch him, so her being drunk wouldn’t really work, although she was pretty sure jongin could take care of himself. this idea of having to protect him at this party sounded ridiculous, yet here she was anyways.

she was ready to step aside, ready to turn around and walk away when he was busy dancing, but too bad her plan didn’t really turn out well. slightly taken aback by his sudden grab on her hand, sumin followed him regardless, a soft sigh leaving her lips as soon as she realized she couldn’t do anything about this. sumin shouldn’t have told him to do what he wanted, because obviously he would, and that consisted of her having to stick by his side for a longer time.

“first of all, i’m not your date. second, you should just abandon me and find someone who can dance with you, because i clearly can’t.” slow dance wasn’t her forte. “and i won’t,” she added quickly, her expression blank. “i’m giving you a chance to have fun here.... you probably don’t wanna miss it, so yeah. maybe you’re the one who should get rid of me.” sumin wasn’t sure if that was meant to be a joke or she was actually serious when she said it. maybe she was.

real friends ( csm ✩ kjy )

(...)
Standing with his mouth a tad agape, it felt farcical and surreal to wait for his turn to talk around her. Laughing aloud lightheartedly at her gesture, Jiyong quickly waved his hand, as if to dismiss her little apology. “I had some trouble finishing that one,” he chortled jocundly and gave an accordant nod. Then a single word echoed shrilly inside his head. Friends. Ignoring the abstract sound of it, he grinned widely and amicably patted her shoulder. “Of course! How could you doubt that?” His voice was honeyed; he wouldn’t let the bluff shine through. As a waiter was passing by, Jiyong settled the drained glass on the tray and got two full ones. “We’re real friends. The realest. Others envy us,” Stating with feigned affability, he passed her the fizzy drink. “Bottoms up, dear friend.”

it was odd, but sumin actually felt like all these people were her friends. they all looked at least a little familiar in her eyes now, and that’s why she thought she should approach them and say something. wasn’t that what friends do when they meet? upon hearing jiyong’s words, her lips curled into a satisfied smile almost instantly. “really? i’m so glad i could help you with that!” her voice was bright, unlike how it usually was when she talked to jiyong. she could recall the both of them agreeing on being friends not long ago, so it's safe to assume that they really were.

she told herself she couldn’t be wrong about this, even if her sober self wasn’t sure if that was a good decision to make. for now she would just focus on them being friends, that’s all. a few giggles left her lips when jiyong confirmed their friendship. that was the only thing she needed to hear now, and her night had just became way better with her precious friend’s presence. “of course, of course. i just need you to confirm it,” sumin said, nodding once. “you’re right! we’re the realest friends here. i bet people would kill to be like us.”

taking the drink from jiyong, she clinked her glass against his before emptying it in just one go. “they do have some great alcohol in here to be honest,” she whispered as if it wasn’t meant to be heard by others. “i wish this party won’t end so i can drink as much as i can. and oh, i hope they won’t run out of alcohol too. nothing is better than free alcohol, right?” jiyong would agree with her. “and oh my god, they got really good desserts too!" she exclaimed, suddenly bringing a hand to cover her mouth as she leaned closer to jiyong. “don’t tell anyone, but i had like the whole big plate of chocolate cake to myself just now. i’m not lying, that was fucking heaven.”

food party ( csm ✩ myg )

the producer let out an undignified laugh, eyes crinkling with mirth. taking two glasses from the cabinet, he pours two shots for himself and sumin. cheers to that, and with a swig, his own throat burned pleasantly with the taste of cheap alcohol. his mother surely would’ve fainted -or something equally as ridiculous- at the prospect of her younger son damaging his throat with these types of drinks. why did we both decide showing up to that was a good idea anyway? i’ve got everything we need for a damn good time right here.
image
her eyes twinkled in excitement upon seeing the drink, she took it carefully in her hand before emptying it in one go. that felt so fucking good. “you’re so right.” she agreed with him, despite knowing well why she was there in the first place. even so, it still wasn’t a good idea. “i’d say i was drunk when i made that decision, but maybe i was. i wouldn’t go there if i was on my right mind, right?” sumin let out a laugh. “at least it’s not too late for us to have a good time now.”

They were clearly breaking the rules, not that either woman cared. Riah amused at Sumin’s behavior, it had hardly been an hour since the masquerade party started yet here Sumin was —already bored and making plans for the next day. Riah had no clue what she would be doing in the next 24 hours, the last party she went to; the heiress ended up drunk with bed head in Jiyong’s apartment.
“Sure, if either of us can remember later, let’s do that.” Riah laughed, toasting to the aforementioned plans.

“of course we’ll remember that! i’m two hundred percent sure we’ll do. how could we not?” she wasn’t very sure too, to be honest. maybe they could still remember it now, or for the next few minutes. but she doubted they would still have that in their mind for the next hours. at least not in sumin’s head, not once she had gotten hold of the alcohol now. she downed the liquid all in one big gulp, letting it burn her throat as she grinned cheekily at the female.

“chocolate goes well with anything..... but have you ever tried chocolate champagne before? i heard it does exist.” she threw a fit of giggles at the thought. “very chocolatey indeed.”

they said love was beautiful. to cha sumin, it was nothing

maybe it used to be something beautiful in her life once upon a time before. but that was long, long ago---she wasn’t sure if she still remembered how it felt like, how love felt like. there was no more love left in her body when her mother had died. as if her feelings had turned numb by then, she could hardly recall when was the last time she had loved, or been loved. why would people think love was so important? love got her heart broken. love made her break hearts.

love was what made her kill. to cha sumin, love was a curse

“is this when you say, what was it again, ‘young love is beautiful?’” she blurted out of nowhere, slowly making her way to stand next to this tall stranger, who also seemed to be staring at the same couple she was looking at just now. “how disgusting.” her snarky remark came out like a whisper, it was soft but loud enough for the other to hear it. “it sucks that i’m stuck here. how’s the party for you, buddy? it’s pretty stupid to me if you ask, and so are all these people here.”

tonight was probably the only time ( or at least one of those times ) she had talked to people the most, the only time she wasn’t trying to avoid people. all thanks to alcohol. she probably would regret all this if she started to sober up, but that’s if she even remembered any of this. it’s a great night---well, after she had drank a little too much---so she was just living it while it lasted. after all, this chance didn’t come often, she had to grab it while she could.

after drinking so much, sumin had started to get hungry. luckily not many was around the food table, which meant she was going to have it all to herself. but before she could take any of the food, her gaze fell onto something that didn’t seem too uncommon in her eyes. it was a tattoo. two flying ravens. she had the exact same tattoo on the side of her right hand, and so was this one. she knew other people might have the same tattoo, but her eyes couldn’t fool her now.

she was confident that this was aya, or at least this tattoo did convince her anyways. looking up to meet the person’s face, her smile grew wider upon recognizing those familiar looking of lips. “i didn’t know you’ll come here,” she mused, reaching for a chocolate muffin. “that outfit looks really good on you by the way.” sumin was wearing gloves, therefore there was no way aya could see her tattoo. it would be hilarous if she couldn’t figure out who it was.

“i’ll ask who you are but that’s not so fun. do you know who i am?”

escapades | sumin & nara

Then she spotted. Short hair with the usualblack in black that in her eyes, made Sumin stand out so much. Approaching the tall figure, Nara was stricken with another what if that she just decided to brush off. She could always blame the alcohol anyway. She placed a hand in (supposedly) Sumin’s low back to first get her attention as Nara moved to be face to face with the masked person, “Would you mind getting some company?”

it was no wonder that all sumin had been doing at the party was drinking. after a few too much drinks, she had started to feel a little dizzy, but she’s happy. she felt happy, and that’s the only thing that mattered. cha sumin wasn’t even a friendly person to begin with, but she was going around greeting people here and there as if everyone was her friend. if people hadn’t figured it out that it was sumin, maybe they would never do. well, maybe they would never do.

after bidding goodbye to this random guy she had ended up talking to just now, sumin was left alone for a while. she took another glass of champagne from the waiter nearby and gave him a playful wink, sipping on the alcohol as she looked around. it was an interesting sight indeed. sumin tried to guess who was who behind all those masks, but with everyone being dolled up into someone different---including sumin herself, of course---it was actually hard.

upon feeling the sudden touch on her low back, sumin was distracted and her gaze settled on this beautiful stranger now standing before her eyes. a laugh left her lips when she heard the question. her lips were pulled into a cheesy smile before she responded with, “i wouldn’t mind a beautiful company.” she's beautiful. even if a mask was covering half of her face now, sumin could tell that she’s beautiful, and that’s when she realized that her beauty seemed familiar.

hadn’t she seen that pair of lips somewhere? she would be lying if she said she didn’t know it was nara, with such identifiable height, she was confident that she’s right about this one. “i’ve been waiting for quite a while. did my princess get lost on her way?” she paused for a second. “ah, she must be.” she nodded slowly, her lips forming a childish pout. “i’m sorry it’s so hard to find me, but i’m glad you’ve finally found your way.” she giggled. “you look beautiful, babe.”
