Every breath is a breakthrough

Watched the RWRB movie with my partner last night, and man do I have THOUGHTS ABOUT IT (in random order, don't come for me, I have ADHD)

So basically, my movie date was supposed to be us enjoying the movie, it turned out to be me and my partner screaming at the screen and then complaining to my metamour.

The Red White and Royal Blue movie was as if they took the Novel, put it in an AI text summarizer online, and then used that summary for the movie plot.

So. Red, White, and Royal Blue.

The movie.. it had me going in the first half… and then realized they’d only gotten halfway through the book and only had 20 minutes left to cram in the rest.

The book is better. If you haven’t read the book, watch the movie. Then read the book. If you’ve read the book.. watcher beware.

Guys if Percy Jackson got a movie time ago, which was really bad, and is not getting a tv show, which looks accurate, we might get the same with rwrb

did they replace rafael luna with miguel. did they seriously replace rafael luna, an important older lgbt character who showed alex u can be gay and proud and in politics, with some shitty guy just to make a love triangle. are you SERIOUS????

i really wish rwrb had been a mini-series

I am so angry about the pacing of this movie. It didn't build the intensity like the book did. I didn't care about the characters enough by the time things started getting heavy. They could've and, imo, should have done it better.

Not to be a hater but the rwrb movie was a crime against humanity i am a hater

Im sure it's fine as a stand alone movie. My mom has enjoyed it! But it is NOT Red White and Royal Blue. They destroyed a majority of the premise and the pacing and the intensity. They took out important character and turned it into it's own entity. I wish it wasn't related to the book at all.

every character in heartstopper has an unbelievable, almost comical level of love and compassion towards other people while thinking of themselves as a dogshit smear marring god's green earth

god someone give joe and kit an award for that scene in episode eight

they’re both so amazing and did such a good job this season with the deeper more serious topics

What's extra wild about the arcs with Harry and Ben this season is that even though neither of them are forgiven, Harry legitimately had much more growth than Ben did. His behavior changes from part of the problem to part of the solution if only in one instance, and his apology is an actual apology, including what he did wrong and plans to change in the future. But Ben, just like last season, spends the season lashing out at others instead of dealing with his issues, this time with Imogen instead of Charlie, and just like last season, his apology isn't an apology but a vehicle for his own gain. Most of all, while Harry isn't overflowing with accountability, he does acknowledge that what he did was wrong and doesn't scapegoat anyone else, while after everything Ben still doesn't seem to see the severity of what he's done and is still blaming other people. Ben uses his victimhood as a shield, and it's a brilliant moment of growth for Charlie that he sees right through it.
