Do you know of any canon-divergence fic where Peggy and Bucky end up hardcore spy bros during the cold war era? Love picturing them as really tight partners who may or may not have been in love with the same dead guy. I really enjoyed espionage-centric fics like 4 Minute Window and I was hoping for something in a similar vein. Thanks!

These are the closest I can think of, though neither is cold war era:

They’ve been steveandbucky since they were kids, but that ignores the parts of their lives that don’t wrap around each other, that never did. (Bucky needs to figure out who he is, just him, with or without Steve.)
“Peggy Carter, back from 1951,” the nurse laughed.  “She Elvis sometimes too?”
Peggy is transported to a broom closet in 2013, Steve freeclimbs El Capitan, and Bucky turns up when he is needed most.

Readers, if you know of any cold war spy bros fics with Peggy and Bucky, please send them in! That’s an awesome premise and I want to read ALL THE FICS.

I feel like a subtitle to Captain America: Civil War could be Bucky and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

Natasha: Hey Cap, I think Tony’s going through some rough stuff, probably has PTSD, and could likely use a sympathetic ear, maybe you could talk to him?

Steve: P… Punch him? Natasha: Hey Tony, I think Cap has some legitimate concerns about these accords and would really like to hash them out with you. Tony: Right, Punch him. Got it.
