Midnight Signals

I spent years taking pics, saving and screenshotting images, memes, and whatever I saw that made me think,

".̵̳͇́̐̈́̏͘͘.̷̧̧̡͍͕͖̟̭̇͂̊̏̐.̸̨̜̲͖̜̠̇̚͝ would like this" or "this is so .̵̳͇́̐̈́̏͘͘.̷̧̧̡͍͕͖̟̭̇͂̊̏̐.̸̨̜̲͖̜̠̇̚͝"

Waiting for the day to come that I just might be able to share them all. And I guess maybe that day did come. But I was completely oblivious to it. Came and went, came and went. Maybe I forgot about all those little treasures. Buried and lost under thousands of distractions.

I only remember now because I found myself saving an image with the immediate thought,

"This is something .̵̳͇́̐̈́̏͘͘.̷̧̧̡͍͕͖̟̭̇͂̊̏̐.̸̨̜̲͖̜̠̇̚͝ would do"

I realize I don't listen to music very often anymore. And then when I do, it hits so hard I can barely breathe.

Slow Me

For 3 or 4 nights in a row I had vivid dreams about you. Just hanging out or talking. The second to last one, I was chasing you through a labyrinth where you kept leaving me little clues until I found you. A tall and wide concrete maze of rooms and hallways lit by flat panel florescent lights. Clusters of people here and there dressed in Sunday clothes.. or maybe business attire. The lower floors is where I followed you to, where the dress was more casual and the large foyers more dimly lit and vaguely smelled of smoke and herbs. Laying across a dark sofa, a small figure in black clothing. I crept up and called your name softly, "is that you?"

"No"

"Oh, sorry"

"That's okay, I'm not mad at you"

But of course it was you. I gave an uncertain, dopey smile, and you smiled back before I woke up.

The last dream we said goodbye. You drove up to my house, and we hugged and chatted in the driveway. All smiles and laughs. You said you were going on a long trip and didn't know if or when you'd be back. I wished you luck.

By the time I came back here to send you pictures of the early spring, you were already gone.

I dunno why I'm still terrified of you. I think about you always. But my fingers hesitate to even check on you, as though I'll be punished without having some kind of permission to do so.

Actually idk why I said, "things can move forward again" cuz nothing has been sitting still. Even tho I didn't have a corporate job I was still working a lot. Things were still progressing. I'm really just gonna have money to invest in everything now.
