• Be OFF anon when sending a trick or treat
• READ THE PORCHLIGHT POST of EACH creators and follow their rules
• Always make sure to check DIRECTLY on the creator’s page that their porchlight is still on before sending a trick or treat
• Send IMs rather than asks when the creators are okay with it, so you can avoid hitting the dreaded ask limit!
• To know who has their porchlight on, either check the tag #porchlight on and/or consider turning your notifications on for the creators you want the gifts of so you don’t miss them!
• Say please, say thank you, and most importantly, be PATIENT. The creators may be dealing with hundred of asks/IMs, it might take them a while to answer!
• If you’re worried your ask got eaten, wait before sending another one in, give a chance to the creators, maybe they haven’t had time to answer yet. Sometimes they’ll even make an announcement to say they’ve answered all the asks, and you can then send a new one.
• Add a spoopy pun if you feel like it!
• Private thank yous are always appreciated, but don’t feel bad if the creator doesn’t answer you. They might be swamped in asks, but they’ve seen it, and they appreciate the gesture, believe us!
• If you don’t like the treats, just don’t download it, no need to tell the creator! Not all treats are for everyone and that’s perfectly fine!
Consider making a Schedule post that includes what days you’ll be active, what your timezone is, and any other relevant information to help out your followers.
What to include in your porchlight on posts:
- How should the trick-o-treaters contact you (IMs or asks)
- What should they do if your links may include tricks
- How long will your porchlight be on & your timezone
- If you give multiple gifts in the same day/weekend, put numbers on them and say which gift they’ll be getting for this particular porchlight on post.
- Whether the link to your treats (or tricks) may include jumpscares.
- Are the treats exclusive to Simblreen or will they be released later on?
How to tag your porchlight on post:
- The game (#ts4 #ts3 #ts2)
- #porchlight on
- #simblreen and #simblreen 2021

What to include in your porchlight off posts:
When your porchlight might be back on (and your timezone) and whether it will be a new treat, or the same one.

Please consider pinning your porchlight posts for the duration of simblreen (on or off) so they are at the top of your blog and easy to find.
- Include preview pictures of your treats on your private post/page, so people know what they are downloading. If it’s cc, consider also mentionning the polycount, or at least whether it’s high poly (over 10k) or not.
- Do not put your gifts behind paywalls and early access. That goes against the whole free-giving spirit of Simblreen.
- If you don’t think you’ll have time to answer trick-o-treaters, consider doing a scavenger hunt, a riddle, a hidden page, or anything else that crosses your mind!
HAVE. FUN. If you’re not enjoying the event, if it’s too stressful, it’s also perfectly okay to just release your gifts publicly. You don’t have to participate every day, and YOU choose when your porchlight is on or not. Don’t put pressure on yourself unnecessarily!
