Sophie here, used to write a lotta fanfiction back in the day (you might know me as itsjustsaladthoth or beammeupscottey from way back when), now moved on mostly to original stories. Although I still read a lot of fanfics!

You can find my website for all things books and short stories here.

Most of my fanfics are here on tumblr, although I haven’t updated my masterlists in forever, so you’re better off finding most of that stuff over on ao3 - this way, please.

I’m Austrian, so I might sometimes post in German on here - especially if it’s about books since I write and publish bilingually. But most of my posts will still be in English.

I also try to stream on Twitch twice a week - if you’re into gaming and coworking, this is where you’ll wanna go.

Might post a little more about my original stories on here, but I gotta jump over my own shadow for that. So, bear with me 😅

anyway the actual point of fandom is to inspire each other. reading each other's fics and admiring each other's art and saying wow i love this and i feel something and i want to invoke this in other people, i want to write a sentence that feels like a meteor shower, i want to paint a kiss with such tenderness it makes you ache, i want to create something that someone else somewhere will see it and think oh, i need to do that too, right now. i am embracing being a corny cunt on main to say inspiring each other is one of the things humanity is best at and one of the things fandom is built for and i think that's beautiful

Look yall I’m just gonna be transparent here.

I have zero patience for cliques and childish behavior. I just want to fangirl with people who love the same shit I do and write smutty little stories. If that’s your vibe that’s awesome we can totally be friends. If you are the type to talk shit about people just because you have nothing better to do or because you are jealous of someone else I need you to gtfo of my space, I am halfway through my thirties and I’ve done some living, childish drama is something that stays in my past and I won’t let it mar my present or future.

Some of yall need to grow up. Touch grass. Go buy a vibrator to release all that bs you clearly have built up.

on a more fun note, i had my first simulator flight in a Eurofighter yesterday and it was AWESOME. but i was exhausted after the 60 minutes were up cause it's a LOT of mental input.

The TGM fandom is on fire, but I’m not going anywhere. I’ll still be writing and sharing my fics, but rest assured, I do not tolerate doxxing. There is no excuse, nothing, that will ever justify doxxing.

Y'all, the world is sleeping on what NASA just pulled off with Voyager 1

The probe has been sending gibberish science data back to Earth, and scientists feared it was just the probe finally dying. You know, after working for 50 GODDAMN YEARS and LEAVING THE GODDAMN SOLAR SYSTEM and STILL CHURNING OUT GODDAMN DATA.

So they analyzed the gibberish and realized that in it was a total readout of EVERYTHING ON THE PROBE. Data, the programming, hardware specs and status, everything. They realized that one of the chips was malfunctioning.

So what do you do when your probe is 22 Billion km away and needs a fix? Why, you just REPROGRAM THAT ENTIRE GODDAMN THING. Told it to avoid the bad chip, store the data elsewhere.

Sent the new code on April 18th. Got a response on April 20th - yeah, it's so far away that it took that long just to transmit.

And the probe is working again.

From a programmer's perspective, that may be the most fucking impressive thing I have ever heard.

Basically, the unthinkable has happened, and a member of our community was doxxed and lost her job because of it. I can speculate as to what exactly happened and what the cause behind it was, however, I don’t have concrete proof.

I will say, that there is no amount of petty drama or argument related to fandom that is so serious that it warrants this type of behavior. The lives of others is nothing to play about, I don’t care how mad you are about an argument. There are lines you just don’t cross, and I didn’t think that needed to be said, but here we are.

Now, I will say that I’ve made some of my dearest friends in this fandom and I feel like there are more creators on here that are kind and accepting than not, you just have to know how to treat people. Unfortunately, no matter where you go, there will be people who are so insecure in themselves that they have to tear other people down in order to try and make themselves feel better. Cheesy, I know, but it’s true.

I have found some of the most amazing people in this fandom, but you’ve gotta have thick skin and the ability to just tune it out and be willing to block to protect your peace when it comes to those who are…not so great.

I think, overall, our fandom is pretty great. Most people are kind and encouraging, and if you stick around long enough, you’ll figure out who those people are. I’ve said it before (and got yelled at for saying it), but the TGM fandom is what I would consider a “starter” fandom. It’s a small fandom where you can learn fandom etiquette if you ask fandom olds for advice and heed it, and for a lot of people here, it’s their first dip into the fandom experience.

But, I digress. Every fandom will have its ups and downs, and this one is no exception. Right now we’re in quite a doozy of a down, but I think the community will rally in the end, but who knows. Maybe I’m just being an optimist
