Joaquin’s face made a slight wince watching her struggle to keep her leg still, and he took a knee beside the bench. “Ah, I’m gonna say yeah, you definitely shouldn’t have done that much, but-” Since she’s already here and there was no taking back the extra pain she’d given herself, he slipped the pack off his shoulder, laying it down on the far end of the bench. “Might as well elevate that ankle,” he offered, soft brown eyes looking up from the swollen joint to meet her gaze. “You mind?” He pointed down at her leg, “We’ll take it nice and easy, promise.”
“I considered that after I started moving, but I figured my dignity had been bruised enough, I wanted to sit somewhere that wasn’t on the ground.” Maybe it was a little silly, but she’d hoped it was only sprained. “I’m sorry if I’m keeping you from something-- really, I have my phone, I can just call--” Liza started, realizing now that this stranger had completely gone out of his way at this point to help her. When he asked if he could help move her leg, she bit the inside of her cheek and nodded once, shifting on the bench so that it would be a little bit easier to bring her leg up. Catching his gaze, she felt the warmth rise in her cheeks-- he was being so sweet doing all of this. “Yeah... oh that looks broken, do you think it’s broken?” She asked.
