"Your long-lost bretheren rise from the depths. It will not be long now. Old walls are swiftly falling. Shall I help you to be free from them once again? " (xal)

It will not be long now.

Elisande knew, to the exact second, when Azshara would rise with the old god’s pelagic army. She’d seen it, her glimpse towards the end of one particular thread of time that had her vision drowned beneath a wave of vengeance. She’d seen the light of the depths cast a fanatical glow upon the queen’s face shortly before it’s brightness was devoured by things That Should Not Be.

Her hands grip the railing just a bit tighter, her gaze hardening like a frozen diamond when set towards the relatively calm lap of the ocean’s waves.

Even without the looming threat of the sea-queen; the blade posed it’s own threat. One that Elisande was not blind to. Had she been the one to unearth the artefact before it found it’s way into the hands of mortals, she would have sealed it away with the others. Locked in time.

But alas, here she was.

And here they were.

“I do not need your help.” she snapped once she found the strength in her voice to answer without it cracking in plea. “From your curse’d kind or from anyone. Azshara’s sights have been set higher than simply avenging wrongs. I am nothing but an insignificant echo of the past and I plan for her to continue seeing me that way.”

After all, if she was wreathed in shadow, Elisande could move easily. Work towards righting an ancient wrong. But..

Hope had always been a mortal’s prerogative, not hers.

why princess talanji and elisande would be great friends: hat buddies

No but for real, Elisande would Love to teach Talanji some arcane magic since she also wants to prove the theory that Priests Can Cast Mage Spells Trust Me, And Why I Can Also Use Holy Light: A Thesis By Elisande.

Not only that but? Talanji might be able to put a good word in for her with the Loa because Elisande also wants to study / and or make bargains with said Loa?

The only problem is -- well, Elisande herself. She’s dead in the eyes of the world. But she reckons Talanji and by extent Zandalari have not seen many Nightborne or know their history so.

Talanji: And who might you be? Elisande: Elisande: You may call me Spellblade Aluriel, your majesty (:

Khadgar had made no secret of the fact that he had little experience in this matter - he knew that Elisande was quite aware, and knew that she didn’t at all seem to care. Later, he would express to her some considerable awe that she desired him so - such insecurities were less vocalized.
For the moment, however, such thoughts were by the wayside. So rare was it to find someone he could share intellectually with in regards to the arcane - he could count the number on one hand, and some were dead or missing. Beyond that, he…there was simply something about her that captivated. His hands ceased roaming up, though his fingers brushed against the back of her dress, and instead began to slide back down. Boldly, his hands curved along her backside, brushing over the fine silk, and simply held her there.
The slight shock of mana elicited a slight breath - enough for Elisande to beckon him closer, bid the kiss deepened. He tilted his head to the side and parted his lips, inviting her in without any hesitation. The spark of the arcane between them crackled in the air, no doubt fed by the field given off by the leylines beneath the tower itself. Had they both been mages of power but little control, it would have been drastically dangerous - but they knew both, and held it in command. Strangely, and much to his surprise and pleasure, it not only sparked, but fed the intensity - the tension, the arousal beginning to burn in his blood.
Khadgar shifted, trailing one hand down the length of her thigh while the other remained pressed against her bottom. He explored what of her fair lavender skin was exposed, over the arcane marks, slow and teasing. He recalled the day she had decided to move into his chambers - an odd choice, but he had quickly learned that Elisande was capricious, and had simply let it go. She had become a fixture - they shared the space - and it seemed she had chosen their chambers for this…experience on purpose.

Instead of mocking or ridiculing his few experiences -- as the partners that Elisande oft lay with had been granted that honour more than once and the process of learning that came with it -- she encouraged him through small vocal tells. She let her body reassure him in their silent, universal language that his touch was adored. Just as Khadgar was, too.

“Ah, there you are. Do you realise how much of an inconvenience you already are to me, Windrunner?” An indignant sniff. “ -- It was almost as if you were trying not to find yourself alone.”

Speculation on Elisande’s part; especially as she had already overstayed her welcome aboard the ship, within the cabin. Titans know she’d never traverse Boralus in person; not unless she liked fifty arrows in her back and a guardsman’s spear for good measure.

But, a projection was easy enough, especially when all she wished to do for the moment was converse rather than exchange physical goods. The faintly purple image of her likeness squinted, adjusting one leg over the other in her seat -- Alleria’s seat -- and settled her hands daintily on the propped knee.

“Let us skip the bewilderment and the accusations of my presence here. We all know that is barely even worth the interest of thought when you,” Her gaze sharpened, keen, hawk-like. “Walk hand-in-hand with that of the darkest path. I do not mean to patronise when I ask if you understand even a fraction of the void at your disposal.”

Once she received an answer to that, if any at all, then she would begin unleashing her questions. She wouldn’t want to overwhelm her, after all.
