hey everyone! i’ve been absent recently but will post a life update soon – got my first full time job. just letting you all know that my society6 store is currently 25% off and free global shipping which is a really good sale (they normally only do 20% off). i’m doing film photography next semester so have to save up to buy equipment so if you’re looking for gifts for an arctic monkeys/art lover (or yourself) please check it out :)

Can I ask you what the name of your planner is? I'm really in love with it and I think of buying it for next schoolyear. I love your blog btw!

it’s a passion planner! i have the compact undated one and it’s so good. you can use the daily spaces for either planning hour-by-hour or you can just use the space like a bullet journal for daily lists (that’s what i do when i don’t have any plans but need to get stuff done)

Anonymous asked:

I noticed you have a MacBook Air, I'm switching to Mac and was wondering do you have any recommendations on getting the pro or air?

i’m actually using a macbook pro now! my air was a 2011 model so i upgraded a few months ago as i wanted more storage, a bigger screen and more ram/processing power (also my battery capacity was dropping after ~1000 cycles)

i used my 11 inch air for two years of high school and almost two years of uni and i loved it. it’s really fast, thanks to a solid state drive- i had no problem editing in photoshop on it. it’s super light, which is one of the biggest draws - amazing for commuting (esp. compared to a pro). i was tossing up whether to buy a new battery, go for a 13 inch air or get a pro, and i went for the pro as i knew it was the best option for photography/videography.

if you are doing anything that requires lots of processing power/ram, get a pro. if you do not need to run the adobe suite, edit videos, play intense games - get the air. my pro was over AU$2000 which is ridiculous for something that will need to be replaced in 5-6 years. airs are still expensive compared to windows laptops but are much cheaper - if you just need the web, microsoft office and similar apps then get an air for sure.

what you definitely shouldn’t do is the get the plain macbook though as it’s got a mediocre processor (my 2011 air outdoes it) and no ports which is weird.

winter break recap/start of sem 2

hey guys! i’ve been away as i’ve been on break since early june, but semester is starting next week and i’m really excited. i got my final results a few days ago and i got HDs (high distinctions) in half my courses last sem so i’m hoping to do the same or better this semester.

recap of winter break:

  • got a job at uni in the marketing dept which is super exciting
  • did a bunch of online courses (mostly photography)
  • read heaps - i hadn’t read much fiction since january (besides required reading for class) so this was great
  • the most important development - joined team valor on pokemon go (team valor is the most baller team)

plans/goals for sem 2

  • i’m doing 4 courses: political pr (gonna study auspol and the us election), american literature (!), 19th century europe (!!) & the lives of the impressionists (!!!)
  • gotta keep my wam (weighted average mark - likea gpa) above 80 so i stay on the dean’s list
  • i’m going to continue taking as many photos as humanly possible (might need a new hdd) and want to learn some videography as well
  • make more

6.29.16 at 1:40 pm // i got up at 4:30 this morning bc i thought i had work and that turned out to be false.  so instead i spent the day figuring out my financial aid for the upcoming year and switching my schedule around a bit to accommodate my double major and my hopeful year abroad in paris.
