A new fic I’m starting. Let me know what you think😊
CS AU from Robin Hood: prince of thieves
He could feel his heart rate slowing. He doesn’t know how long he’d been without food and water. He knew Pan would wait at the very last crucial moment before death to give him water. But the pain of dying was real enough. He could feel his body beginning to shut down. Perhaps Pan had grown tired of having him around. He’d been dangling in his cage for seemed like an eternity. Really though, he’d prefer death. To just be done with this cursed land. The place where his brother died over a lie. Where he swore off his King who’d he once trusted. But because of his King’s lie, Liam was dead. Now all Killian could hope was to just join him.
...But who will avenge him? A voice whispered quietly in his head.
That voice has been the only thought circulating in his mind. Perhaps it was his only drive to survive this place. So that he could one day avenge his brother. But each day he spent here was torture and pain, and that drive to survive, became more and more bleak. He was starting to welcome the end to his miserable life. Because life without Liam had no meaning.
“You’re doing it again you know,” that familiar voice Killian has come to know, from the dangling cage next to his.
“Doing what,” Killian responded, half tired and half annoyed.
“Thinking about giving up. That’s what Pan wants. He wants you to lose hope. Don’t let him win.”
Killian couldn’t help but let out a sarcastic laugh. “Win. I'm sorry Merlin, but there are no winners here. Only losers. And I’m afraid I lost this fight long ago. I'm nothing now but an empty shell. There's no hope in me. I’m just waiting til I get to be with Liam.
“Killian, Liam would want you to fight. You know that.”
Killian did a hard swallow. He turns to look at Merlin who's been here longer than Killian but has become somewhat of a friend in this wretched place. “You didn’t even know him.”
“I know enough from what you told me. I can see how much he’s meant to you. How much you’ve looked up to him. Keep his memory alive Killian and fight. We will get out of here one day. I promise.”
Killian looks at him. “How can you promise that Merlin. Your magic doesn’t work here. Pan is never taking that cuff off your wrist. Admit it. We’re done for. Might as well just wait it out at this point.” It was then that Killian felt so tired. It’d been too long. Too long without food and water. This is how Pan wanted it. Him starving in this swinging cage. Killian felt his body grow cold. His eyelids shut, and he knew this was it.
“Killian! Killian,” Merlin shouted. “We will get out of here. Don’t give up!”
Killian continued to doze on and off for what seemed like an eternity. Then he saw his brother. He looked healthy and happy. This was it. He was finally free of Pan and Neverland and able to join his brother.
“Liam.” Killian whispered, but still felt tired and still in his cage. Killian looked around confused. His cage was open but not where it was before. He was only surrounded in light with Liam in front of him. “Liam. What’s happening?”
“Hello little brother.”
“Oh Liam Thank the Gods. I thought I’d never see you again.” Killian tried to get up but still felt weak. Liam helps him to his feet.
“I'm sorry brother, but I’m not here to take you over. You’re not done Killian.”
“Liam please. Don’t go. I can’t go back. Please.”
“I’ll be with you Killian. Always.” Liam placed his hand on Killian’s shoulder and the other hand on the back of his neck. They take each other in a warm embrace. One which Killian did not want to break.
“Liam. What should I do?”
“You live little brother. You live and you do good.”
They share a look. One that Killian knew would be their last. “Liam?”
Liam begins to fade from Killian’s sight, and then is gone. Killian falls to his knees and cries.
He awakens to water harshly thrown on his face. His sinuses are burning as he breathes in some of the water, but the moisture in his mouth feels amazing and his body is humming with satisfaction. He’s not dead. He lives. He’s conflicted about the reality of this. Yes, his survival instincts are strong-- were strong. But being here and without Liam has been too much to bother with surviving. But still, he lives.
Liam’s words echo in his ear. “Live brother. Live and do good.” There is no good left to do brother. Not without you.
Killian continues to cough as a lost boy tries to force feed him more water.
“Drink up lieutenant. Wouldn’t want you dying on us would we.” He can feel Pan Smiling through his words. “So much left for you to do.”
The warning of the conch shell horn was loud. Pan’s smile quickly left his face. He looks around at what the commotion could be about. Felix, Peter Pan’s right hand man runs up to Pan. “It’s the fairies. They’ve attacked.”
An angry look now on Pan’s face responds, “Secure the prisoners. Prepare for battle!” Pan leaves quickly.
Felix looks at the other two lost boys to carry out Pan’s orders, then follows Pan. Both lost boys bent down to pick up Killian from the ground when Killian hears a loud smack and then an arrow whooshes past his head and into the second lost boy. He sees a woman standing next to him. She’s beautiful, with blond hair tied atop her head. She’s beautiful but also ferocious looking with a mallet in her hand. He hopes he’s not next. But before he knows it she’s reaching her hand toward him offering him help up. He still feels weak so he takes her hand and uses her body to help hoist him up.
“Thank you,” Killian says to her. It’s then he sees a flutter of wings behind her. “You’re a fairy.”
“A Pixie actually,” she responds with a smile. “And we’re here to rescue you. Come, hurry. We haven’t much time.”
Another fairy approaches them. In her hand a bow and arrow, to which, Killian can assume was responsible for the arrows going past his skull and into the other lost boy.
“Tink, we found the other prisoners, and Ariel was right. She found the ship. We’re going to the rendezvous point.”
“Good. Tell all the fairies to board everyone on the ship. We’re sailing out of here,” Tink said firm but smiling. They were finally getting off this island. She turns to Killian. “Lieutenant, can you sail that ship of yours out of here,” Tink asked.
“The jewel of the realm? It’s here? I thought Pan destroyed it,” Killian responded.
“No.” Tink said. “He’s been hiding it, ever since you arrived here a year ago we’ve been searching for it, knowing it was our only way off this island.”
He was shocked. Has it been a year? Liam’s been dead a whole year? He’s been here, tortured by Pan every day for a bloody year!
“Bloody hell.” He paused a moment. “
If you can take me to my ship, I can get us out of here.”
Tink smiled wide. “C’mon then. Let’s get the rest of your crew.”
