SkekLi is again bored and irate, even more so because urLii is being a sore winner (in this Skeksis' opinion). He cleverly manages to get urLii to talk to him again, but what was meant to be a simple attempt to entertain himself takes a much darker turn than expected.
Will you make your fate or follow it? Weave forth your own tale, taking destiny in your hands, or will you simply be a note in the great symphony of existence, never knowing where you will go, letting others forever take the lead? You must choose: singer or song, weaver or woven.
...Or perhaps both?
Any good songteller knows that a song can amend many woes. The song is the story and instrument melding to create an image in the mind like dreamfasting, music of heart and music of voice entwined in a tapestry of imagination, so strong you awake at the end of the tale as if in a dream.
The greatest songtellers, however, know that the song is much more than entertainment. A song is magic. A song is power.
Wield it well.
Frozen, every muscle rigid and tense, though no physical aliment grips you. Forever trapped atop a high prison, the song that ensnared you still forever ringing in your ears; it can be easily said there are none who envy this position SkekLi found himself in.
Creepy, crawly, spinning webs everywhere, slowly making a domain their own with silk threads of death; few know how to get these creatures on their side, and to some that alliance can be dangerous. Be wary to not end up yourself entangled.
Today's a day for puns, lame punchlines, and all sorts of sordid silliness that is sure to earn a groan from the audience! Only the greatest of jesters, however, can leave 'em wanting more.
Knock 'em dead, Satrists!
Today's prompt is a long story. Tales are often long and tortuous, leading you down paths from beginning to the uncertain end; you never know, really, where they will take you. Fortunately, if you have a good storyteller with you, your explorations may be sound, and you'll find yourself back to the waking world from which you came: far from the clutches of danger, wrapped in the safety of what is familiar.
But stories are unpredictable, and the best laid plans do not always go as they should. Even the geeatest of storytellers don't emerge from those paths entirely, where maps will not help you, where there is no clear North or South, up or down, and others may have their own version of the truth.
So be wary little songtellers, as you weave your craft!
If anyone’s interested in seven minutes of me voice acting as a slightly insane bird clown: here you go.
June 6th is our start! Enjoy the wonderful things our Songtellers have poured their hearts, talents, and efforts into during this first day, our prompt: Riddles. Don't fret if you haven't made anything yet, though! We're always accepting late submissions!
Meanwhile here's a riddle for you:
One Brother struck the first blow, upon the twice of nine,
The second made the rend,
The third Brother severed it, making twain.
What remains?
Start getting out your musical instruments (or artist's tools, as the case may be), and get ready for a long performance! We have a great week ahead of us- there are tales to tell, songs to sing, and much more!
(Also leave out shinies for your Satrist and Storyteller respectively, if you don't mind.)
Don't forget to tag #lilii week 2022 and get our attention @li-lii-week so we can showcase your masterpieces! Have fun!
