Injury Starters

  • “Whoa, when did you get this?”
  • “Who did this to you?”
  • “Hold still— I need to clean it.”
  • “I’m supposed to believe this was an accident?”
  • “Damn— I’d hate to see the other guy.”
  • “Does this hurt when I touch it?”
  • “What the hell, ___? Another fight?”
  • “What the hell happened to your face?”
  • “Why are you so calm about this? You’re really hurt.”
  • “I think your arm is broken. It’s not supposed to bend like that.”
  • “Here, let me help you with that.”
  • “You’re bleeding a lot. Too much. Apply more pressure. I’m calling an ambulance.”
  • “Did you think I was gonna leave you like this?”
  • “Instead of helping you, they ran off? What an asshole.”
  • “You need to be more careful. You keep getting hurt like this and you’ll put yourself out of commission.”
  • “Let me grab the first-aid kit. Don’t move.”
  • “So, do you wanna explain to me what the hell happened?”
  • “You look really pale. Sit down. I don’t need you fainting before I get this stitched-up.”
  • “I’m not blaming you, I’m just saying this looks awfully suspicious.”
  • “How many of them were there? This doesn’t look like one man’s doing.”
  • “Sit still. I need to clean this before it gets infected.”
  • “Wiggle your fingers. I need to make sure it’s not broken.”
  • “This is gonna hurt. A lot. But it’ll be quick. I need to pop it back into place.”
  • “I told you not to act recklessly like that. You might think you’re protecting me, but you’re gonna get yourself killed if you keep jumping in like that.”
  • “That was really close this time. Too close. Please, promise me you’re gonna listen to me and be more careful in the future.”

Well that, basically told him nothing. It seemed his guess was right, this was going to be an infuriating conversation. Thankfully, she also seemed content to ask simple questions for now.

"No, I'd say spears and crossbows are more common than swords, cheaper, you know?" His sword did look rather fancy, silver hilt with fine black leather and a icy blue gem in the pommel. It also told Venix something he was already guessing, she wasn't from around here.

"Where are you from?"

Spears and crossbows, and his sword. How very... low-tech. That might play out to her favour. If she would have known she would end up here, Blackfire would have brought a few pieces of technology with her just to show off or perhaps present herself as way better (not that she needed technology for that), but of course, landing here had not been planned. Still, it was probably good for her. Once she would have recovered from the squeezed travel, she could show off and win everyone over if needed.

Image

To his question, Blackfire looked skywards for a moment in an attempt to locate the right direction to point towards the planet she entered the capsule in, but it wasn't dark yet so that was pretty much impossible. Well. She would have kept her information to herself for a later advantage, but he already knew that she could originally not speak his language, so it probably wasn't a far guess to make even if she didn't answer. "From another planet. You do know of other planets and beings existing on them, right? Or are you one of the isolated species?" Wait... Theldin... isolated... she knew something about that, didn't she?

Dropping her to her feet, even if she fell to the ground in a slump, "Great! Now that you're listening, let's recap on how you died, and where we're going to go from there." And her star near the end of her hat leaving and expanding in front of them both, it'd actually play what happened, Blackfire more or less dying at the end and it showing- too brutal for words to describe. "Ohayo! how gruesome, but befitting of someone like yoooou~! But you're in luck, you're mine now in every way, shape or form! Like I said, I brought you back."

Image

Then tapping her chin, making a smug expression, "So firstly, we're going to go clean up the planet I look after, then we'll be going to other worlds. And if you try to resist since I think you need a little more insight on your situation!~ I'll do more of what I did and worse, as I'll know where you go. What you're doing, maybe, even what you're thinking~ Just remember, I'm allowed to do whatever you've done in life back to you now if you disobey, so let's go, hay!" A collar and a leash of light materializing around Blackfire's neck, the star enveloping them both as Betilla would choke Blackfire in a hovering trail behind her as they'd descend together.

Image

Then appearing in a jungle on an odd, far, far away planet, Blackfire allowed to breathe as she fell to the ground, only to feel a titanic weight on her arm. The alien's trials were not done yet, Betilla had put a boot on her, "For defying me earlier~ I want you to get up while my foot is on your arm, you'll have to break it, then I'll heal it afterward. 'Caaaause if you don't!~ Ohayo~ I'll break it for you, then make you fight like that the entire time we're here." That tone was friendly, warm, and unchanging no matter what she said or how she expressed herself.

Watching that star move and turn into a form of display, Blackfire flinched when she watched the recap of her 'end'. Not that she believed it - fake footage existed and Blackfire knew how well that could be at times - but it was still not exactly pleasant to watch. "You can repeat that as many times as you want, I'm not buying it. I'm here, I'm breathing, I'm not dead. I didn't die, I'd know if I did."

Clean up a planet? Seriously? Just what exactly did she think Blackfire was? Swallowing her anger to not get further reactions, though, she listened to what the woman said instead. Everything she did, if that was the rule she was going by, she would basically have free reign. There was little that Blackfire hadn't done to others. "A coll--" Blackfire wanted to complain about the collar and the leash appearing, but she couldn't even finish speaking as she instead gasped and then coughed as she struggled against being pulled after her.

Finally, she was dropped to the ground, and immediately Blackfire shouted again. "You can't just pull me along like this!" But she already kept going, demanding another thing of Blackfire, and she scoffed in return to what she demanded.

Image

"Do you have any idea how much it takes to break a tamaranean bone? I don't know what standards you're thinking of, but I can hardly break my own bones even if I wanted to!" That wasn't quite true, she absolutely was capable of breaking her own bones, but she was very much not willing to do it.

"Hmm." His tone sounded measured and unopinionated, but he couldn't do much about it. "It's fine, my costume isn't a one-piece like BB's or Raven's, so if it ends up appropriate I can beach up without having to worry." Though a day in the sun sounded fun, he wasn't sure he'd be able to enjoy it, with the company in-question.

Though he wouldn't mind that look, Kon wasn't going to give that away too easily. "I think it might cause the others to... Take offense." He delivered the words gently, but kept speaking in such a fashion that he was hoping it didn't slip how much that sentiment felt like she was trying to replace Starfire. After all, he wasn't even a full-time Titan, so why should he care so much?

Flexing his fingers, "But I'm not going to stop you. Are we takin' this show on the road, or 're you gonna be a little bit, picking out an outfit?"

"Good point." Not that Blackfire really minded if the others would be offended - they could always talk it out with her, and she had enough made up reasons to justify it - but she should probably at least pretend to care.

"Mmm... how about I take something with me? They won't know I even took it, if I leave and return here with my armor still on. And of course, I'll return the clothes cleaned up back to where they were." Nodding to herself, she figured that was a good solution that still allowed her to take over still more of her sister, and then she looked back to Kon again. "We can leave in a minute. Shouldn't take long, since I'm not changing what I'm wearing." And with that, she flitted away into Starfire's room for a moment, pushing the hissing Silkie aside to reach the cupboard and dig through her clothes. She didn't take care to leave all of the stuff folded or hanging neatly, but she at least wasn't throwing anything around the room, that should count for something. She'd tidy up later, or perhaps sort things out then, too. It really didn't take Blackfire more than maybe 2 minutes before she had picked some beach-appropriate clothes (which, for her, meant not much clothing all in all), and returned to Kon with a bad slung over her shoulder. "Okay, I'm ready. Does any specific city come to your mind when you think beach, or should we just go and fly until we find something that looks good?"

"you don't know suffering..."

the croaky voice of jason todd spoke angrily to blackfire

[[Thank you for sending one! @arkhambird ]]

Aww, he was angry. Blackfire only grinned, and then shrugged. "You don't know what I know, so who are you to assume that. I know plenty suffering." Not all from experiencing it herself, some simply from giving, but, details. "How about we talk about something nicer? I'd hate to turn this to a fight instantly."

"What?" Okay, well, Blackfire expected to not be welcome just showing up randomly and suggesting things that probably were absolutely not helping with the problem Rose was facing, but that was just rude.

"Talk to me like that again and I'll tear you apart!"

"The best. Obviously." And nothing could get Blackfire off of thinking that, of course.
