56. If they’re scared, who do they want comfort from? Does this answer change depending on the type of fear?

the answer is verse-dependent, but if we're talking about and following Emily's "main verse", it'd probably be no one.

sure she had her father back in Boston, but Emily barely visited him. when he inevitably passed, she had no one to fall back to. still has no one to fall back to. there is a lot of guilt in not visiting her father as much as she should've. she would tell herself that she just got roped into one thing after another. in an effort to try and 'save the world', she had forgotten why she set out on this journey in the first place.

so she doesn't return to Boston, for years. the fear of judgement, of shame, from her father's buried bones is what keeps her away. when she's scared, all she has is an open road and the urgency to safe-keep Isu artifacts.

34. How do they greet someone they like / love?

Avatar
weirdly specific character building questionsaccepting!

i guess it would depend on what kind of relationship Emily has with someone.

with someone she likes (like a friend): a warm smile; a stark contrast to the cold, piercing stare one might get when they cross Emily's gaze (she's got a serious case of RBF). sometimes she'll have a cheeky grin if she's real close to someone. honestly, Emily is generally reserved and kind of awkward, even with a friend. but there's no mistaking the warmth she tends to emanate towards an ol' buddy.

with someone she loves (like a family member): a snarky or cunning remark, accompanied by a playful smile. those closest to her are usually family—blood or forged. they are small and far few in between, but she holds them dearly in her heart. which makes her comfortable enough to show a more playful side to her.

with someone she loves (like a romantic partner): similar to how she'd greet her family, but more cunning and definitely more endearing. Emily would likely tease her partner about something trivial, mockingly or otherwise. she'll read them to filth, but that just shows how attentive she is. she's like a sour patch kid—sour, then sweet. if not a snarky remark, she'll just simply gaze into their eyes, inviting them in. she's got a staring problem, and it only gets worse with her partner. it's very endearing though! as intimidating as she may seem.

The air is chill and crisp for springtime. It's early morning, just as the sun begins to rise and its light illuminates through the thicket of trees. It's the perfect time to hunt for deer. Emily remains still, concealed behind some shrubbery. Her fingers delicately trailed along the edge of her leather pouch, slowly reaching in to take out one of her throwing knives. Her breathing slows, but its steady, almost entering a meditative state. Her eyes close momentarily as she focuses her senses on her sight. It's become a habit she picked up since she started hunting. For whatever reason, it has always done the trick. There was no use in questioning it.

Her eyes open and focus on her target just a few yards away. Highlighted by a golden glow, the stag could be seen even through the dense shrub. Slowly and quietly, Emily shifts to the side, unveiling herself as she positions her arm towards the line of trajectory—the neck. The atmosphere becomes still as if the passage of time slows down. She waits patiently for the opportune moment. The stag lifts his head, and—

Exhales. Time resumes as normal as she throws her knife directly into the carotid artery. The stag screeches, her knife plunged deep into his skin as he writhes around. It wouldn't be enough to kill him, that much she knew for sure, but she just needed to slow him down before delivering the final blow.

RE: Emily's stance on Assassins vs. Templars

Emily's curiosity and search for Precursor/Isu artifacts evolves to her becoming a kind of 'Keeper' of such artifacts.

it's slightly different in the way that Kassandra is 'Keeper'. Emily just makes sure the artifacts are where they need to be–away from those who may take advantage of it, particularly those in higher power. and if there are whispers of those in pursuit of these artifacts, she tracks them down and tries to steer their search away from the artifacts' true location. in some circumstances, she relocates these artifacts to a safer, more isolated location. even with her 'sixth sense', it's still a dangerous task with the psychological risk of the artifact's power, particularly if it is an Apple of Eden.

when it comes down to it, Emily keeps track of all the Isu artifacts she's able to come across in her travels. she feels it's her calling and her duty to help keep the balance by doing this.
