Summary: At the Junior Prom, you and your toxic on-and-off boyfriend do your best to make each other jealous, until a certain someone really catches you attention.
(got this idea from that scene in euphoria where maddy and nate try to make each other jealous at the school dance but twisted it to make it my own!!)

Junior Prom hasn’t exactly been something you’ve been looking forward to, but either way you were determined to have a good time. Although being a Pogue means you’re not supposed to like all the girly things in life, you just couldn’t help yourself. Getting all dressed up with full makeup and a cute hairstyle has always been your way of expressing yourself. Sometimes it made it harder to make friends, but somehow you managed. Your best friend Melissa, who you just called Mel, had known you since kindergarten. Though almost being the complete opposite as you, the two of you had never done anything without each other. You considered her your soulmate, more important than any boy who could walk in and out of your life when they please. At least that’s what you told yourself when you and your now ex-boyfriend Jack broke up for the 700th time this year. You had been in love with Jack since your first date. He used to be the sweetest boyfriend ever, always buying you flowers and taking you out to dinner. Surprising you with gifts and letting you paint his toes when you wanted to. Sure, when you both inevitably got back together he was sweet, but not like he used to be, not that you’re any better anymore. The toxic-ness surrounding your relationship has absolutely taken over the both of you. Now that he knows he has you wrapped around his finger, he’s become mentally and emotionally confusing, and if there’s one thing you knew how to do correctly, it was play games with him.
So there you were, sitting at a table with Mel, looking across the dance floor to see Jack dancing with some slut you recognized from third period bio. You tried your best to keep your composure, but you knew your face all red and twisted. Although it hurt seeing the boy you loved groping some girl’s ass, it meant that the game had started and it was time to have some fun, “Y/n, don’t” you heard Mel say as you stared daggers towards your ex. You gripped the table cloth and licked your lips, “Y/n. Don’t” Mel tried again, sounding more stern. But it was too late. You stood up swiftly and made your way across the dance floor, making sure to catch your ex’s attention before passing by him, in search of a hot guy to dance with in retaliation. He quickly made eye contact with you, knowing exactly what you were doing, then looked back down at the girl who was now kissing his neck. Game on.
You stood at the edge of the dance floor, surveying the area for any potential guys to make your ex jealous. Suddenly, you saw Kiara Carrera standing in the corner. You were kind of friends with Kie, having a couple classes with her here and there. You used to be closer until she switched schools to go to the Kook Academy, then when she came back the only people she hung out with were her crew of Pogues. The same group of Pogues you knew would get under Jack’s skin. You walked over to their group of four, you and Kie smiling at each other quickly, “Can you dance?” you asked John B who was sitting in a chair. His eyes widened at you, and he looked like he was at a loss for words, “Um- well I uh-” he stuttered out, but he was taking too long to answer. You rolled your eyes and turned your head to the other boy sitting with them, “Can you dance?” you asked him. Much like John B, his eyes widened, but he could actually speak. “Hell yeah I can dance” he replied, “Great” you said back to him, giving him a cheeky smile, “He’ll be right back” you said to the rest of his friends. Before even giving it a second thought, you grabbed onto his hand and dragged him through the crowd of people on the dance floor, being sure to walk right beside Jack who was still getting his neck molested by some girl’s tongue.
