After All This Time: Part 2

Sarahni stared up at the ceiling, mentally counting each small divot and tiny chip in the paint. She’d have to add a new coat, but that would have to wait. Pulling the covers off her, she slid out of bed and gave a quick stretch of her arms up and out. Donning a simple linen shirt and pair of pants, the Magus mentally recounted the events in her dream. Her body moved on it’s own to her table, cutting herself a few slices of bread and taking a few pieces of fruit as she replayed the events again and again.

After All This Time: Part 1

A cloud of dust and kicked up sand obscured her view as she dove to avoid being hit by a bolt of Arcanic energy. She took a few ragged breaths, letting the hot sand on her back ease the aches in her body for the brief few moments she had. All the while, her mind raced on potential ways to finish this. Each plan useless in her current state, spent of her energy. The intelligence provided did not specify there would be so many guards for this one supply caravan. One remained, but the fight took its toll on her. She cursed the hot sun beating down on her, and did her best to calm her breathing. Focusing her breath, she found the moment to channel the Arcane into herself. Evocation spells could help provide small bursts of energy in situations such as this, but they wouldn’t last forever. The Sindorei approaching her from the caravan would not let her rest for long. She heard him boast in Thalassian, but the harsh winds muted his words.

Time wasn’t a luxury she had. The clanging of armor echoed as the Horde soldiers charged closer up the sand-dune. The three she accompanied on this trip had begun their retreat, though the Goblin Rockets caused the camels to become spooked and resistant to their rider’s directions. Shatterstone Harbor had to be notified of this. The Horde had already established numbers here, and any further expeditions would require more forces to claim the ruins.Turning to meet the Horde soldiers head on, Sarahni readied her footing to attack.

Blood in the Sand pt.3

Arcanic energy violently swirled around her, nearly enveloping her entire form. A sickening cracking sound rang out around her as the stray view she could get through the energy showed the room around her being seared by violet bolts of chaotic magic. Looking down, her hands bore the same color as the magic, it pouring from her palms without pause. Cracks began to form in her arms, travelling up them from her palms like lightning would strike the ground. Each one began to glow a blinding violet. Her arms throbbed, and all she could do was scream a silent scream before darkness took her.

The first day had finally come to an end, and they were all tired. Dismounting from her camel, Sarahni twisted her back and rolled her shoulders before taking a look around. All she could see, besides the rock formations jutting out from the ground, was sand. Nodding with approval, she helped the Dwarves and Gnome off their own mounts, and began to set up camp for the night.

A death sentence, that’s what this damned desert was. Sarahni had heard rumors of the Zandalari Trolls sending their people here as punishment, forced to wander these blistering sands until either the heat or Krolusks took them. Walking further away from Shatterstone Harbor, she felt a brief moment of pity for those that had to walk this path with no chance of return.
