He raised his eyes. “Sister. See. This time I knew you.”

Asha’s heart skipped a beat. “Theon?”

His lips skinned back in what might have been a grin. Half his teeth were gone, and half of those still left him were broken and splintered. “Theon,” he repeated. “My name is Theon. You have to know your name.“

"Anyone Could Have Survived in Sansa's Place"

Sometimes I see people argue that as long as Sansa kept her head down in Kingslanding she was safe which I disagree with for multiple reasons... but I honestly think people who argue this are severely underestimating Sansa's mental resilience & strength. Sansa was someone who at 12, was forced to watch her father die after believing she was able to save his life & was later forced to look at his severed head & well as those of the people she grew up with. She was treated as a "traitor's daughter" & her best friend was taken from her with no explanation. She had to deal with the terror of being killed if something ever happened to Jaime. She was later forcibly married to one of her family's enemies, something she was completely blindsided by. Finally, she is led to believe that everyone in her immediate family (apart from a brother bound to the Wall) is dead. So what I'm saying is I think people honestly diminish Sansa's resilience by saying anyone could have survived in her place... because personally if I dealt with all that at her age I would want to kill myself. I wouldn't want to keep going. And suicidal ideation is something Sansa does struggle with, but despite this she tells herself to "be brave like Robb" & keep going. And this is why I think Sansa is one of the strongest characters in the series, along with her mother & sister.

People also forget that she’s not like other characters who have “magical crutches.” She’s literally learning to survive without any source of magical power but her inner strength and her wits.

asoiaf books on rhaegar targaryen: a true enigma, motivated by his belief in "the prince who was promised". Noted for being bookish and quiet until he decided that being a warrior was necessary. Was he plotting to overthrow his father before rebellion broke out? Or was he loyal to Aerys? Was he in love with/infatuated with Lyanna Stark, or was she a willing/unwilling means to an end? Did he have a plan that was scuppered by his father murdering Rickard and Brandon Stark, or was he making shit up as he went along? Can his seeming gamble of 'Pissing Off Pretty Much Everyone In Order To Fulfil A Potential World Saving Prophecy" be justified? Can his actions be rationalised by his belief that he was acting in the best interests of the realm? Where is he on the Targaryen sliding scale of Greatness - Madness? Every person you ask about Rhaegar has something different to say. Who the fuck was this man? A rapist? A madman? A true knight? A wonderful Crown Prince who would have been a great king and could have saved his dynasty? The main cause of House Targaryen's ruin? A lovesick idiot? Someone who had no real feelings for anyone and instead prioritised what he believed to be right and necessary above all else? A quiet, fundamentally good man who was dragged into a larger conflict against his will? Or someone who believed too much in his own importance? So many shades of grey.
GOT on rhaegar targaryen: oh shit, well we haven't actually bothered with any of the necessary backstory, so...idk, we'll assume people know it I guess? well ANYWAY we need jon to be the legitimate! one! true! king! for reasons! so whatever rhaegar's a moron.

I don’t understand why some Christians promote abstinence as a form of birth control when it didn’t even work for Mary.

I really shouldn’t be laughing right now.

story time: so i grew up in an abstinence-first education state where everything ended with “abstinence is the only form of contraception that is 100% effective” and my best friend gave a presentation on contraception where the last slide was just a picture of the virgin mary that said “abstinence is 99.99% effective” and she almost got kicked out of class

“I am more of a romantic than Dan and David. I kinda want him to just leave Cersei! She is bad for you and it’s not healthy and clearly you are in a relationship where you are more in love with her than she loves you.. so, you know.. And what about this Brienne of Tarth?!? She is, like, more a great..” - Nikolaj Coster Waldau
