Lol I love that you’ve gotten into them! This is a great question. It’s sort of hard to say because Gigi has less romantic back story, and we especially have minimal back story on her last serious relationship which was with Nat.

My sense right now is that Dani is very responsive to Gigi’s emotional intensity and desire for deep communication. Which is something she wasn’t really getting from Nat and Alice in the throuple, or from Bette. Dani is an intense person in her own way, but she’s also very grounded, and I think Gigi appreciates both about her.

Beyond that though I think we’ll need to see more from them, in situations where Dani isn’t in crisis, to really see more of why Gigi is attracted to Dani and what makes her compatible for Gigi. I do also think Gigi is someone who likes to take care of her partner, and so some of their compatibility this season was that Dani was receptive to being taken care of in a way that was emotionally and romantically compelling for Gigi because of who Dani is as a person.

I don’t have current plans to but you never know when inspiration will strike. I went on a couple different long hiatuses from fic writing to come back to kadena again, most recently for this story. If nothing else I wanted to do one last tribute to them that I was proud of.

All Eyes on You was a lot of fun to write and was meant to intentionally parallel the anticipation of s4 kadena working together when they have a history. (This was when many of us had high hopes for s4). So it will very likely remain a one shot.
