If they make an earth flag it should be of this angle to piss off the most amount of people

None Earth with South New Zealand

The amount of time you have to spend on this website to still remember the Deep Lore like None Pizza with Left Beef, only to apply it to this post. Truly, boggling.

actually there were 0 time travellers on the Titanic, because the time cops have an entire outpost to safeguard that one particular point in history. every rookie spends a least a month on Titanic duty and they all complain bitterly about it since it is, essentially, the time travel equivalent of being the guard who has to stop tourists from licking the Liberty Bell.

listen. LISTEN. there's going to be somebody, maybe several somebodies, at the travel hub who's dressed nice and knows all the right words and swears back and forth that they can sell you the credentials that will get you into the Titanic's timespace. they'll sell you IDs that pass you and your friends off as 23rd century history students or, worse, some 24th century brats who will go crying to their corporate sponsors if you ruin their paid vacation.

the IDs will look very impressive. they will not come cheap. they will not help you.

there's no checkpoint to bluff your way through and nobody who wants to hear you try. if you try to time travel anywhere near the Titanic, whether you try to board with all the other passengers or appear on the boat in the middle of the voyage, you will get slammed directly into a whitespace dragnet - a time bubble, in layman's terms.

and you will be surrounded by at least a dozen time cops, all of whom are bored and cranky and very eager to flex their newfound authority, which means they will absolutely detain you for as long as possible and insist on giving you a lecture when a slap on the wrist would do. if you talk back they might double your fine or even suspend your chronal permissions for up to a year.

and then they'll send you back to the hub in your period piece clothing that will suddenly look very stupid, and the guys who sold you the ideas will have fucked off to 1998 by then and you won't have a chance in hell of getting your money back, and what I'm saying is that it's not worth it, dude. it's just not worth it.

This is too specific to not be from experience

what are you, a time cop?

Concept: the extraterrestrial ship captain approaches Human Steve after months of their service, having uncovered an Earth Artifact at great cost.

“Human Steve, I have procured this recording! The seller told me it was a rare, preserved copy of a ‘pop song’, and I wanted to present it to you as a gift of gratitude.”

Human Steve tears open the package and half smiles, half tears up - it’s one of those single-MP3 players from the late 90s, too scratched up to read the song title. He doesn’t expect it to work, but when he taps the play button, a tinny noise crackles out of the speaker.

His face falls.

“Ha ha, Agrax, very funny.”

The ship captain looks confused. “What do you mean, Human Steve?”

“Of all of the ‘pop songs’, this one? Really? Entirely on coincidence?!”

“Does this particular song have a cultural significance to you, Human Steve?”

“Yeah, it does, Agrax, it’s a–” Human Steve sighs. “You know what, it’s complicated. I’ll explain it some other time. Thanks for the gift.”

As Human Steve shuffles off down the corridor, the ship captain opens up their log and makes a careful note.

Stardate 2074.3 : Achievement accomplished. I have successfully Rickrolled Human Steve.

Here’s a video so you can hear the water and the thrushes. I took it for you because you couldn’t be there. <3

In case anyone could use this right now.

I've said it before but thank you so much for this, OP. Since I became physically disabled I can't hike to anywhere a wheelchair cannot roll and I miss this. Thank you for letting me see it again.

🇵🇸🔻I need everyone to remember: we must not get desensitised to the words genocide, ethnic cleansing, occupation, massacre, colonialism, imperialism, white supremacy, colonial violence, settler violence and war crime

do not let the gravity of those words, or the actions they describe, be lost on you. do not let them lose meaning in your mind just because we use them so often in our speaking out for Palestine.

letting our minds forget the sheer atrocity of these words is what "israel" is banking on, because the instant they just become what we tag Palestine posts with, or part of the copy pasted outrage we caption our posts with, or part of the usual paragraphs we see on posts from those in Gaza, we will lose steam because our brains will switch off

DO NOT BECOME DESENSITIZED TO WHAT ZIONISTS IN OCCUPIED PALESTINE, THE USA, THE UK, AND THE WEST ARE DOING TO PALESTINIANS

DO NOT LET YOURSELF BECOME ACCUSTOM TO WHAT ZIONISTS ARE DOING. DO NOT LET YOUR BRAIN ALLOW IT TO BECOME A NORMAL OCCURANCE AND NORMAL NEWS

IT IS NOT NORMAL. WHAT "ISRAEL" AND THE USA AND THE UK AND THE WEST ARE DOING IN GAZA AND THE WEST BANK AND PALESTINE IS NOT NORMAL.

IT IS INHUMAN. IT IS EVIL. NEVER FORGET. NEVER FORGIVE. NEVER.

“A young scientist who worked in the jungles of Thailand has been awarded a national prize for his invention of a $2 paper microscope that can be taken on field expeditions.

If a scientist wants to study something at the microscopic level, they need a microscope, which if they are deep in the Amazon Rainforest presents a serious problem.

Stanford University bioengineer Manu Prakash saw in his team’s $50,000 microscope a serious contradiction. As well as being bulky and ridiculously challenging to transport to remote locations, it needed training from skilled technicians to know how to use it. It also had to stay well out of the weather and other environmental impacts.

So he invented a portable one. Costing $1.75, the Foldscope has a 140x zoom, which is a small enough field to see a malaria parasite inside a cell…

“I want to bring science into everyone’s hands, make it more personal,” Prakash told CNN. “We have decoupled everyday life from the process of science.”

The ultimate in schoolhouse science, Prakash’s invention has sold 1.6 million units, mostly to schools in America, but serious scientists are also using it—like Dr. Kirti Nitnaware in India who works on the isolation and characterization of bioactive metabolites in cyanobacteria.

She used the Foldscope last year to isolate a new species of cyanobacteria. For this and other reasons, Prakash received the 2022 Golden Goose Award from the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), parent company of the scientific journal, Science.

“The Golden Goose Award reminds us that potential discoveries could be hidden in every corner and illustrates the benefits of investing in basic research to propel innovation,” said Sudip S. Parikh, chief executive officer at AAAS.” -via Good News Network, 9/20/22

“Costing $1.75, the Foldscope has a 140x zoom, which is a small enough field to see a malaria parasite inside a cell.” The implications of this sentence alone are huge.

This news is a bit older, but it’s still super relevant for the ways that it will massively expand science and research capabilities around the world - especially for citizen science and in developing countries.

And this guy has also gone on to design another revolutionary kind of microscope that could change how we detect disease:

“Rapid diagnostic tests can quickly check whether someone has malaria, but they don’t count the number of parasites. That figure is important: It reveals the severity of an infection and informs treatment choices. To count parasites, you need trained technicians and good microscopes. “There’s incredible talent, but it’s limited by their tools,” Prakash says. “I would meet health-care workers who would save their salary for a year to buy a fancier microscope.”

So Prakash and his colleague Hongquan Li built a fancier microscope—a high-speed, malaria-detecting device that they’ve called Octopi. It can automatically scan entire blood-smeared slides for malaria parasites, using a neural network trained on more than 20,000 existing images. Octopi works off a phone charger. It analyzes slides at speeds that are 120 times faster than traditional microscopy. Weighing fewer than seven pounds, it’s portable. And at a do-it-yourself cost of $250 to $500, it’s cheaper than many basic microscopes or other automated slide-analyzing devices.

Prakash has spent his career building extremely cheap medical devices that can be used in some of the poorest parts of the world. Besides the Foldscope, he developed a $10 skin patch that can detect parasitic worms. And he developed a 20-cent, hand-powered centrifuge that can spin medical samples at up to 125,000 revolutions per minute, achieving what costly, bulky, and expensive machines can do using little more than paper, string, and tape.”

Can't afford art school?

After seeing post like this 👇

And this gem 👇

As well as countless of others from the AI generator community. Just talking about how "inaccessible art" is, I decided why not show how wrong these guys are while also helping anyone who actually wants to learn.

Here is the first one ART TEACHERS! There are plenty online and in places like youtube.

📺Here is my list:

  1. Proko (Free)
  2. Marc Brunet (Free but he does have other classes for a cheap price. Use to work for Blizzard)
  3. Aaron Rutten (free)
  4. BoroCG (free)
  5. Jesse J. Jones (free, talks about animating)
  6. Jesus Conde (free)
  7. Mohammed Agbadi (free, he gives some advice in some videos and talks about art)
  8. Ross Draws (free, he does have other classes for a good price)
  9. SamDoesArts (free, gives good advice and critiques)
  10. Drawfee Show (free, they do give some good advice and great inspiration)
  11. The Art of Aaron Blaise ( useful tips for digital art and animation. Was an animator for Disney)
  12. Bobby Chiu ( useful tips and interviews with artist who are in the industry or making a living as artist)

Second part BOOKS, I have collected some books that have helped me and might help others.

📚Here is my list:

  1. The "how to draw manga" series produced by Graphic-sha. These are for manga artist but they give great advice and information.
  2. "Creating characters with personality" by Tom Bancroft. A great book that can help not just people who draw cartoons but also realistic ones. As it helps you with facial ques and how to make a character interesting.
  3. "Albinus on anatomy" by Robert Beverly Hale and Terence Coyle. Great book to help someone learn basic anatomy.
  4. "Artistic Anatomy" by Dr. Paul Richer and Robert Beverly Hale. A good book if you want to go further in-depth with anatomy.
  5. "Directing the story" by Francis Glebas. A good book if you want to Story board or make comics.
  6. "Animal Anatomy for Artists" by Eliot Goldfinger. A good book for if you want to draw animals or creatures.
  7. "Constructive Anatomy: with almost 500 illustrations" by George B. Bridgman. A great book to help you block out shadows in your figures and see them in a more 3 diamantine way.
  8. "Dynamic Anatomy: Revised and expand" by Burne Hogarth. A book that shows how to block out shapes and easily understand what you are looking out. When it comes to human subjects.
  9. "An Atlas of animal anatomy for artist" by W. Ellenberger and H. Dittrich and H. Baum. This is another good one for people who want to draw animals or creatures.
  10. Etherington Brothers, they make books and have a free blog with art tips.

As for Supplies, I recommend starting out cheap, buying Pencils and art paper at dollar tree or 5 below. For digital art, I recommend not starting with a screen art drawing tablet as they are more expensive.

For the Best art Tablet I recommend either Xp-pen, Bamboo or Huion. Some can range from about 40$ to the thousands.

💻As for art programs here is a list of Free to pay.

  1. Clip Studio paint ( you can choose to pay once or sub and get updates)
  2. Procreate ( pay once for $9.99)
  3. Blender (for 3D modules/sculpting, ect Free)
  4. PaintTool SAI (pay but has a 31 day free trail)
  5. Krita (Free)
  6. mypaint (free)
  7. FireAlpaca (free)
  8. Libresprite (free, for pixel art)

Those are the ones I can recall.

So do with this information as you will but as you can tell there are ways to learn how to become an artist, without breaking the bank. The only thing that might be stopping YOU from using any of these things, is YOU.

I have made time to learn to draw and many artist have too. Either in-between working two jobs or taking care of your family and a job or regular school and chores. YOU just have to take the time or use some time management, it really doesn't take long to practice for like an hour or less. YOU also don't have to do it every day, just once or three times a week is fine.

Hope this was helpful and have a great day.

Incase people missed this.
