From 30th May - 31st July 2022, I ran Jo Daily. This was a daily email of Jo’s experiences in 2005, influenced and inspired by the incredible yet undervalued work of Supernatural paratext Jo’s Blog. I adore this little universe and am so grateful for how much everyone else did too, so I’m back for more.

it’s just sooo funnny. like. you want to write a show for MEN about MEN and CARS. and it is a show about MEN and CARS. kind of. the CAR is the only place your toy soldier MAN has ever called home. when it wrecks, he fixes the CAR by hand because it’s the last piece of his DAD he has and he CRIES about it. he doesn’t believe in much. but there is new MAN who comes when he is called. helps when he can. toy soldier MAN believes in his CAR and this new MAN. by the end of it all, the new MAN says “i love you” for the first and last time. again. your toy soldier MAN has only his CAR. this is a show about MEN and CARS.

I'm about to have a wii fit

I was not at the panel today but came across an audio recording from the panel. Here is the transcript from that question. I wanted to be as true as possible to what I heard so I included Jensen’s stutters, only cutting out when he says “um” as a filler. I also put italics around words he sounds like he is very carefully choosing and/or emphasizing. Also, quotes around “resolution” when it sounds like he’s doing that thing where you repeat the question in your answer.

Q: How do you see Cas’s return to Supernatural and how would you like Cas’s confession to be resolved?

J: Confession to be resolved. Ok, starting out with a banger. I - I don’t - I don’t necessarily know Cas’s confession needs to be “resolved” cause I don’t think there’s anything to necessarily “resolve” about it. I think he gave - he gave a confess- or he gave his - his testament and his - his speech to Dean at the end there, which was I think a long time coming. And - and it was beautiful and it was heartfelt and it was true and it was raw and it was real. And so I- I- I- I don’t- I don’t necessarily think that there needs to be some “resolution” to- to that. I think- I think Dean took that in, I think he lost one of his closest allies, one of his best friends in that moment. And he understands that- that Cas loved him. And, that’s something that Dean will- if- if- the opportunity comes back for that reunion it’s one of those like, it doesn’t need to be said it doesn’t need to be talked about it’s an unsaid, under- you know. (Stutters) it’s- it’s an- well, it’s not a subtext. It was clear text! (Audience claps) and the- the accepting of that happened in that moment when Cas was- was taken away and Dean was sitting there on the floor and realized that he- he had- had not only lost a- a- a brother in arms but had also lost one of his closest- the closest people to him. And- and I- you know I’ve said that when you find your people it doesn’t matter who or what or where or why or when they are, you find your people. And they found each other and I think that that’s- that’s always gonna be there whenever- whenever they do end up coming back or whenever they do have a reunion, it’s just understood.

listen i've accepted dean winchester sleeping fully clothed and occasionally wearing shoes on top the covers for six seasons now as a fact of the hunting life and possibly symbolic of his constant existence in a state of Fight but I just watched s6 ep8 and dean (who has just woken up on top the covers wearing JEANS) tells sam to "let him get dressed first" DRESSED??? IN WHAT??? YOUR OTHER JEANS???

QUESTION ABOUT THE CONFESSION SCENE AT THE JENSEN PANEL (how Jensen wants the confession scene to be resolved and Cas coming back)

Jensen: 'I don't necessarily think that there needs to be some resolution to that. I think Dean took that in and Dean lost some of his closest allies and friends and he understands that Cas loves him. It doesn't need to be said or talked about. Well, it's not subtext. It's clear text. And the accepting of that happened when Dean was sitting on the floor and Dean not only lost a brother in arms but also one of the closest people to him. They found each other and whenever Cas comes back or there is a reunion it's just understood.'

He sounded like he was deflecting a little. Also he was like 'uff starting with a banger'. I am not sure about Jackles long con tbh he sounded not that enthusiastic about a potential Dean reciprocation. However he DID say that Castiel's love confession is text and the last part of his comment was vaguely homoerotic. So yeah. Even if we lose we win. But also we lose. But Castiel is in love with Dean. And it's always like this with Supernatural.

bobby is forever trapped in the kitchen where he killed his dad but the window over the sink is cracked open dean is forever trapped in the motel room and it might as well be any motel room it’s so nondescript claire is forever trapped in the bedroom that’s not her bedroom or it was her bedroom for awhile but it’s someone else’s now jack is not even awarded a room and is of course forever trapped in The Box which is a coffin which is in hell (the bunker)

does anyone remember that scene in season five where lucifer reveals that like most of the people in sam’s life were actually demons. like his prom date and college pals and stuff? i think the real kicker would’ve been if that teacher from after school special, the one who encouraged him to go to college, turned out to be demon. like. no i didn’t tell you to go to college bc i believe in you i just wanted you cut off and isolated
