In fanfiction there is a difference between being a good writer and a popular writer.

Just because you can write a well-structured story with dynamic and consistent writing and characters doesn’t mean you will be popular. And sometimes stories that have disorganized plots, mediocre writing, and/or OOC characters will be held up as the greatest things to ever exist.

Just because your writing isn’t popular doesn’t mean you are a bad writer. Don’t ever compromise who you are, who your characters are, your plot, your writing style, anything for the sake of readership.

There are popular writers everywhere. But there are only so many good writers.

Reminder not to be disheartened by lack of reviews/followers. They do not represent an accurate picture of your work.

I don’t know how Smudge_Lord feels about being in a fan fic post with an obscure ship, but anyways, Adam adopts Smudge.

“Adam, why’s the fucking cat in my seat? I thought you said no animals at the table?”

“He seems so content, Nigel...I don’t want to disturb him. He’s not reaching for the food and, according to the book I’m reading, it’s futile to teach a cat where they can be. Cats need ample spaces to explore and claim to stay happy and healthy indoors.”

“Adam, I love you, but I’m not happy about this.”

Nigel growls at his feline nemesis. Smudge stares with his mouth half open, mocking, chastising the non-Adam human.

Nigel grumbles in Romanian.

A Year Gone

Will Graham POV Referenced character death

When Jack found him on the beach, he let him believe that Hannibal had taken them both over the edge. There would be no convincing the head of the BAU anyway, so he kept that to himself. Even a year later, after all of his injuries had healed, he kept his silence. Falling back into his old life was hard. The easy part was granting a no-contest divorce to Molly. The hard part was walking the same hallways and standing in the same rooms where he’d once breathed the same air as Hannibal Lecter. He had stopped shaving altogether because when he smiled the scar on his cheek pulled in to look like a twisted kind of dimple. And he couldn’t look at it anymore. He was hailed as a hero when the Red Dragon was found dead. And again when the doctor’s body was finally released from the icy grip of the Atlantic. He spent much of the next several weeks intoxicated on both his pain medication and cheap whiskey. A year passed before he could go back. Not that he hadn’t tried. He’d been in his car more than once and halfway there before he had to turn around again. Pulling up to the cliff house, not surprised to see that no one had ever moved into the lush home. But glad that the police tape and evidence lock-out tags had been removed. Snow falling slowly from the sky, unhurried in its rush to the earth beneath his feet. Sunlight trying to warm the day unsuccessfully. Flakes melting against his face at the point of contact as he inhales salty sea air, opening his eyes and looking out at the horizon. The thought of looking down making his stomach twist in knots. Standing here again he could almost feel Hannibal standing next to him. If he dared to let the pendulum drop, he could see it. Played out exactly as it had that night. He had no need to do that. He still saw the man in his dreams, could still hear his voice echoing in his head. So many things left unsaid between them. The only conversations they have now are all one sided. Finally looking down at the waves crashing on the rocky beach below, almost expecting to see pebble like sand still stained with blood. But it’s just a craggy beach. Just an empty house. Just a ragged stretch of coastline. But it would always be a pivotal place in his own memory palace.

Murder Husbands Big Bang 2019

Hello all!!! Despite my work’s attempts to enslave me 24/7, I am back with more art! I was very fortunate to be paired with a lovely duo for the @murder-husbands-big-bang this year. They wrote an amazing fic titled A Love Beyond Time and you should do yourself a favour and go check it out immediately because it is beautiful!! It’s a reincarnation au where Hannibal and Will are destined to meet throughout their many lives. I am super excited that this fic gave me the opportunity to draw some characters from the Hannibal Extended Universe for the first time!

I did two pieces of art for this fic - the first was used to create the banner image above. It shows all the different versions of “Hannibal” and “Will” that we meet throughout the fic and WOW was it fun to draw. The second is based on the iconic knife throwing scene from King Arthur, which Hannibal replicates with Will in the present to see if he remembers their past lives.

I want to say thank you so much to my authors for being so patient with me while my work was so crazy. I really enjoyed working with them, and I hope you all enjoy this art!

Summary:

Hannibal Lecter begins having dreams of blue eyes and dark curls, the main focus of a series of dreams in which he experiences former lives with this man. A meeting at the behest of Jack Crawford proves to be quite surprising when he meets Will Graham, the man who shares the face of the one in his dreams, but are they dreams or are they memories?

Preview:

A beautiful man with soft silken curls was the first image. He was on a white horse, smiling back and speaking of killing not being to his liking. Hannibal couldn’t remember his name, couldn’t clearly make out all of the details, save for his hair, striking blue eyes, beard, and his horse, but he was so exquisite that the dreary setting was made brighter just by his presence. A hawk flew overhead, and blood clung thickly to the air as they trotted off into the distance. The only thing he could remember apart from those aspects was the amount of unshakable love he felt then; a quiet knowing he couldn’t place.

The doctor rose from his bed and then made it up, getting dressed and ready for the day ahead. After breakfast, he headed to none other than Jack Crawford’s office. Helping the F.B.I. certainly had its advantages. Another look into the unknown, so to speak. With a mind able to run on multiple trains of thought at once, Doctor Lecter found himself recalling his dream. While not entirely clear, it was one of the more prominent ones he’d had in ages. Ah, but it was silly, he knew, but insightful. Perhaps a reminder that he was alone because he was unique.

After theorizing with Agent Crawford, Hannibal heard the door open, and when he turned around to see who entered, he couldn’t help but stare. Introductions were made, and then it was back to business. Will Graham. It was harder than usual to keep his focus but he was nothing if not extremely disciplined. He turned back to the display board of photos, ones with girls missing or dead, and kept a straight face as Jack continued talking about the latest. Then Will spoke of taste.

Unable to help himself, Hannibal looked back at him, “Do you have trouble with taste?”

Will huffed through tight lips and flared nostrils, hands firmly in his pockets as he paced back towards Jack’s desk. He kept his gaze at the floor, only briefly looking at the other man. “My thoughts are often not very tasty,” he replied.

“Nor mine. No effective barriers,” Hannibal stated placidly, continuing to secretly admire the work on the wall. He glanced back but only briefly, the imagery of wilder chocolate curls flashing behind his eyes. Astounding.

Will Graham already had managed to captivate him more so than anyone had ever done.
