Hi, I'm Sage.

No minors.

I’m so old that two of my kids are adults. If you’re younger than my middle kid, you shouldn’t be following me. It’s not only a comfort thing, but a “sometimes I post material that could be considered unsafe and illegal to show minors” thing. I’m sorry but I don’t want to ~*~*~*corrupt the youth*~*~*~ or whatever. Y’all can do zoomer things in Not This Direction.

No out and out assholes (y’know, TERFs, supremacists, militants, redlinks in general, the usual suspects)

If you come up red, I block you. If you have an opinion I disagree with, I block you. I very liberally apply the block button.

My only radical opinion is that people can self-identify however the fuck they like, and queer isn’t a slur. Hi, I’m queer. You can pry the label out of my cold queer hands.

It’s just fucking rude and creepy in general if you tag other people’s art as ‘kin’ or ‘self’ without them saying it’s okay. don’t do that. I kindly ask that if you kin or bond or in other way identify with things to some obviously unhealthy extent to keep me completely out of the loop on it, because man almighty have i run into some fuckin people in my time.

Oh, and I don’t tag anything. If you need to keep off certain subjects for mental health purposes, I suggest not following me, because you never know what you’re going to get. I do my best not to post flashing gifs, and for the most part, I don’t reblog political posts, money begging, activism, or other stuff that would stress me out if I had to look at it. I’m never going to.

And THIS is why lace was a worn primarily by royalty and aristocracy for so many centuries..  It was expensive and time-consuming to produce.  Wearing it, and wearing LOTS of it was a blatant show of wealth and excessive consumption.

Mechanically-produced lace wasn’t really a thing until well into the 20th century, but there remains a wide gap between the quality of  mass-produced and hand crafted

In general textile arts are highly underated considering the amount of skill and time needed to execute pretty much anything.

im not really trying to be funny here i genuinely have never wanted context for something more in my life than this video. i mean ive always figured its just one of those weird for the sake of weird kind of things. but regardless the logistics of this whole setup are what intrigue me. what is this body of green water? a koi pond? the lighting reminds me of a hospital room or something. is the room flooded? it doesnt really look that way, but its possible. why are there apples and balls in it? but why is it also in a room? i cant tell if theres light eminating from the water or if its just such an intense shade of green it gives the illusion. is the bed affixed to the wall and suspended over the water or what? how did the bed even get there if its not a flooded bedroom? i only just noticed the water bottle tied to the bar as well. how does he manage to act relatively unbothered by a massive branch hitting him in the neck. and the watermelon just speaks for itself. im not expecting an answer i just need you to know these are the kinds of things i ask myself for 20 minutes each time its brought back to my attention

Every day I wake up, roll out of bed, turn on the coffeemaker, and hit the power button on my Pentium II. Windows 95 starts. My coffee is ready, and I double click on the Tumblr icon on the desktop. My modem screeches for a minute, and I'm online. I see the front page of Tumblr, but suddenly it darkens slightly with a pixel cross hatch pattern. My speakers go "donk!" as a message box pops up.

I quickly click No, almost guiltily, and the front page returns. I click the arrow button on the scroll bar to read today's Tumblr posts, and it slowly scrolls.
