Firstly, I’m tired of this conversation.
Secondly, not only have I posted sources but like 50 other people have gone into so much more detail than I have with so many more sources than I have and really done a lot of legwork here only to end up in the same place I did.
I have never said Anish Kapoor was a good person and in fact, I think on several occasions at this point, I’ve outright called him an asshole. The problem is in the issue regarding Vantablack, Stewart Semple is also a fucking asshole. If you guys want to be mad about the fact that Surrey nanosystems only gave one artist a license to use something that is not even a paint or a pigment but rather a very toxic highly unstable material that can only be produced by a robot in the lab, That is a different conversation
I very clearly laid out in the post that a lot of artist approached Surrey nanosystems and Anish Kapoor was chosen for reasons that have already been discussed ad nauseum. That is not what is at the heart of this issue, so I’m not really sure what the point of this message is.
So, please go rifle through the notes and read all the long, fantastic deep dives People have done about this, and don’t bother me about it.
But more importantly, I really want to add that this is not “such an important post.“ This is literally not important. Like I cannot stress to you enough how not important This is in the grand scheme of things right now. Not even in the small scheme of things
I’ve also already explained like three times why I turned the reblogs on that post off. You’re simply going to have to do the legwork to find the information because at this point I don’t wanna talk about this anymore.
