This has gotten far and away more popular than I expected so I'm going to answers some ~snuilt FAQs~

This is soooo cool! Will your mom make more/sell them? This quilt took an estimated minimum of 75 hours to make (and maybe much higher than that but it's not like anyone was keeping track...). It is pretty hard to make those at any level of scale. My mom is only interested in making her quilts as a hobby. If someone ever makes you a quilt it is truly a labor of love!

You can do this a couple ways, but my mom doesn't own a long arm sewing machine so she takes it to a quilt shop out-of-state. They have a fancy computerized long arm sewing machine that has pre-programmed designs. My partner loves cats so that's what my mom picked.
