Same Face, Different Stories OC Event!

Hey OC Community! I hope everyone is doing well! @eddysocs and I are happy to announce an OC event we will be putting on! Inspired by @ocfairygodmother and her friends, we will be hosting an OC creation event.

The way this will work is simple. Anyone who wants to participate will be placed into a fandom group, given a faceclaim, a pairing, and three random facts to make a new oc.

We are trying to do something fun that shows how unique you can all be, even if given some basic information for an oc that is the same as another persons.

There is a mini application, but it is super simple! All you have to do is fill out the google form!

APPLICATIONS WILL BE DUE JULY 8TH! We know a lot of you may still be doing your pride events, so we want to make sure you have ample time to apply!

Once all the applications are in you will be put into groups of (hopefully!) 3 to 5 and all assigned the same faceclaim, pairing, and three random facts. After that, you all will create your oc and do what you want with it! We encourage making a graphic or even writing a one-shot for them, but ultimately it’s up to you! And every OC will be showcased.

I've just had the strangest "review"

I feel like I'm opening the biggest can of worms, but what is OCFA? I've never deleted a review before, but I've been away from Tumblr for a while and it's confusing the hell out of me??

Pretty much from what I have been told and gathered, the same people from a while ago who were causing issues and supposedly “protecting” the oc community are back with more lies about things like plagiarism and i think tried to doxx someone? but have specificially targeted a bunch of people. they’re dragging people who aren’t even active anymore into it and generally just being annoying. that’s a really horrible explanation tbh but it’s kinda the jist i guess

Dear OCFA, 

I DO NOT support your tactics. I DO NOT support what you’re doing. You are scaring off OC writers who have nothing to do with the situation. You aren’t accomplishing anything positive for the community. Maybe instead of spreading cruel messages, try rolling your sleeves up and doing something positive instead. 

Go leave a friend a review. Go make a friend an edit. Go send a friend a kind ask. (Yes, it’s okay to actually have FRIENDS and support your FRIENDS)

The people you are accusing of crap have been FAR BETTER FRIENDS than you.  You haven’t been there for me when I needed someone. The people you are trying to rid the community of have been there for me time and time again. 

You don’t have to be best friends with everyone in the community. If you don’t like them, move on with your lives. I like having them in my life. They make me feel like I’m not crazy for wanting out of a toxic situation.

All y’all are doing is scaring OC creators and making them not want to create or branch out and find friends. Shame on you. If you wanted to, you could do so much better - you could be an influence for good and become a role model for the next generation of OC creators, but instead you’re dragging the community back to the stone age. Just stop. Do better.

As for the pairing can we have another pairing if we make it platonic? I would be making mine platonic but, I mostly write romance so I was just curios. Sorry for all the questions.

hello! yes, all three facts are supposed to be used. And as for romantic pairing, we choose the pairings under the assumption that if the individual wanted to write a romantic pairing they would write for that character. :)
