It was Guanghong’s first birthday in Japan, this was huge, or… at least to Minami it was, Minami figured every birthday of his was massive though, it was the day he was born, the day Guanghong graced the world with his beautiful presence! Celebrations would be made if Minami had his way.

But he knew Guanghong liked subtle. Having big grand gestures of love was fun yes, and right up Minami’s alley way, but it wasn’t quite Guanghong’s style, he liked them occasionally but from what Minami had experienced, often it was just a smidge too much. He dialled it down this time. This time instead of a restaurant, Minami picked their own little dining room, instead of a big batch of presents, Minami settled for two, one sat on the couch that’d greet him upon his return home from practice and the other nestled in a box atop the table where he’d set Guanghong’s place setting for dinner.

Baozi and Mocha had been taken to his parents’ home for the evening to be recovered in the morning, since as lovely as they both were, Mocha had a tendency to lurk just out of sight until you’re really not expecting to see her then boom there she is, and Baozi just wanted to play at all times but he was still just a puppy, a very large puppy but still just a puppy it could barely be helped even with the obedience training they diligently took him to once a week.

He’d been in constant back and forth with Guanghong’s aunt and uncle for the past month, diligently working with them to learn how to make a few of Guanghong’s favourite foods from home so he had a few options to play with, they’d been… hesitant to share the recipes with him of course, given these were family recipes, but… they’d given in eventually, Minami called it a win, they’d all but given him the acceptance into the family with that one.

Hell yeah.

This wasn’t some big thing, he’d not blown a ridiculous amount of money renting out an entire restaurant for the night which was his first thought, big and bold was his usual go to, subtle and romantic was the endgame. He’d taken the first idea of dinner but… made it subtle… intimate, complete with strawberry scented candles and a bottle of wine.

Now with a quiet furbabyless home, alight with candle light from the candles littered around creating such a warm, cosy atmosphere… Minami waited for Guanghong to come home from practice, he’d timed it perfectly, dinner wouldn’t be ready for an hour or so, so… he’d set up a second part to this little dinner, something to keep Guanghong busy while he set the rest up.

A bath, simple… perfect after practice to really get the kinks and knots out of his muscles after a long work out, filled with his bath salts and topped with extra bubbles because they were both still 5-year-olds at heart and loved a good bubble beard, warm and inviting all Guanghong had to do was show up on time because Minami intended to fully whisk him off his feet the moment he did.

when it came to his birthday, guanghong was used to small celebrations. his birthday was always a little too close other events to really be a big deal, though his parents and relatives would always send him messages, greeting him happy birthday and reminding him to eat noodles to ensure a long life. some years, his aunt and uncle would take him out for a nice dinner, but that was about it. they were too busy most of the time, but guanghong had never minded it-- which was also why he didn’t mind celebrating his birthday outside his own home country. in fact, he looked forward spending it with minami. at least this way, he knew it would be a good day no matter what. 

as far as he knew, they didn’t have anything special planned, but guanghong knew minami well enough to know that there would definitely be some kind of celebration-- but hopefully nothing too over the top. a good meal and some cuddles would be enough to satisfy him.

practice had been fine and the breaks had been spent looking through various social media, reading all the greetings from fans and fellow skaters. there were even a couple of drawings of him, and he made sure to like all the ones he found.

sore and tired from all the physical strain of practice, the moment he was finished guanghong was ready to just take a shower and lie down for a couple of hours. however, as he opens the door to their home, he’s hit by a sweet scent and a dimly lit room, and his curiosity quickly wins over the exhaustion. 

“ minami...? i’m home, ” he calls out softly as he steps inside, locking the door behind him. he can see the shadows of flickering candles, which would also explain the soft scent in the air-- scented candles just sweet enough to be noticeable, but not so much that it was overwhelming. it’s created a calm atmosphere, and it takes a moment for guanghong to realize that part of the serenity came from the silence. there were no loud paws hitting the floor, no excited barking greeting guanghong as he shed his outerwear. 

seems like he had been right in assuming that minami was planning something. 

i’ve never made a bias list on this blog before but i figured i could give it a try since i’ll be leaving this blog soon and i want to show some appreciation for all the great ppl i’ve gotten the honor to rp with or just have seen on my dash! i also reached another follower milestone not too long ago so yeah!! even more of a reason so make this list!

ive had this blog since last november, back when the series was only halfway done, so i’ve meet A Lot of ppl despite being a shy little loaf of bread, so hopefully i didnt forget anyone ;;;;

Happy Birthday my dearest most softest of Bread Rolls @bingtiaowu~! 

        σf cσυяѕє яι∂∂ιиg тнє posters was never an issue, anyone would be willing to take them, even for a price. But a number of these were some he’s had for years, making them a limited-edition; most of them still maintained their condition since Yuuri first got them. He couldn’t trust something as precious as these to a complete stranger. Victor deserved better than that.

        яєℓιєf ωαѕнє∂ σνєя нιм like a wave knowing GuangHong was willing to take them off his hands. He never mentioned the reason he was doing this, not even to Phichit. To put it simply, he was no longer placing his childhood idol-turned-fiancé on a pedestal. Growing to know Victor on a much deeper level, he didn’t feel the need to keep any more than he needed. In his mind it was only right to give them away, to let somebody else find happiness through them just as they did for him. One out of many things he’s learned was the importance of motivating others–he had no reason to be selfish anymore.

          ❝ No no, there’s no need! I just want to give these to somebody I know who’ll take good care of them. It’s all I really ask for. ❞ Yuuri gave one last longing look at them. As silly as it sounds, they held a lot of sentimental value to Yuuri, so it was a very big step for him to be willing enough to give them away. With a small smile he finally holds them out to GuangHong,  ❝ Here. ❞

☆ ┇     they’re definitely going to clash with the baby blue and soft pink aesthetic of his bedroom, but guanghong really doesn’t care. signed posters of viktor nikiforov-- especially one’s in such great condition-- could fit well into any room. he already had a couple of other posters, some really cool ones of his closer skater friends as well, and viktor would look great next to them.

       -- “ thank you! ” he accepts the poster with a big smile, a grin that softens a little as he looks up at yuuri again. somehow, it doesn’t just feel like yuuri is giving away some plain old posters. the two of them might not be very close-- guanghong can only hope that yuuri views him as a friend-- but he can tell there’s importance behind all of this, behind yuuri letting go of the posters. 

       -- “ i promise to take good care of them. ” with the sincerity in his voice, it’s obvious it’s a promise he’ll be able to keep. he would even make sure they remained safe during his trip back home. “ i’m really glad you’re giving these to me, ” his smile widens again then, “ they’ll look great next to that poster i have of you! ”

“Look — we’re still in business. We’ve got two bucks left.”

☆ ┇      “ that’s only enough for two more tries! ” two bucks really isn’t much, but guanghong doesn’t even want to think about how much money they’ve already wasted on this damn claw machine. all he wanted was that adorable teddy bear, but their attempts at getting it with the claw had only barely budged it. “ do you think you can get it in two tries? ”
