like I want you to think about this, what sort of a purpose does 4chan serve nowadays apart from being a centralizing location for nazis/ancaps/white nationalists/etc. & a place for radicalising white dudes who feel like society failed them but don’t know that society failed everyone but the rich & use that to tell them it’s (insert minority here)’s fault. the only other thing I see 4chan do is occasionally post something funny & I don’t think we’d be missing much if that went away, there’s already other websites that post funny stuff & you don’t have to wade through pages of racist, homophobic, transphobic & antisemetic garbage just to find it. both moot & hiroyuki nishimura have blood on their hands here, 4chan has served its time & is now just flies hanging around rotten fruit & the stench is getting worse.

Don't forget to mention that it's a great place to demonstrate just how hopelessly addicted to child porn the right is.

the sweet old lady who had been running one of the best taquerias in rogers park (the area of chicago i grew up in) for like 20 years just died of covid and they’re closing permanently :( she would always give me free seconds when i came in

Fun fact: the guys at our college’s geology department prop out the doors with their samples. I totally understand why but as someone whose work with samples is necessarily super delicate and sterile it fucks me up so bad

lol idk if you watch nautilus live at all but watching them process bio & geo samples side by side evokes exactly this Thing (the descriptions are gold too… “here are the 30 steps we use to preserve bio samples, and as for rocks, well, we let them dry, bag them, & put them in the Rock Box)

in my own experience with geology most precautions with samples are to preserve the life and safety of the geologist, most of the rocks are fine. 

i am continually reminded of one of my colleagues, who wanted to collect a sample of gypsum on a field excursion but was too lazy to take off his backpack and get his rock hammer. so he said “eh, it’s soft enough” just fucking punched the rock until a piece fell off like it was fucking minecraft
