This is an appreciation blog for Camille O'Connell from The Originals as well as the actress who plays her, Leah Pipes.

I love Camille. She sees the best in Klaus, but isn't afraid to tell him when he's being completely unreasonable. And she tells off Mikael. The monster monsters are afraid of. She looks him in the eyes and she defends Klaus and she shows the way Mikael's abuse hurt Klaus. She's so badass.

still in the originals topic, i can't stress enough with the fact that camille was absolutely one of the top five characters. she had great writing, leah pipes delivered a amazing performance, she has parallel storylines some people cross their heart and hope to die swearing by dear life she does not but she has she has a great plot and every single person in that show respected her greatly, even mikael and esther. he recognized her for the warrior heart she had. elijah saying he liked her spirit and that she lived gracefully. davina had cami as a figure of protection. josh was a close friend. vincent was never the same after she's gone. rebekah saying that klaus would listen to her but never to them. freya, that barely knew camille, respecting her autonomy and trying to save her. aurora admired camille's strength, even tho she absolutely hated her. marcel was in love with her, and loved her after their relationship end, for who she was. hayley had a close friendship with cami to the point that they plotted plans together multiple times and hayley is showed devastated after cami dies. kol bringing cami's memory to make a point to klaus, years after she's gone. finn almost fell in love with her. let's not even start with klaus, whose camille's was with no doubt, the epic love. she was the love of his life. kill camille was a ridiculous mistake and the show never recovered from it.

episode 19 showed that Camille wasn't only important to Klaus but to everyone on the show. Freya barely knew her and was still mourning her. Davina risked her life, and so did Vincent just for the sake of trying save her. Marcel is showed crying. Josh is not seeing but mentioned as someone Cami loved and knew enough to leave him personal possessions. we knew Hayley kept in touch with Camille even when Klaus and Cami weren't talking and she loved Camille as a friend so much that she was willing to take hope's blood if that meant Cami would have a chance. even Kol show some feelings towards the fact Camille's is dead. you can't just ignore the fact that she was THEE HEART OF THEIR HISTORY. she was something that somehow kept them connected, stable and offered not only Klaus but also Vincent a light in dark times. hell, Rebekah has scenes where even she aknowledge Cami's importance to all of them and she's barely there.

Camille could never be reduced to "a replacement blonde" or "the annoying human" or "the love interest". She was and will always remain being the person who lead Klaus in a kindness path and not only him. It was a shame the way they did her character, although everyone knows why Leah Pipes could no longer endure playing Camille. still... The Originals absolutely suffered in storyline and quality after she's gone.

Man, who knew a vampire TV show could make me cry over a character's death? Not me. And yet, here I am crying my eyes out as my favourite bartender/psychologist dies in the arms of her soulmate while they relive the moment they meant

(I'm also glad the writers remembered her relationship with Davina, Josh and Elijah when she was writing her will)
