idk how else to say this without sounding mean but: nobody is talented enough to excuse for being a terrible person. unfollow people who prove themselves to be bad people. and i’m not just talking about in fandom or on tumblr - i mean famous people too. stop supporting shitty people because they’re “talented.” i promise there are other talented people who don’t fucking suck.

Personal anecdotes about the 2020 Iowa Caucus:

  • I’m 19 years old and from Iowa but I can’t vote in the Caucus because I’m going to college out of state, and I have class today and no car to get home anyway.
  • My neighbor, a very kind 60-something yo lady, is unable to vote in the Caucus because her back started hurting this morning and she can’t stand up for 3 hours straight.

The Caucus is completely undemocratic. It excludes a significant portion of otherwise eligible voters. Anyone who is unable to be at the specific voting location for the designated 3-hour period is prevented from participating in choosing their representatives. This includes the elderly, the physically disabled, people with temporary or chronic illnesses, parents with small children, people who work evening hours, and anyone who has to be out of town for any reason the day of the caucus. We need a primary instead, with absentee voting as an option.
