Birthday request.
So it’s my birthday today (November 24th) , and I’d like to ask all of you a favor.
The SPN finale last week sent me, and so many other fans, into emotional turmoil. I haven’t experienced anything like that in a long time. I’ve been feeling, in turns, numb, defeated, sad, angry, spiteful, helplessly frustrated and bitterly amused.
So much so that I spent the weekend crafting an alternate script for the episode, and while I’m sure it still leaves much to be desired, I’m really fucking proud of the result, and if there’s one fanwork of mine that I think deserves to get a bit of traction, it’s this one. It was a cathartic experience to write it and I think that it’s honestly better structured and more balanced than the finale was, with a couple of scenes that would never make the final cut but that also aren’t needed in order to make the points I wanted to make.
Now I’m not fandom’s most prominent, or most popular member, I’m someone who operates from the fringe. The number of people I actually interact with is very low, but I know that there are people among my followers who have access to the audience that I want to reach out to.
I would love for all of you, as a personal favor and a birthday gift, to post, reblog, and distribute the link to my script, on whatever social network you’re on, as long as you feel you can in a good conscience do that.
I don’t need comments, or kudos, or birthday wishes, I need the reach.
