Hamilton Pick-Up Lines

@hamiltonpick-uplines

We will write your special someone cathedrals so you don't have to. For wooing that special friend in our Familton. For pursuing your Eliza, but not. Because Eliza was too perfect for there to be another. If she is another Eliza, you are so unworthy.
Also, I'd love to answer any questions or hear stories (involving the use of these lines? ;) ) or talk about theatre etc. My dearest, tumblr, I'd love for you to talk to me. That would be enough.

if you voted by mail-in ballot in PA, MI, WI, NV, NC, and GA:

you can check the status of your ballot online by entering the information associated with your voter registration to check if your ballot was accepted.

pennsylvania voters: check the status of your ballot here

michigan voters: check the status of your ballot here

wisconsin voters: check the status of your ballot here

nevada voters: check the status of your ballot here

north carolina voters: check the status of your ballot here

georgia voters: check the status (how to) of your ballot here

it is vital to the success of this election that you check to see if your vote was accepted, and especially important since it has come down to these six states. please take a few seconds to follow up to make sure your vote was counted!

every state will look different, but for example:

image

this is what it will say on pennsylvania’s ballot status site if your vote has been recorded. if the site does not indicate that your vote has been recorded, please consider following up with a phone call to your county election office or whoever your state dedicates to these issues. if not, keep checking periodically throughout the week to make sure your vote was recorded.

this is so important. there is a lot at stake here. so many people are vulnerable. we need to make sure every. single. vote. is counted to ensure a fair election. your vote matters! please don’t let it stop at just casting the vote, make sure it’s been recorded.

what’s happening in poland right now is fucking terrifying because it shows an escalation in treatment of queer activists. there was a time when, with all the shit happening, queer people didnt have to be scared of police while demonstarting (not saying that they were lgbt- friendly but the problem seemed to be negligeance moreso than straight up violence). i see people calling this the polish stonewall but i feel like this isnt going to be the event that will rally the lgbt community to fight, but a start of a downroad spiral and we need to be ready for it. it’s going to get harder and we need to be ready

me in may 2020: saying "acab" or "fuck the police" in poland is stupid. there are significant differences between american and polish police. these phrases are about completely different issues, which do not apply to polish police. we have different problems and should use different phrases

me in august 2020, an intellectual: fuck the police

I'm sorry, this is unrelated, but...

43 people were arrested yesterday in Poland for hanging the pride flag on the monuments in Warsaw.

They're accused of profanation and may be sentenced to prison.

LGBT and pro life activists are 'visited' by police in their own homes and offices.

They are accused of attacking the nationalist march by hanging the pride flag on their own balcony.

When I talk with older people, for example my coach, he says I was attacked a year ago at pride because I provoked. Provoked? By wearing a pride tie and a flag? By walking on the street, fully dressed, not even shouting?

Now police is catching any protesters they can, these 43 people are missing, their families don't know what happened to them. They were only protesting against LGBT activist being taken away under arrest.

Some of leftist politicians, whom now I trust, stepped in to prevent the police violence against young people, covering them, (one of girls caught was being held by two policemen, one stepping over her head).

Also, a commission was formed, paid by our taxes, to prevent 'breaking law under influence of gender and LGBT ideology'. So basically, an organization fighting against human rights, being supported by government.

Last but not least, the minister Ziobro tries to abandon Istanbul convention, the one that mentions home violence and child abuse, calling it unnecessary. Yeah, the law protecting victims of domestic abuse is no5 needed at all, they want to pass the law where first act of violence doesn't count , of course it doesn't count, she wasn't killed, tho, am I right? It's very personal to me, because my grandma and my father were victims of domestic abuse for many years, leading to many psychological issues for my dad, and the death of my grandma, whose husband did not even noticed her dying next to him of lung and spine cancer, due to his alcoholism.

These are serious issues, they're not hypothetical.

The nationalist can march with their swastikas on the streets, unbothered. They can yell, they can destroy public places, they can harm people, but not even a half of the police force that attends the LGBT protest is present then.

Poland is not democratic, it's a shell of a country, and the rule of Law and Order party (PiS) is going to continue for the next 5 years.

It's not a safe place for any LGBT+ people, please spread the word. It's not safe for women , because of rape culture and lack of respect for reproductive rights, (the Ordo Iuris, catholic fundamentalists organisation, specialising in hunting women who used day after pill, or try to have abortion, or try to escape abusive home/relationship). It's not safe for anyone thinking anything else than ruling party.

Anyway, ***** *** ( 8 stars - jebać PiS, /fuck PiS/)

I'm just so sad that a place where I want to live like a human becomes a massive shit.

…and, at the time of his death, he was one of the most hated people in the USA.

The FBI sent him a letter trying to convince him to commit suicide. Don’t let this revisionist bullshit slide. The things they say now about protests, kneeling, etc, are the same things they said about the sit-ins and marches.

respectability politics is a trap.

respectability politics is a trap.

Look at this vintage political cartoon. Reactions to MLK and BLM are near identical.

If anti-maskers existed during WWII

Okay, here’s the thing though. It isn’t a question of if. They existed and this is exactly what they did.

After the United States entered World War II at the end of 1941 and Germany subsequently declared war upon it, Great Britain recommended several steps the United States should take in order to safeguard their ships from Nazi u-boats. Recommendations included sailing ships in convoy (preferably with escort, but records proved ships in convoy without escort were still safer than ships sailing alone), if a ship had to sail on its own, it should avoid known navigation routes and markers, and towns and cities along the East Coast should adhere to strict blackouts at night. These recommendations came from the previous two years of experience in which u-boats absolutely ran wild in the North Atlantic and North Sea, obliterating British shipping. This period of time was referred to by Nazi u-boat captains as “The First Happy Time”.

Despite British warnings, the United States was slow to follow them and impose restrictions. Ships continued to sail along marked navigation routes and run standard navigation lights at night. Boardwalk communities along the coast were only requested they turn off their lights at night and the cities weren’t even asked that because they didn’t want to offend the tourism, recreation, and business sectors

Blacking out coastal communities would have made it infinitely harder for Nazi submarines to find and sink targets. A ship running with no lights is still visible against the backdrop of a lit city.

Conversely, a dark ship running against a dark coast is virtually invisible.

But because citizens living on the coast refused to adhere to wartime suggestions for amenity reasons, merchant ships sailing up and down the East Coast became sitting ducks of u-boats. The US government did not begin strictly enforcing blackouts until roughly August 1942. By then, the Nazis had been given 8 months to run rampant along American shores. This time period was referred to by u-boat captains as “The Second Happy Time” or “American Shooting Season”.

By August, Nazi u-boats had sunk 609 merchant vessels, totaling 3.1 million tons and costing thousands of lives, mostly of merchant mariners performing their essential jobs.

By comparison, only 22 u-boats were sunk.

While the failure of coastal blackouts were not the sole reason the Nazis had such success during this time period (the Navy was slow to implement convoys and remove notable aids to navigation along the coast), I do not think it can be argued they did not contribute significantly to such great loss of American lives.

If you can, please read the reply above or save it for whenever you have time. We need to break the habits of our history and that starts with applying our past to our present.

Total truth. I’ve ask your parents about this shit. I found out my dad’s HOA that he is a part of has minimum house sizes that are ridiculous and he will straight up say it’s to protect housing costs. But I call him out. Like you keep talking about wanting to build a tiny home dad, wtf is this about?

And that the wealthiest, most powerful people who are committing crimes against humanity aren’t policed heavy because they own the police? I hope we all realize this.

The police are the buffer between the wealthy and the poor, tasked with protecting and enforcing capitalism. I know you’ve been told it’s about crime, but I beg you to look closer. End ID]
