Say “We need to talk” …and I’ll generate a starter for what our muses have to have a serious talk about and/or confess:@ifeeltaller

13. My muse is in love with your muse

“There is nothing to talk about Steve.”  Of course there was, but Bucky was not about to admit to anything when it came to whatever it was that he was feeling. It did not seem to matter regardless, not after everything that he had seen, not after everything that they had been through over the past through days.  It had been as if there had been another war, and this time he walked out more or less whole.  “Why are you even bringing this up now?”

He knew why, because of what he had decided to do to protect everyone. The cryo tube was the only logical option he saw, and it was not as if Steve would be alone.  Steve wasn’t that same punk from Brooklyn that he had fallen for so long ago, and Bucky wasn’t sure that Steve needed him.

“You know me so well,” Steve replied, grinning slightly. “And you can bet your ass that I’m gonna make sure it’s a long line.” He looked at Bucky, smiling

“We’re both in our nineties Steve, we’re not exactly spring chickens anymore,” he said with a bit of a smile.

Tony smiled just a bit and nodded, leaning down to press a kiss to the scar gently. “To my voice? Or to Steve’s? Or  both?” He asked, wanting it to be Bucky’s choice. It didn’t matter to him anyways because he knew Bucky love him but maybe Bucky didn’t trust him to have control over his arm.

“Both.”  It was a simple decision for him to make.  Of course he loved Tony, and that was why he wanted him to have that control.  Steve because most missions he was on, he was with the Captain.  He wanted to keep his soulmate, and his best friend safe, even if it meant keeping them safe from him.

The young wanna be cop froze, staring up at the large man in front of him, swallowing thickly. He playfully reached up, patting the mans chest before backing away, “Closest gyms that a-way, big guy.” he stated nervously, not wanting back lash from any potential roid rage.

Bucky looked towards the young man who had spoken, his brow raised slightly in mock amusement.  “That so? What makes you think I’m looking for one?”

It was difficult for him to grasp that notion, he would have thought that HYDRA was gone —– he knew what they could do first hand, but the thought of them still around was irritating to say the very least. If they were around, things were going to be more difficult, but that was a thought for another time.

“I was so young during the War. I didn’t yet realize what was going on —- It has been years, but I thought the last remains were obliterated.” Again, it seemed he had been wrong, but that didn’t exactly mean he was displeased with the situation. It was something that was slightly shocking in his mind, but still there all the same.

“You should know, it’s impossible for one person to destroy something like HYDRA, but let’s simply say that… I am willing to help eliminate them.” Mainly for what they had done to Mutants.

“Improbable,” Bucky replied, looking over towards another with a certain level of respect in his dark eyes. Of course on some level he did know that it was foolish for one man to try and take on the entire organization.  “They created me, I intend to pay them back for such kindness.”  The venom that dripped from his lips was not one easily forgotten.  It mixed with the anger and the hatred that he felt for them, and amplified it.

“But if you are willing to help eliminate them, I would be a fool to refuse such an offer.” Should he offer his hand?  Should he try and show some level of the humanity that was taken from him?  “James Buchanan Barnes, the Winter Soldier.”

he wasn’t sure what to do or say, merely allowing bucky to do whatever it was he needed to do in order to get them the hell out of here ALIVE and get rid of those agents who were after them in the process of such. he still felt awful for what he had done, for triggering his best friend back into a state that hydra embedded within his brain, a state that had caused him to hurt and kill people, one that steve had wanted to protect him for for the rest of his life and yet now, he had TRIGGERED it instead of preventing it; the complete and utter opposite of what he had promised to do. he had to continue telling himself there was no other way out of this situation other than doing this, there was no way of them BOTH getting out alive unless the opposing male truly knew what he was doing, and he had to, unfortunately, become triggered for such to happen.

as soon as the mask was handed to him, no time was wasted as he adjusted it to fit against his profile despite the confusion that ran rampant throughout his veins, not knowing what bucky was about to do, but he TRUSTED that he was trying to keep him safe, keep him ALIVE. the second the gas suddenly filled the air proved as much before he was tugged along in order to get out of sight with the winter soldier, feet bounding along the ground in a hurried  and frantic manner to get away from the gas that had now eroded the air; deathly, sickly, violent – they had to get away from there as soon as possible, take out any of those who managed to escape and follow their route. he trusted bucky, he had to otherwise this entire thing would go WRONG; he had to put all his faith in him, he was the one in charge now, HE was calling the shots.

The Soldier kept moving, silent beyond the occasional sound of his gun going off towards one of those who had managed to escape the gas and follow them.  His duty, his responsibility and purpose in that moment was for him to get the Captain out of the base alive.  In the state that he was, he knew exactly how to do that, and which turns to make through the tunnel.  It was elaborate, designed so that only those who knew the exact path would survive.  Others?  There were dead ends, pits that dropped down to a bottom filled with spikes, or frozen water.  Bear traps that would snap the limbs of those unfortunate enough to step into one, or a panel that would slide shut and the walls would follow shortly crushing anyone caught in between.

But he knew the way out.  He knew the panel that he had to press his palm to, to open the door that led to the garage. He knew the code that would seal the rest of the doors once they were out. There were no vehicles, but that did not surprise him, after all, there really was not much left there of importance beyond what was they had already recovered.  The last packet of the serum that had created the soldiers.

He would look back, make sure that the other was following him. They would get out alive, all they had to do was make it through the open door, and then he could seal those inside with the gas and there would be no loose ends.  The soldier all but shoved the Captain through the door, before he followed him outside.  He dusted off the panel and punched in the code, the door slamming shut behind them.

“We are outside Captain.”

five word prompts-

‘–Steve had a look of confusion yet disappointment on his face, sighing softly. Hearing these words from his best friend brought a lump of guilt to his stomach and throat.

—You were never forgotten.

“You may not have forgotten...” Bucky stared at the glass in his hands.  It was empty, and really there was no point in refilling it, it would make no difference beyond possibly helping him to fall asleep.  Even then there was no promise of that.  “I forgot everything Steve.  Each day another bit of who I was, was chipped away.”
