You guys should watch PBS documentary on Evangelical Christians who are against abortions but are pro gun rights. The way they think makes absolutely no sense.

It makes perfect sense when you realize that they’re not really Christians. They’re white nationalists aka racists hiding behind the bible. They utilize the fight against abortion to disguise their white nationalist baby breeding agenda.

I feel like, as a Christian, I have something to contribute to this.

First of all, let me explain the reasoning behind the people who do this: In their brains, they ARE Christian. They think they are following the Bible perfectly and doing everything right. They simply think that everyone else has fallen into sin and they believe that they are doing good in doing stuff like this. Most of them (though not all) truly believe they are doing the right thing. Yes, a lot of them are racists and that sucks a lot. However, they are not using the Bible as an 'excuse' to say things like this, but rather think the Bible is telling them they should. I'm not trying to defend them in any way, I'm just trying to explain their side of the story.

While I do not personally support abortion, NEVER would I EVER do this to someone. I may not support a woman's choice of abortion, but I do respect her rights as a human being. I just really hope that people realize that not all Christians are like this. Some churches are just chock full of really mean people, but if you find the right church, you can find those who are respectful, supportive, everything you look for in a decent human being.

Please, when you read stories like this, don't assume that everyone is like this. Yes, this person is an asshole, but that doesn't mean I am. And please keep in mind that by dissing that asshole, you are no better than they are.

This Comedian Nails Why The Mental Illness + Creativity Connection is Ridiculous

I used to really worry that medications would harm my creativity and it’s part of why I resisted taking them. It hasn’t. If anything it’s allowed me to be more focused and able to complete things. My imagination hasn’t changed just because I’m on anti-depressants.

a lot of my family didnt want me to start medications because they thought it would impact my ability to create, and I believed them. Now im getting better and better with my art because i dont have to fight through the brainfog or the constant panic attacks and can dedicate my energy to my work. Antidepressents didnt take my emotions away, they made them easier to handle.

This was one of the reasons my mother didn’t put me on meds

Word to this. While my art may have developed as a coping mechanism initially (key words: -may have-), I’m at my most creative and productive when my head isn’t clouded and worn down by mental illness. When I express my woes and people say “HEY AT LEAST YOU’RE CREATIVE” it’s such an insulting oversimplification and misunderstanding of how creativity and mental illness interact.

I can’t believe some people actually believe this still. 

As for me, I create my art out of the JOY I have for life!! And it seems to work quite well :)

I had very severe mental health issues (that even led to hospitalization) and took meds, mom hated it and said that I’m ‘not me’ and that it’s the meds and how I used to create a lot. Eventually she convinced me to stop. It was so much worse. Yeah I was sleeping less and my thoughts flowed freely. Way too freely. I could not contain a single thought without an endless strings of thoughts that would eventually lead to a panic attack and did not allow creating. Creating helps, but it shouldn’t cancel out therapy and meds and other things that help. And getting help and functioning better, doesn’t cancel the passion to create. I’m an artist Always was The need increased when things got bad When things got worse the ability to art stopped And now I’m in a better place Still an artist Still struggling. But the two aren’t a couple. I know ppl who struggle and don’t art And I want to know that if I ever manage to get better it won’t be instead of my art Art is a part of me Mental illness is unfortunately a part of me Doesn’t mean that art is a part of mental illness or vice versa

13 REASONS WHY REVIEW📼 13 Reasons Why is a new Netflix tv show about a girl named Hannah Baker, who committed suicide and left behind 13 tapes explaining why she did it; the first season of show is on Netflix and consists of 13 episodes, each one being a reason. I read the book years ago, and overall I liked the show. It deals with very serious and important topics such as suicide, abuse, and bullying, in a very realistic way without sugarcoating anything; most tv shows wouldn’t dare discuss or show these types of topics because they’re afraid ratings would drop because they’re so serious and even though scenes were graphic, it was important for the show to show everything in all its seriousness because that’s how things are in real life. A lot of people have told me they didn’t continue the show because it was too graphic or that they felt sad watching it, but the truth is that these things happen every day and the overall message of the show is very important and relevant. The show didn’t have too much of the useless filler teen drama that most shows do. Almost every episode had something important that contributed something to the overall story. 13 Reasons Why was really liked by most teenagers and young adults most probably because we’re the generation that sees this happening in real life and we understand the importance & seriousness of it. I’ll say it again, even if the show is serious and dark, it is important because it raises awareness of bullying, abuse, and suicide - topics a lot of people avoid talking about but this show outright talks about it and sends the message of: “This is happening. People get bullied, abused, and kill themselves everyday, and that’s not okay. We need to be aware of that and the fact that you never know what’s going on in someone’s life. Being a good person is the most important thing you can be, and it can greatly effect someone.” 8.5/10⭐️
