A very soft, intimate Lin x Bumi II fic by the lovely @chiefbeifongcanrailme which includes Lin and Bumi reminiscing sweetly about their legendary uncle. I came for the Uncle Sokka but stayed for the top-tier Linumi characterization and dynamic. This one has my heart.

For me, it was about Linumi, but to you it was Uncle Sokka's legacy. And if that doesn't go to show how it's not about what you put in and all about what you get out of it- I don't what else will.

Spirit's Cursed Game

I saw an amazing post about Bumi being "one good looking man" and so I had to go ahead and have Lin think about it.

Lin had probably seen him a million times, but never before had she laid eyes on him the way she did a week ago.

She knew he was handsome- at least, some thought he might be, if his sexual escapades were something to go off on and yet, she found herself only now realizing that Bumi was in fact a handsome man.

For the most part he annoyed her. On most days, she avoided him and his stories. He made the worst jokes and he was in terrible shape too- retirement was not becoming of him- and even still, Lin couldn't get him out of her head.

She had been smiling at the thought of him. Some cursed game played by the spirits and she was but a pawn.

There had to be something wrong. Something ought to be awry.

He had consumed her mind and she'd rather bleed herself dry.

Bumi and Bumi and his face and his lips, his eyes and his wild hair and more Bumi.

She was possessed.

Cursed by the games of a wicked spirit.

It had been a week since she noticed how handsome Bumi was. How kind his heart was. How free his soul was. He was everything and nothing to her in the same breath.

She needed to rid herself of this fluttering filth in her belly.

So she began at the source. She marched up to Air Temple Island, fists clenched and jaw tightened. A woman on a mission. An end to the curse.

She would soon be clean.

She had admissions and confessions.

But little did she know, so did Bumi as he stood in front of her, flowers in hand beginning to greet her.
