Going Against The Code

@martinskistory / martinskistory.tumblr.com

A Stydia AU (with a little bit of Scallison) Stiles and Allison Argent aren't part of a typical family. Their dad has trained the both of them to hunt and kill werewolves. They moved back to their hometown, Beacon Hills, with their dad, Chris Argent, after hearing news of a werewolf pack. Not wanting to stand out, Stiles calls upon his old friend, Scott McCall, to show him and his sister around. What they don't know is Scott and a few of his friends aren't too thrilled about their arrival.

Where did you go :/

I am so sorry. Tbh, I've gotten a little lazy with writing due to lack of motivation (aka no Teen Wolf)But, I will try to brainstorm and get my muse back. I'll try to have something posted by the end of the week.

Going Against The Code (Part 27)

Lydia’s POV:

That night, my pack had a meeting about the hunt tomorrow. Scott didn’t address me once, except to remind me what my role was. I had to stay hidden and if Stiles showed up and tried to hurt anyone in my pack, I was supposed to stop him and kill him. I didn’t want to, how could I? But if I didn’t, I would be removed from the pack and that would make me a lone wolf. Most lone wolves never manage to live very long. Hunters find them a lot easier that way and with the Argents around, I knew I couldn’t afford to be alone. My only hope at keeping my pack and Stiles was to try and convince him not to go. Easier said than done. I was walking home from the meeting, instead of running. I wanted some time to think, plus it was a really nice night. Headlights came behind me then a car rushed by. Not just any car, a jeep. I watched the car drive for a moment then stop on the side of the road. I smiled then walked up to it and the car window was already rolled down. I stuck my head into the car a little ways and spoke immediately. “Are you following me now? Seriously, what are the chances that—” I trailed off when my eyes fixed on his face. His eyes were red and his cheeks were tear stained. He had been crying. As soon as I saw that, I opened the car door and stepped in closer to him. “Stiles, what’s wrong?” I asked, lightly placing my hands on cheeks. He opened his mouth to talk, but the sobs overcame him and I leaned into him and held him close, his head tucked into my shoulder. I gently stroked his hair and leaned my head against his. Normally, I hated it when guys cried. It seemed really weak and unmanly to me, but now as I had Stiles crying in my arms as I comforted him, it didn’t seem so unmanly. It seemed sad and it made me want to protect him. The wolf in me wanted to find out who did this to him and tear out their throat, but that seemed a little extreme. Stiles finally quieted down and pulled away, leaning his forehead against mine. I looked up at him and frowned. “What’s wrong?” I whispered, concerned in every way possible. He shook his head, gently. “Do you have time for a car ride?” He asked me and nodded my head. I kissed his forehead then pulled away and walked around the car and got in. We drove for a few minutes in silence before he told me what happened. He explained that he found out that he was adopted and that his biological father lived here in Beacon Hills. I felt really sympathetic for him, but at the same time, I thought about the chance I had to warn him. He felt so betrayed by his family that now would be the time to turn him against them, but I didn’t want to take advantage of him. “I’m so sorry.” I mumbled, knowing my apologies wouldn’t do anything. Stiles didn’t say anything and he became distant. I looked out the window then back at him. “Where are we going?” I asked. “The police station.” “You.. You want to meet your dad?” “Of course, I want to hear his side and— I don’t know what I expect to happen. I just really need to see him.” I nodded my head then reached towards him and grabbed his hand. He squeezed it, lightly. We pulled up to the sheriff’s station and Stiles parked the car up in front. He was silent and still. All he did was stare at the police station. You could see through the windows that there were people inside. Anyone of them could be Stiles’ real dad. After about ten minutes of silence, I glanced over at Stiles. “Are you gonna go in?” I asked in almost a whisper. Stiles shook his head. “I don’t think I can.. At least, not today.” I nodded. It was okay that he wasn’t ready. He barely found out about this less than an hour ago. I knew now wasn’t the right moment to warn him about the hunt, but I was running out of time. I opened my mouth to talk, but when nothing came out, I simply sighed. “Do you want to go somewhere else? I’ll stay with you all night if you want me to.” I promised. Stiles shook his head again. “No, I want to stay here if you don’t mind.” “You just want to stare at the station?” I asked and he looked at me. “Is that weird?” He asked like it was his main concern and all I could do was smile a little. “No, it’s not.” I unbuckled my seatbelt and crawled over to his seat, wrapping my arms around him and sitting in his lap. It wasn’t in a sexual way. I was trying to comfort him and it seemed to work because his blank expression finally changed into a gentle smile. I leaned my head against his and pressed a soft kiss to his forehead. His arm went around my waist and I leaned into him. We sat like this for while before he spoke. “Thank you, Lydia.” He mumbled. I pulled back a bit to look at him. “For what?” I asked with a hint of a smile. “For being the only person in my life that can make me smile right now.” I grinned then leaned in and kissed his lips. We kissed for a moment. It wasn’t heated or passionate like I was used to. It was sweet, tender, and kind. It gave my stomach butterflies and made my heart race. His kisses were intoxicating. And distracting.

Yes, I'm sorry for not posting anything. My aunt lost her fight with cancer and I recently attended her funeral. It hit me pretty hard so I've been procrastinating on writing lately. I'm really sorry.

Going Against The Code (Part 26)

Allison’s POV:

After school, I waited by my brother’s jeep as he said goodbye to Lydia. As much as I hated the mushy gushy part of relationships, I had to admit that they were pretty cute. Plus, I was glad that Stiles was finally in a relationship and was being a normal teenager for once. And he was happy which, as his sister, made me happy. I watched Lydia give him the last few kisses, ew, then they finally pulled away from each other long enough to actually say goodbye. She kissed him one last time and Stiles made his way to his car. I waved at him with a smug look and he rolled his eyes. “How long have you been there?” He asked and I shrugged. “Say, do you ever kiss Lydia first?” I asked and he stopped in front of me with a puzzled look. “Why?” “Because it looked like she was the one kissing you. You’re giving her all the power, you wimp.” I teased and I could tell he was getting a little irritated. “For your information, I’ve kissed her before.” I raised an eyebrow. “Once and awkwardly?” He glared at me then flipped me off and got into his car. I laughed then got into the passenger’s side and we were on our way. We went out into the forest so Stiles could practice and I could teach him everything he needed to know for the hunt. It took longer than I expected, but eventually he got pretty good. He was already pretty handy with a gun, but we were taught how to use one when we were like ten. I taught him all the basic traps and tricks to hunting a werewolf, many of which he already knew, just never actually done before. By the time we were done, it was late. Neither of us thought to bring our phones so I didn’t know the exact time. “Thank you, Allison.” Stiles almost whispered as we made our way back to his Jeep. I shrugged with a smile. “It’s no biggie. Dad was never gonna teach you this stuff, so I might as well.” “Not just for that though. Tomorrow, I’m going to get a chance to prove myself to dad and I wouldn’t be able to do that without your help, so thank you.” I smiled to myself for a moment, basking in the glory of being an awesome sister. “Like I said, it was no biggie.” We came up to the car and Stiles and I noticed a flash coming from the it. Stiles opened the passenger door and grabbed his phone, where the flashing was coming from. Someone tried calling him. Stiles scrolled through his phone then sighed. “Uh oh..” “What?” “Dad called.. Eleven times.” My eyes widened. We were out longer than we thought we’d be and we forgot to make up an excuse. I’m sure he was livid. “Shit..” I mumbled. “He left a voicemail. I’ll put it on speaker.” I watched him press play the waited to hear our dad’s voice. “I don’t know where you are or what you’re doing,” It started out. “but you better get home now. I am beyond upset with you two. You better have been captured, or at least attached, by werewolves. Otherwise, there’s no excuse for not being here right now. Get home. Now.” The message ended. He didn’t yell. He remained perfectly calm. We were so fucked. Stiles drove home as quickly as he could, running a few red lights and speeding through stop signs. I was thankful that the police weren’t around, for more than one reason. When we were home we rushed inside and our dad was waiting for us in the living room. I gulped and glanced at Stiles. We both had the same paranoid look. We stepped into the living room, side by side, and waited for our father to speak. “Where were you two?” He asked, still calm. Like how he was on the phone. “We.. have a new lead that we wanted to—” “You’re lying, Allison.” He interrupted and I stopped in my tracks. Stiles looked over at me then spoke up. “I’m on the lacrosse team.” I shot him a look and shook my head, lightly. My dad would call him out on his lie, I already knew it. “We stayed after school for a lacrosse scrimmage.” He continued. “It went a little later than we expected.” “Obviously.” Was he actually going to believe him? “We’re sorry for not telling you. We just knew you wouldn’t have approved.” Stiles finished off and I glanced up at my dad’s emotionless expression. It was always impossible to tell what he was thinking. “That would be fine if you too weren’t lying to me.” Shit.. “I got a call from your coach and he wanted to know how I’d be paying for your gear.” Stiles chuckled, nervously. “Yeah, about that..” “And there was no game, was there?” Stiles sighed and shook his head. “No, sir.” “So, you lied and you had your sister lie?” I hated when our dad did that. He always made everything Stiles’ fault, even if it wasn’t. Stiles knew better than to argue so he sighed and nodded his head. “Yes, sir.” He mumbled. “See, this is why you can’t go on hunts. How can I trust you to do something so complex when you can’t even—” “I did it.” I interrupted and they both snapped their heads in my direction. “What?” My dad asked. “I offered to help Stiles train for the hunt tomorrow.” He shook his head, furiously. “Absolutely not. Allison, what have I told you about building him up when you know he can’t go on hunts?” “Why?” Asked Stiles, demandingly. My eyes flickered to my dad and prayed that today wasn’t the day. “Because you’re not ready.” “But I’m ready now. Allison taught me and if you would just teach me yourself, then I would be just as good as her.” Our dad shook his head again. “I don’t care what you may think, you’re not going on the hunt and that’s final.” Stiles hands balled into fists and I tried to put a hand on his shoulder to calm him down, but it was too late. “No, dad. That’s not final. That’s a bullshit excuse and you know it. You’ve been saying that to me for years and I’ve never gotten any closer to being ready. So, what’s the real reason I can’t go with you guys?” My dad sighed and shook his head. “Stiles, I can’t—” “Tell me!” Stiles demanded. “Because I can’t have you getting hurt!” Stiles looked confused with his eyebrows scrunched together. “But Allison goes all the time.. Why can she go, but not me?” It got really quiet and stared at my dad, shaking my head. Not like this, I wanted to tell him. Stiles caught me then jerked his shoulder away from my hand. “Wait, you know too? You’re both keeping something from me?! What is it? I want to know, I can handle it.” “Stiles..” I began, but he completely ignored me. “Tell me!” He repeated. There was more silence. I could tell both my dad and Stiles were equally frustrated, I just wasn’t sure who would crack first. Stiles became impatient. “God dammit, tell me!” “You’re not my son!” My dad yelled, losing his cool. “Dad!” I said, disapprovingly. Of all the ways to tell him, that wasn’t it. Stiles’ fists went limp and his expression was hard to read. “W-what?” “I’m sorry, but you’re not an Argent and I can’t put someone else’s kid on the line like that. It’s not my place.” “I.. I don’t understand.. I’m not… not an Argent?” He asked and my dad shook his head with a pinch of sympathy. “Who am I?” Stiles asked, looking lost. He reminded me of the ugly duckling that couldn’t find his place in the world. “You’re a Stilinski.” My father answered and Stiles looked even more confused, but this time he looked broken as well. “You see,” my dad explained. “Sheriff Stilinski is your real dad. When you were only two, your mother died from something called frontotemporal dementia. It causes the brain to shrink until eventually..” He trailed when he noticed the horrific look on Stiles’ face. He continued, “Your father became unfit to raise you. He was an alcoholic and was always leaving you in our care, so it was like you were apart of our family all along. When we decided to leave Beacon Hills, he begged me to take you with us. He knew what a terrible parent he had become and wanted to give you something better and he felt like that was us. We never officially adopted you, but we still raised you as our own.” Stiles didn’t say anything. He fought back the tears that were appearing in his eyes then looked back at me. “You knew this?” He whispered. Tears that I didn’t even know were forming in my eyes trailed down my cheeks. “Yes..” I mumbled and he shook his head, lightly. “But Stiles, I’m still you’re sister. We’re still a team.” “This family is nothing, but a bunch of liars and manipulators.. I’m glad I’m not actually apart of it.” I knew he didn’t mean it. I knew he was hurt with all of us and that only made me want to comfort him. I stepped forward to embrace him with a hug, but he dodged my hug and circled around me to walk out the door. I glanced at my dad through wet eyes. “That was no way to tell him!” I practically shrieked at him. I ran after Stiles, calling his name, but by the time I was outside he was already driving away in his Jeep. And I didn’t know if I would ever see him again.

Going Against The Code (Part 25)

Lydia’s POV:

During class, I sent Scott a text message, telling him to call an important lunch meeting with the rest of the guys. After seeing that Stiles had the bestiary, I knew I had to let everyone else know too. Stiles was a little disappointed that I couldn’t have lunch with him, but I just told him I was leaving to get something for that certain time of the month and he didn’t question any further. We’ve had emergency lunch meetings before, so after the fourth or fifth time Scott called for one, we decided it was best to have a meeting area. It wasn’t much of a “meeting area” it was just Scott’s house. We figured it was smarter than talking out in the open. I was the last one to arrive, and once I did they were all quick to question. “What’s this all about, Lydia?” Scott asked and Ethan looked over at him. “Wait, I thought you were calling this meeting?” “Lydia asked me to.” “I didn’t know we could do that!” Aiden glared at him. “This so isn’t the time.” I cleared my throat to get their attention and everyone looked at me. “So?” Isaac asked. I reached into my bag and pulled out the book Stiles gave me and tossed it on the desk Scott was standing behind. They all looked at it then back at me. “Where did you get this?” Scott asked, holding the book up. “Stiles had it.” I explained. “I’m not sure how he found it, but he did. I only have it now because I said help him translate it.” “Wait, what?!” Scott seemed angry. “It was the only way I could get it to show it to you guys. Besides, this one-“ “No, not that. You’re still with Stiles?!” “Yeah, they’re official now too.” Aiden told Scott before I could say anything. “Aiden!” I yelled, glaring at him. He shrugged, “What? It’s a miracle he didn’t find out until now. The most popular girl in school finally decides to get a boyfriend and it’s the dorkiest kid this school could offer. It’s all anyone can manage to talk about.” I crossed my arms then Ethan stepped in. “I think Aiden is trying to say that everyone sees it as a big deal.” I rolled my eyes and looked back at Scott, who had the same angry look. “I thought I told you to end it with him.” “And I thought I told you that you’re not my dad.” I countered. “Look, Scott if you just let me show you..” I reached to take the book, but Scott pulled it away from me. “This can’t continue any longer, Lydia.” I looked at him. “Scott, prioritize! I called this meeting for a reason.” “No, I’m the alpha. So, you have to listen to what I have to say first.” I stayed quiet and leaned against the desk. “Since you’ve showed no interest in leaving Stiles, I now have to give you a choice.” I raised an eyebrow then he continued. “If Stiles is at the hunt tomorrow night then you have to be the one to take care of him.” Everyone look at Scott in astonishment, even me. “Scott, I thought we weren’t about killing people unless it’s really necessary. It’s what separates us from being monsters.” “I don’t care. I gave you a choice earlier and you didn’t take it. Now, the choice has gotten harder. If you did what I said before, then this wouldn’t be, as you said, necessary.” “But I got the book back because I’m with him!” I said, a little more desperate then I intended. “Yes, but now your loyalty to your pack, as well as your judgment, has been slipping. I’m sorry, Lydia but if he’s there and tries to attack one of us, then you must finish this.” “And if I don’t?” I asked. “Then, I will and you’ll be removed from the pack.” Someone gasped, but I wasn’t sure who. How could he do this to me? Scott was supposed to be my best friend, but right now he was acting like the enemy. I wasn’t sure when it happened, but I felt a tear run down my cheek. “Scott, please.. You can’t do this.” “I just did.” He said, emotionlessly. I didn’t even know who he was right now. He was acting how an Argent would act, cold and heartless. “He’s important to me, Scott.” I continued to plead. “You’re pack should be important to you.” “You know it is!” Then, I guess we all know what’ll be happening tomorrow night.” The conversation was over. He had that look. It said his mind was made up and there was no changing it. For once, I had no idea what I should do, or even what I could do. How could Scott make me pick? I stood in silence for a while, then I opened the book and threw it on the desk. “It’s our book.” I said, quietly. “It’s the book after I translated it. The person who took it wanted Stiles to find it.” Scott read through the book then I snatched it away and put it back in my bag, as I walked away. “Be here tomorrow at five.” I stopped in my tracks to listen then walked away, not knowing what I was going to do. Not knowing how to deal. And just, not knowing.

Going Against The Code (Part 24)

Stiles POV:

I woke up in the morning to the sound of an alarm clock. I wasn’t even aware that I had one, let alone set it to go off. I turned in my bed to face it and smacked the top to turn it off. When I opened my eyes, and my vision became clear, I saw a sticky note attached to the clock. I peeled it off and read it. It said, “You have to be school early for lacrosse and I didn’t want you to be late. See you at school. Lydia” I smiled at the note and then I actually noticed she wasn’t in my room anymore. I didn’t know if she slept here or if she left after I fell asleep, but I knew we stayed up late talking until I dozed off. There was more on the note. “P.S. don’t forget to make your lunch” I chuckled then decided to get out of bed. I glanced at the clock to see the time and it was six. I frowned. I hated waking up so early, but I might as well make the most and get in the shower before Allison. I showered, got dressed, then woke up Allison. She was surprised to see me up so early. Usually, she was the one trying to wake me up. She got in the shower and I went downstairs and into the kitchen. There was two brown sacks waiting for us, as usual. My dad left before any of us woke up and today was no exception. It made me wonder how early he got up everyday. I threw away the lunch he made me and through together a ham sandwich. Wasn’t the most amazing meal ever, but it was definitely better than PB&J. By the time Allison and I got to school, it was almost seven, but that was because she took forever to get ready. I never understood why girls took so long and I don’t think I ever will. Apparently, the only reason I needed to be at school so early was took get my jersey. I was pretty excited to get it, but I’m sure it could’ve waited until our next practice. I grabbed my jersey from the coach and tried to find something to do for the next half hour. Allison decided to go off with Scott so I was left alone. I went to my locker to put my jersey in my locker and to get the books I needed for my first class when someone snuck up behind. “Boo!” She said, wrapping her arms around me and giggling, softy. I turned to see who it was, but I could already guess who. I saw Lydia, smiling up at me and keeping her arms wrapped around me. I chuckled and kissed her forehead. “Hey, thanks for waking me up at six in the morning.” I said, sarcastically. She smirked and shrugged. “I didn’t want you to be late.” “Well, you could’ve stayed and woke me up yourself. It would’ve been a much nicer way to wake up.” She chuckled, “I had to get up at five thirty so I could walk home, so don’t complain to me.” She did stay the night. Knowing this made my smile turn into a grin. “I could’ve drove you home.” “I didn’t mind walking.” She kissed my lips, softly and I made a mental note to actually kiss her first. She’s always kissed me first so far. Made sense though, I’m scared out of my mind at sucking at it. “Hey, wanna see something cool?” I asked Lydia and she nodded. “Always.” I opened my locker back up to show her my jersey, but before I could say anything, she spoke first. “What’s that?” She asked and looked at what she was pointing at. It was the book I found in the library about all the different creatures. “It’s just a book.” She seemed intrigued with it so I pulled it out and handed it to her. There was no way for her to figure out that I was a werewolf hunter from that book. A sci-fi nerd, maybe, but definitely not a hunter. Lydia studied the book and flipped through a few pages. I didn’t get what her interest was with the book. It looked just like every other one. “Bestiary?” She asked, reading the title. I raised my eyebrows. “How did you read that? It took me days just read the title.” “You mean, you haven’t read it yet?” She asked, almost in a teasingly way. “Some of it. Part of it’s in English, but the other part is in code, or something.” She chuckled. “It’s Latin.. well, a form of it.” “You can read Latin. Why am I not surprised?” “Because I’m awesome.” She said, with a playfully smile. I smirked. “Do you think you can translate that for me?” She paused as she flipped through the book some more. “Why so interested in it?” She asked and I shrugged. “It just seems like something cool. I already read part of it, I’d like to know what the rest of it says.” She pursed her lips and looked like she was thinking. Maybe if she could do it, or not. Finally, she nodded with a small smile. “I’ll try my best.” I smiled back and kissed her cheek. “You are the best.” Her smile grew and she looked at me, like she was waiting for something. A kiss, probably. I was going to kiss her, I wanted to, but instead I chickened out and turned back to my locker. “That wasn’t what I was going to show you.” “Oh..” She sounded disappointed and mumbled a curse word under my breath. I can deal with werewolves, but not kissing my own girlfriend. I was truly pathetic. I pulled out my jersey and unfolded it for her to see. Her face lit up. “Oh my god, that’s so cool! Now, I know who to root for. Number twenty-four.” Her face was practically glowing and I loved it. “I can’t wait for your first game. I can make posters and maybe a shirt..” I was chuckling a bit so she stopped talking. She raised an eyebrow and folded her arms. “What?! I’m excited.” “I know you are, I am too. I’ve never had someone go through that much trouble for me. It’s nice.” Her expression softened and she smiled. Her arms went around my neck and I wasn’t quite sure what to do with my hands. It seemed she was better at the physical aspects of a relationship while I was better with expressing how I felt. We balanced each other out. “It’s no trouble at all. Besides, everyone needs to know you’re taken. Because when you score the winning goal on your first game, all the girls will be all over you. I can’t have that.” I smiled and now was the perfect opportunity to kiss her. All I had to do was do it, she wanted me to and I’m not going to get rejected. She’s my girlfriend, there’s nothing to worry about. As soon as I made the decision to lean in, the bell rang and I sighed. Of course. She smiled a bit then backed away, takings my hand in hers. “C’mon, let’s get to class.” I closed my locker then walked with her to our first class. “Do you wanna hang out after school today?” She asked me. I would’ve loved to spend time with her, but I remembered that Allison promised to train me for Friday’s hunt. “I would, but I’m gonna do… something with Allison.” “Oh, what are you guys going to do?” “Um, study.” Lydia raised an eyebrow. “Do you not know how smart I am?” She joked and I chuckled, softly. “Yeah, but.. if I studied with you then I’d be too distracted to get anything done.” She chuckled a bit. “Okay, fine. Just let me know if you need my help.” I nodded as we approached our class. “Trust me, I will.” Lydia smiled and tried to walk into class, but I stayed put and tugged her arm, pulling her back to me. She looked up at me then I leaned down and kissed her lips, quickly. She looked a little surprised then she smiled. I smiled back then we walked into class as I celebrated in my head. I felt like a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders. She gently squeezed my hand then let go as she went to her seat then I went to mine. Today seemed like it was going to be a pretty amazing day.

Going Against The Code (Part 23)

Lydia’s POV:

Scott and I went back to Derek’s to determine a plan to find Malia. We would’ve come with the whole pack, but we learned early on that our pack didn’t really get along with Derek. I wouldn’t have come if I wasn’t worried about Scott. I didn’t like that we were helping Derek, I didn’t trust him, which meant while we dealt with him, I’d be right by Scott’s side for everything. By the end of the meeting, we decided it was best to pair up and spread out to find her. We’d cover more ground that way. From what Derek said, he was constantly out searching for her, but she never showed up. I was hoping he’d find her before Friday, but I knew that was very unlikely. Especially, since today was Wednesday. “How are we going to pull this off?” I asked Scott as we walked to our vehicles, mine being my car and his, his motorbike. “What do you mean? We just look for her. How hard is that.” I glared at him. “No, I mean once we go out to look for Malia, the Argents will know we’re the werewolves. They’ll be hunting that night.” “We’ll just have to keep quiet and it’ll be so dark they won’t be able to see our faces.” “I hope you’re right..” I said, still really concerned. I was pretty sure Stiles wasn’t a part of the hunts, but that didn’t mean Allison wouldn’t rat me out. Scott stared at me with an eyebrow raised. “What?” I asked. “Are you worried about Stiles finding out?” “What?! Pfft, no. Why I would I be so concerned about that?” “Well, you’ve been spending time with him. Time that I’m not forcing you to spend with him.” He said, a bit suspicious. “Jealous much?” I teased, trying to lighten things. “No, it’s just strange. You nearly killed me cause I made you go ice skating with him. Now, you’re taking him to your secret lunch spot.” “How’d you know?” “You don’t go anywhere else for lunch. I’ve known you for some time now.” I narrowed my eyes at him. “You like him don’t you?” At first I thought he was teasing, but then I could see his face was serious. “What if I do?” He sighed. “Lydia..” “I know, I know. He’s an Argent, I’m a werewolf. This has a Romeo and Juliet ending all over it.” “No, it has a you being dead kind of ending.” He said, raising his voice and drawing me back a bit. He continued, “You’re suppose to be the smart one. So, use your head. The only reason he’s here, is to kill you.” “But he won’t..” “You don’t know that! I would be all for you faking it, but you’re actually falling for him and it’s going to get you hurt. As your alpha, I order you to dump him.” What the hell?! As my alpha? Who the hell does he think he is? “For your information, Scott McCall, you’re my alpha, not my dad. You don’t get to order me around. I could leave the pack right now, if I wanted to. You don’t have that kind of control over me. And don’t you think I’ve thought about that? Of course, I have! But this is huge for me, you of all people should know that. I think it’s worth taking a risk for and, despite what you may think, I might actually be worth something to someone. At least, worth enough to not kill.” Scott sighed and shook his head, slowly. “You know I didn’t mean it that way. I’m just trying to keep you safe.” “By telling me who I can, and can’t, have feelings for?” He stayed quiet for a moment and I moved to open my car. “This will only end badly.” He said and I turned back to look at him. “He won’t choose you over what he believes in. And what he believes is that you are a monster.” “I’ll prove you wrong.” And with that, I got into my car and drove home. I was so angry, which for a werewolf wasn’t good. As soon as I got home, I parked my car then went for a walk. I didn’t even go inside my house. Scott didn’t know anything. He didn’t know about our moments in the locker room and how he promised to never hurt me. It may have seemed so naive to trust him, but he meant what he said. And I knew he would never break his promise. The more I replayed Scott’s words in my head, the more upset I got. Then, I realized I was running. I was running fast and it wasn’t helping with calming me down, but it took my mind off of everything. It made me feel slightly better. I don’t really remember how long I was running, or how far, but something caught my attention and made me stop. It took away all of my anger in an instant and drove away Scott’s words. It was Stiles’ jeep, parked across the street and in front of, what I assumed was, his house. My heart nearly skipped a beat. I looked around cautiously and debated if I was going to go up to the house, but apparently my feet decided for me. I walked up to his car and smiled at it then saw a light come on from a window. I found myself a little more curious then I should’ve been, maybe I just really wanted to see Stiles, but I found a tree that was planted between two windows, the one that lit and another, darker one. I climbed up the tree effortlessly, being a werewolf had some advantages, and the whole time I felt like a complete stalker. What was I planning on doing? Watch him? I was creeping myself out, but I was already there. I glanced into the window of the room with the lights on and it was Allison’s room. I sighed, she was definitely not who I was looking for. It looked like she was doing homework, she was going through a big stack of papers. I slowly moved towards the other window, hoping I wouldn’t be seen, and saw Stiles in bed asleep. I smiled to myself and sat on the branch, leaning forward and lightly tapping on the window. I tapped until he woke up. He was still groggy, but once he yawned and rubbed his eyes he looked over at the window and saw me. He grinned and jumped out of bed, coming towards the window then opening it. “What are you doing here?” “Shhh!” I shushed with a finger pressed to my lips then I nudged my thumb towards Allison’s window. He glanced in that direction then back at me. “How do you know where I live?” He asked in hushed tone. For whatever reason, he wasn’t creeped out at all. He was just happy to see me. I smiled. “I didn’t.” I said softly, he looked confused. I gestured for him to move aside and he did, allowing me to climb in through the window and into his room. He shut the window then continued to smile. I loved that he always seemed to smile. Maybe it was just around me, but if that was true then it made it all the better. He looked around outside and was puzzled. “I don’t see your car.” He pointed out. “How did you get here?” “I walked.” That’s an understatement. He looked surprised so I continued. “I was going for a walk when I saw your car parked out front and.. I guess I just couldn’t resist.” I blushed a little and his smile grew. “Well, it’s great to see you.” “It’s great to see you too.” I smiled and walked over to him and gave him a hug. He seemed confused, but hugged me back just the same. “What was that for?” He asked and I looked up at him. “To get over this awkward transition that we’re in.” I leaned up and gently kissed him. He didn’t hesitate to kiss me back and I pulled away with a smile. “I really like you, Stiles..” I whispered and he smiled his small crooked smile. “I really like you too.” He said back. “I know.” I teased with a smirked. He chuckled, awkwardly. “But there’s something you have to know.” I took both of his hands and squeezed them, gently. He stared at me and nodded. “Okay, you can tell me.” I was planning on telling him about what I was. That I was a werewolf and that I knew he was a hunter, but that I didn’t care and that I wanted to be with him despite all of that, but when I opened my mouth, none of that came out. “I just… I’m bad at relationships. I’ve never really had a boyfriend before so, I’m not really good at doing what girlfriends should.” Stiles smirked and I raised an eyebrow. “What?” “Nothing, you’re just so cute.” I blushed again then he leaned down and kissed my cheek. “I’ve never had a girlfriend either. So, I’m not really sure what girlfriends should do.” I smiled a bit as I listened to him. I loved that he tried to understand me. “Scott doesn’t think we should be together.” I blurted out and he looked shocked. Probably because Scott tried to help Stiles date me in the beginning. “Why?” He asked and I shrugged. “I think he thinks we aren’t good for each other.” I wasn’t lying. Scott did feel that way, I was just leaving some information out. “Well, I know Scott knows you really well, but he doesn’t really know me. Only you know if I’m good for you and I think you’re more than good for me.” I smiled and looked up at him. Was he good for me? I knew that he would eventually find out that I’m a werewolf and that he was sent here to kill me and my friends, but I also knew how I felt around him. I wasn’t ready to lose that, not yet. “I think you could be very good for me.” I answered and he grinned. “Okay, well then.. Lydia Martin, will you be my girlfriend?” I chuckled and grinned up at him, feeling like the hunter inside of him and wolf inside of me no longer mattered. We may were meant to be mortal enemies, but I found that him being a hunter didn’t matter. There was more to him than that and if I just appealed to the other side of him, I knew he’d be able to see passed what I was. “I thought you’d never ask.” I said, softly. Stiles grinned and pressed a kiss to my forehead, holding me in a tight embrace. In that exact moment, I knew I would always be safe with him.

Going Against The Code (Part 22)

Stiles POV:

Because of lacrosse practice, my sister came home later than usual. The benefit of having practice was that I could avoid talking to Allison, but since I was the one with the car, the talk was inevitable. We managed to maintain silence during the whole car ride and I was relieved. I was still pretty pissed off at her and at this point, I didn’t want to hear what she had to say. It wasn’t until we got in the house that she finally said something. “I’m sorry, Stiles.. I’ve been thinking about what you said all day and you’re completely right. I take advantage of you, but it’s only because I’m so used to your help. I forget that you didn’t need to and that one day, I might not have it.” There was something in her voice that it sound like that day was just around the corner. It made me feel strange. Why would ever just stop helping her and my family? They’re all I had. “I’ll never just stop helping..” I said, quietly. “Besides, I don’t have much of a choice. Dad would through a fit if I just decided to quit.” She mumbled something like, “He has no right..” and it confused me further. “What are you talking about? He’d do the same if you quit.” “Yeah, but.. Never mind. I guess I’m just tired of him dictating the both of us.” I shrugged and there was a long silence. I always knew Allison didn’t like being ordered around by our dad, but it seemed like she was trying to say he had no right to do the same to me. Why wouldn’t he? “Hey, I have an idea.” I looked over at Allison and her whole expression changed. She looked excited and like she was about to do something that would probably get us in trouble. I smiled a bit, “What?” “You’re coming on the hunt this Friday.” I scrunched my eyebrows in confusion. “What are you talking about? Dad said I couldn’t go, he’d kill us.” “Not if he doesn’t know you’re coming and if you do a good job. If you actually caught one of the wolves, Dad would have to let come on hunts. The rest of the hunters would insist on it.” I thought her plan over. It could work, but it was risky. If I end up screwing things up then my dad would get an ear full from the rest of the hunters, which meant my sister and I would get it too. “But, you and I both know I’m a terrible shot.” “You’re getting better with a gun. And you’re really good at setting traps. We’ll got out before the hunt and set a bunch of traps and I’ll keep training you with the gun. You’ll be great by the time the hunt comes around.” Allison really thought the whole thing out. Honestly, what did I have to lose at this point? The worst that would happen was that I get grounded, I don’t exactly go anywhere anyways. The only person I’d go anywhere with was Allison, or Lydia now, and we’d always get away with saying it was for the mission. I nodded my head and smiled. “Okay, fine. But if I go down, I’ll bring you down with me.” Allison chuckled and nodded. “Sounds fair to me.” She stuck her hand out and I shook it. We looked at each other and knew our relationship was restored. We never stayed mad at each other for too long. But I could tell something was still bothering her. She let go of my hand and looked down for a brief moment. “I just want you to know that you are my brother. No matter what you, or anyone else, thinks. You are, and always will be, my brother.” I smiled and nodded. “I know, I only said that because I was mad. Besides, even if I didn’t want you as a sister, I’m kinda stuck with you.” I joked with a smirk. She smiled weakly and nodded her head. “Yeah, you are.” She said, unconvincingly. I was about to ask if she was okay, but she spoke before I did. “So, what’s going on with you and Lydia now? Isn’t today the second time you two went to your ‘special place’?” She asked, a little mockingly. I didn’t really have much time to think about what happened between Lydia and I today. I couldn’t quite say what was going on with us. I didn’t know if we were an us. “Well, she kissed me.” Allison’s face instantly lit up. I groaned, she’s been waiting for this moment since I was thirteen. “Really?! Wait, did you kiss her or did she kiss you?” “Does it make a difference?” “Yes!” She said, surprised at how little I knew about the dating process. “Um, I don’t really know. It just sort of happened. I think she kissed me.” “That makes since. You get all intimidated when you’re around her.” “I do not!” Allison chuckled, softly. “But it really doesn’t matter. It’s great either way and I’m really happy for you. Are you two a couple now?” “I don’t think so.” I said, lightly shaking my head. “Not yet, at least. I mean, this barely happened today and I haven’t talked to her since.” “You should probably hold off on texting her. With a girl like her, you come off a little needy.” I nodded, mindlessly agreeing with her. Who else was I going to count with relationship advice? “I can tell she likes you.” I looked up at Allison. “How?” I questioned and she smiled. “I saw the way she was watching you during lacrosse practice.” “Is it like the way you watch Scott?” I teased and she shoved me, lightly. “No.” She said, rolling her eyes. “It’s actually nothing like that. She watches you like she doesn’t mean to. Then, when she catches herself, she looks away like she trying to convince herself not to look back. But she does.” “I don’t know what’s weirder. The fact that you think that means she likes me, or that you were watching her long enough to see all of that.” She glared at me. “I didn’t mean to notice it. She makes it really obvious and that does mean she likes you. It’s just going to be hard to get her accept that.” I slumped down on the couch and sighed. “Great..” I mumbled. It appeared that dating Lydia Martin was going to be a lot more complex than I thought.
