To all Steve/Tony shippers out there: welcome to the I’ll Be There - Steve/Tony Prompt Fest! :D An occasion to celebrate all the Steves and all the Tonys across the Marvel multiverse - that means that MCU, the comics, the cartoons, the videogames, etc. are all fair game! The fest will open on the 1st of June, and run for the next four weeks.

How does it work?

People submit prompts, people make fills, and we all bask in our feelings! :D Anyone who wishes to can submit a prompt to this blog, which will be added to the Prompt List. Prompt submission starts now! Once the fest opens on June 1st, everyone is free to pick any prompt they like and fill it with fic, art, gifsets, edits, fanmixes, videos, headcanons, or any other type of fanwork! To help with inspiration, the fest will have a different running theme each week - if none of the prompts catch your eye, just go with the Theme of the Week!

Week 1: Civil War Week 2: Multiverse Crossovers & Shenanigans Week 3: AUs Week 4: I’ll Be There

There’s no obligation to only submit/fill prompts related to the weekly theme - as I said, they’re there for inspiration!

How do I submit/fill a prompt?

Prompts can be written or be a song or a picture, as long as they are about Steve/Tony! Only rule is, please try to keep them on the short side - no more than the length of an ask! Prompts can be either sent via ask or submitted to the blog - anonymous prompts are also welcome!

When you fill a prompt, all you need to do is tag your posts with #illbetherefest, and your fill will be reblogged by this blog. You can also submit your fanworks directly via the submission box, or reblog a prompt post and add your fill underneath (in which case, make sure you also @illbetherestonyfest so I can track down your work!).

And that’s it, folks! Let’s spread the word and have some fun! :D If you have more questions, there is a Rules and FAQ page with more detailed info, but also feel free to just ask!

I was asked if I watched cap 3 and I did. It was fine, but being a non-US citizen, I feel like Steve’s reasonings were weird, and that they should have kept it US-only issue without involving the UN.

Because in what wild dreams does Steve think that we, as in the rest of the world, would have ANY trust in a team of American superpowered dudes lead by a guy wrapped up in American flag?! In superhuman people that constantly breach international borders without anyone’s consent on their untraceable private vehicles, and kill people/destroy property? What is he going to do, beat us so we agree with his agenda, maybe send a few drones?

Now imagine if it were Captain Russia thawed from the Soviet Union era, wearing a tricolor flag costume, leading a team that have the power to wipe out half of the goddamn planet. Why would people from other countries be concerned if said captain refused to obey the law, pissed on the mandates of the United Nations and fell off the grid to save his Soviet war buddy that happens to be a goddamn assassin?!

And then people who try to make themselves accountable for their actions in front of the world are the villains?

While this is good argument, now if you look at this from Steve’s point of view, the UN/Govt can send these megaton bomb of Avengers (aka thor and banner etc) anywhere they want with this Accord. Whats to say tomorrow the UN decides to send them to middle east or something? What if tomorrow the UN decides to blow up a city to prevent a disease or alien invasion? What if tomorrow the UN is hijacked by Hydra? Would the Avengers have any say in where to go and when to go? No. The Avengers will have no agency whatsoever even if they feel UN is doing something wrong. Similarly, how Bucky didn’t have any agency in where or when to operate or not. Avengers would be in pretty much same situation as Bucky being the Winter Soldier if they sign the Accords.

In short both teams have compelling arguments and I’d give it to Russos that they made the fandom argue and think about this. I suppose that’s the thing they wanted to achieve with this movie and they did it.

Well, the global community didn’t interfere with anything until the Avengers killed people while hunting down an ordinary human criminal. Avengers had time to travel to another continent but didn’t bother to call Lagos authorities and mention the threat so they could send the SWAT team? It seems that the world doesn’t necessarily want to control superhumans, it wants them to cooperate with authorities and to stick to their area of expertise, which is explained in the document that the original Avengers actually signed:

Article Two: Jurisdiction

The Avengers, as a group, are enpowered to act as an agency of enforcement on duly recognized and approved missions in all lands, territories and protectorates of member states of the Uinted Nations, providing that the threat in question is super-powered, extra-terrestrial, extra-dimensional, sub-terranean, sub-oceanic, or occult, and engaged in an invasion, infestation, limited incursion, piracy, enchantment or any flagrant violation of international law not instigated, sanctioned, or abetted by a member nation.

Like it wasn’t even a question for Steve Rogers to disobey the will of several billions of people and shit on national sovereignty of 100+ countries it’s just so out of character it’s baffling. Then again, au is au

I got several asks which I’m going to reply to here (and no, I don’t hate Steve ok I hate what was done to him).

It just surprises me that so many people agree with Captain America’s disturbing foreign policy (because it just became foreign for no good reason), and that mostly only people from other countries felt uncomfortable. What also concerns me is that people are okay with letting a dangerous group do whatever it wants on foreign lands just because the leader is supposed to be a nice patriotic guy. I went expecting to see Civil War (as in a conflict within the confines of one country), not a justification of imperialistic foreign policy parroted by one of the characters I happen to like.

Regarding the paranoia around this fictional UN being controlled by the US, I think people tend to forget that Wakanda is not some backwater dirt poor country, it’s a powerhouse perfectly capable to stand on its own and not be influenced by the US. The Accords were compiled and drafted for several years by shitton of smart people representing 193 member states. It basically looks like Steve just shat on all of the countries and the document carefully crafted and approved by thousands of people, deeming them incompetent idiots compared to his perfect genius self (and you know who also wasn’t a part of marvel’s UN? Our conflicted pal Doctor freaking Doom, they can ponder upon the injustice of having to respect sovereignty of other countries together now lol). Steve Rogers wouldn’t have put himself, or anyone else for that matter, above the international law.

Besides,

Like, it NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN AN ISSUE to begin with, respecting the will of all humans on Earth shouldn’t have raised any moral dilemmas in Steve.
