like it is--one of thee wildest parts to me is that sam wasn't... I mean no okay he was suicidal. but he wasn't like wed to the concept of his own immediate death. he was probably clinically depressed and he was extremely willing and ready to die in order to prevent future harm to others, but his expressed wish wasn't just To Die as an end in itself and he literally out loud twice agrees that no okay he'll live then. (I think this is muddied later by the way dean and sam both talk about these moments like dean forced sam to live, but genuinely onscreen he didn't. he asked and sam said okay. dean's requests have an outsize impact on sam but dean didn't actually prevent sam, in the moments he was just verbally asking, from dying. right up until he does force sam into something.)

so i mean. what happens onscreen isn't 'dean prevents sam from committing suicide and that's a problem.' it's 'dean prevents sam from dying in the line of duty, which is fine, and then when sam almost dies anyway dean reviews sam's dnr form which says "okay you can bring me back except not if you have to do it with this one drug. i've tried that family of drugs before and it causes me physical and mental anguish so severe it's not a circumstance I, a rational adult person, am willing to live in. so in THAT case I'd rather not be rescuscitated." and dean, who very specifically can talk to sam because that is how he accomplishes this entire thing, tells the man in a lab coat he found in an alley "ok i'm going to distract him and you pump his veins full of this stuff. we're not going to ask him whether he feels differently now or is willing to try it this one time. he just told me he wants to live so maybe he would budge but we're not consulting him on this. I WILL be holding him down." and then they both kept doing that for months despite the fact that they could at any point have asked sam hey, you seem loads better, do you think you'd be down to try this lifesaving drug now or is that still a hard no?" and that is. in fact. a problem.'

really would like to emphasize that sam had agreed to live and wasn't simply devoted to the idea of his own death. so they could have. asked.

Being a young adult is so strange. You enter a coffee shop. The 20 year old girl waiting behind you cried all night because she just came to a new city for university and she feels so alone. That 27 year old guy over there works a job he is overqualified for, he lives with his parents and wants to move out but doesn't know what to do about it. That one 24 year old dude already has a car, a house, and a job waiting for him once he graduates thanks to his dad's connections. The 26 year old barista couldn't complete his higher education because he has to work and take care of his family. The 28 year old girl sitting next to you has no friends to go out with so she is texting her mother. That couple (both 25 years old) are married and the girl is pregnant. The 29 year old writing something on her laptop has realized that she chose the wrong major so she is trying to start all over. We are not alone in this, but we are actually so alone. Do you feel me

The funny thing about nikki being an isekai protag is that she didnt even start like that. There was a whole 2 games where she was a normal girl in her normal world and then they decided to trap her on some doomed planet for 3 games

bro bro.... the s15 directing could have been so good. characters looking directly at the camera more and more, the lighting changing continuously, the screen glitching whenever cas is present, the screen sometimes blacking out and you can only hear the voices, we could have had it all. ..

#There should have been a scene where they're all sitting round a table like you do on tv#So only 2/3 of the table is used so you can leave room for the camera#But then cas just sits down in the space that has been made#Unaware of the Rules of being directed#With a whole scene with his back to the camera and we miss crucial god killing plans because of it#And so Chuck also misses those plans#I want Cas to have gotten in the way so much because he doesn't follow the laws of making TV#Cas is off screen and you hear him talking about something super important and showing Sam and Dean some sigil he found#And the camera tries to pan round to him but is like magnetised to the winchesters so it keeps snapping back to them#As Dean becomes more aware of the fact that they're basically gods favourite sitcom he looks directly into the camera more and more#You see people having normal conversations and he's just furrow browed staring into the lens#On the precipice of knowing of seeing#But never ever able to voice it#Sometimes chuck decides to rewrite a scene so you see the same tiny bit of a scene twice when he realised he didn't like a certain line#But Cas is like uh you just said that Sam?#They can't TV light cas and that's why he looks so haggard and ill in s15#Bc the studio lights simply don't work on someone who exists out of the narrative#spn

@aheartofgold hi for the love of god hello

my favourite scene in the drama is when Soichiro is meant to have a wholesome flashback to Light's childhood and it literally cuts to Light running around with a toy gun shooting imaginary people, trying to be just like his daddy.

and now he is.

Kira is what happens when the concept of being a cop reaches its natural, logical conclusion

seventeen year old creature-boy Light Yagami, who is Totally Interested In Women And Definitely Not A Serial Killer, looks at porn magazines (porn magazines is generous; he's looking at scantily clad women, really) in the privacy of his own room and is so supremely weird about it that L, the man that has been Intently Observing Him Through Hidden Cameras, sees him doing it and goes, "oh. something is wrong." meanwhile, Light is internally monologuing himself into a frenzy. "ha!! take THAT. what're you gonna do now, L!? I look SO normal!!" but he doesn't. he never has. he never will. he's just used to everybody around him being too distracted by his artfully styled bangs and extensive collection of soft knitwear to notice his incredibly off-putting demeanor. he is So used to it, in fact, that he doesn't quite grasp that someone might find the image of him lounging around on his stomach and kicking his feet in the air while he stares at breasts to be. a little different. maybe even. disingenuous. oh no. shock and horror, shock and horror.
