That.

He needed that.

He needed Angus in general, but hey.

Gregg wraps his arms around the other’s neck, to pull him a bit closer as he returns the kiss.

After a few seconds, he loosens the hold, and pulls away.

“Thanks, cap’n.”

He felt so sluggish. He knew it was because of the heat, but God. Everything felt slow today. He felt slow today, and he practically did nothing all day.

And that was pretty much his job. To sit there, doing nothing, save for when a customer happened to show up. And today had been so slow, he felt like he was bad at doing nothing.

He hated today. He just felt like laying sprawled out on the couch drinking cold soda for what remained of it.

Time for work. Even though he didn’t feel like going. This weekend had passed by faster than usual, and you couldn’t convince him otherwise.

“AND I THINK YOU’RE GORGEOUS!”

“Well gee! Thanks!

Am I gorgeous enough for you to help me out with the cleaning?

I mean, I’m almost done. Just need to spray some nice smelling stuff around the apartment. And light some scented candles that match the can’s scent.”

“...Okay, yeah! I can do spraying stuff and light candles!”

That seemed easy.

Of course it had been sunny all day, until it was time to finish work and go home.

And of course it had rained the hardest for the short trip he had to get home.

Of cooourse he’d picked today to wear a grey shirt.

And of course. By the time he’d changed out of his wet clothes, the rain had gone from pouring, to tiny droplets.

Maybe he could have waited it out at work. But he didn’t want to spend more time there than he already had to.

No harm done, but still. There was a grumpy dog with a towel over his head on the couch.

“Yeah, but you think a lot of things that aren’t true about you!”
He gives a light squeeze to the belly before moving his hand away.
At this point, he was just staring at Angus. How he moved, and how cute he looked, and how nice it was to see him enjoy the sun.
Going out today, and further from town, had been a good decision. Any worries he had seemed to have melted away, at least for now. It felt good.
It’s only when the bear speaks again that he snaps out of his thoughts.
“We’ll keep that in mind for next time! Thought if you want, we can just sit in the grass for a while.”

“Whether or not they’re true, I guess depends on who you ask.” Angus shrugs. “I don’t know. I believe one thing. You seem to believe another. I can’t really argue with you, because it’s all based in opinion. If there were like, some hard facts, I’d totally be up for debating it. But how someone looks is totally subjective.”

He didn’t agree with some of the fashion choices people made, but those people apparently loved what they were doing. Who was he to ruin that for them? Comments could really hurt. Angus kept comments like that all to himself, like any polite person would have done.

“That sounds nice.” The bear says, before easing himself into a sitting position. Now he was definitely feeling cooler. The grass was a comfortable temperature. His arms rest on either side of his body, his open palms against the soft, plush grass. His gaze is on the sky. A blue sky was still beautiful to look at. Way better than all the rain they had been experiencing.

“It’s a nice day.”

“I guess so! But you know as well as I do that society has some pretty crappy and untrue opinions on things! And sometimes that can shape your own opinions! Or, uh, outlook on things. And it can be pretty negative if you’ve been insulted a lot about it.”

One day, he hoped, Angus would get a bit more confident about his appearance. Self confidence felt nice. Especially on good days.

He sits down next to the bear, placing his hand over the other’s.

“It’s a very nice day. I hope we get a lot of ‘em. So much rain made me feel like...emotionally woozy.”

Waiting was awkward. There wasn’t much to do, other than find something to stare at, or fidget with his phone, doing nothing of importance. Granted, he didn’t wait long, but this was Gregg. He didn’t like sitting around doing nothing too much.
He lifts his head when he hears his name.
“Casey!!! Aaaah!!!”
He waves his arms, as if the other was lord knew how far.
“Dude!!! Are you doin’ okay???”
Image

“It’s nice to see you again, Gregg… Lemme just  catch my… Breath real quick.”

Making a mental note to get back into the habit of exercising, Casey would       straighten up and take one final deep breath, letting it all out in a sigh as       he’d shoot his friend a grin. It was nice to see Greggory again, he found       that he had actually missed him quite a bit…

“Yeah, I’m doin’ alright. Just a bit winded is all,  kinda fell out of practice, y’know?”

Image

Deciding to omit the obvious part for right now, Casey’d straighten up and       gesture towards the door of the Diner,

“Let’s get some grub though, I’m starving.”

“Geez, no kiddin’!”

He was pretty sure getting winded like that had to do with being hungry as well. Or at least, that’s how it worked for him. If he was really hungry, he got tired pretty easily.

“C’mon!” he gives Casey a pat on the back “Maybe we should get two pizzas, instead of one! Unless you want somethin’ else?”

He walks inside, and immediately goes and gets a seat. That was one of the very few things good about living in a small town. Places like this diner were never crowded.

“Ok look, I will eat the glittery bits, and you can eat the rest! I don’t want you to have to toss away food you wanted to eat!”

Shoves the glittery food in his mouth.

*TOSSES GLITTER INTO UR FOOD* AESTHETIC

“No! No, you’ve ruined it!

God damn it.”

He didn’t find that very appealing. He’d wanted to eat that. Angus didn’t cook to look at pretty food, he cooked to eat the food. Or he cooked for someone else to eat the food. You couldn’t eat glitter, that wasn’t safe. Now his stew was ruined, and he was certainly not happy about it.
