Made yet more changes to my aspiration assigning method, and some related things too!
I used to assign the primary based on zodiac sign, but then use Sophie the puffin's calculator with the A and B versions of each aspiration (ie: Family can be either "strict parent" or "huge family") to decide which flavour, and to assign the secondary aspiration later in life.
I did this because I like knowing very early on what their aspiration will be one day, and I was worried about using a calculator that factors in interest points if they will change later in life (which they can). But I did a little more research on it, downloaded a mod that changes a bit of how the interest points work, and just realized who cares if the interests will change if I used to assign it without taking that into account at all?
SO - now I'm just using Sophie's calculator for all of it. Anyone who already has their aspiration assigned is keeping it the same, but I'm going through and calculating future aspirations for all the toddlers and children and I'm already seeing a more diverse spread of aspirations vs. the only personality based zodiac system! Which makes me excited!
The other change I'm making - I was letting a lot of family Sims (primary and secondary) max out their aspiration reward tree and get the super fertility benefit. I hadn't realized that actually increases the chances of twins to apparently 50%?? Which seems insanely high to me. I feel like there are way more twins in Brightmaple than make sense for such a small population now.
So now, only Sims with the Family B primary aspiration (huge family archetype) will be able to have that benefit! Which should make twins a little more rare like I think they should be.
