kuroo sees you again in a bookstore.

well, not really you. your name. and when he picks up the book—the hardcover—and flips it over in his hands, he sees you. a little professional portrait that you must’ve taken after college, with foliage in the background and your hair framing your cheeks and a smile that doesn’t quite reach your eyes.

you’re older. and he is too. he’s stopping in a bookstore after work, christ’s sake, looking for something to remind him of you—a shitty YA book you complained about, a collection of hemingway’s short stories, a book of poems. any of them, anything at all. at twenty-five he still yearns for college, and he hates that more than anything. he shouldn’t want to go back to shitty student apartments in shitty cities with shitty food from half-stocked grocery stores. kuroo’s life is good now, with an apartment that’s too big for one person and recipe books that he’s never opened laying on his counters—

but he wishes anyway. and part of him knows that it’s more the extension of you, and maybe of his youth, than it is of the time itself.

so he looks for reminders of you in every bookstore he enters, and today, just today, he found the most obvious one of all.

poetry section, a poetry collection, a book with scrawling lines over the cover.

oikawa pressing slow, open mouthed kisses on your neck, mumbling “yeah?” as you tell him about how your day went cause he can’t fucking control himself <3

tooru,” you complain, fake protest dying in the gentle feel of his lips.

despite knowing, oikawa pauses, glancing up at you from your chest. his lips quirk upwards—a smile you’ve always loved—before he presses a quick peck to the corner of your lips.

“go on, baby. i’m listening.”

𝐏𝐈𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐋;

kita shinsuke x f!reader ➵ contents: in which you start crushing on a stranger in a photo

it’s on a slow day when your curiosity finally gets the better of you. your cleaning had taken you close to the wall next to the cash register. it’s dotted with picture frames- celebrities, the boss’s brother, special occasions, the boss’s brother again. ever since you were hired not long ago, you’ve quickly learned to recognize who the regulars are. you’ve never seen anyone gulp down rice balls quite like miya atsumu does.

there’s one frame in particular that always catches your eye though, and you can’t count how many times your eyes have wandered to it. it’s not particularly eye-catching compared to the clientele that the wall boasts, but it’s unique in that it’s one of the few that wasn’t taken in the restaurant.

“what’re ya gapin’ at?”

preview: set fire to your heart

release date: Friday, 15 July 2022, new chapter every friday pairing: miya osamu x f! reader  genre: romance, angst, fluff, inarizaki shenanigans  wc: 55k and growing  summary: miya osamu is dared to set fire to his heart.

It’s the faint smell of smoke that sets off Osamu’s alarms.

He’s already closed the shop for the day, released his staff early even though ‘Tsumu and the kids are still sprawled across the expanse of his wooden counter. Because - well, if Tsumu’s decided to use him as reinforcement to look after his kids when Kaiyo (Tsumu’s long-suffering wife, the one woman with enough steel in her spine to make Miya Atsumu behave and act like a decent human being) is away on some fancy work dinner, then he can damn well help him clean up the shop instead.

‘Sides his staff deserve a break from ‘Tsumu’s spawn-lings.

if there was one thing that tsukishima hated most in the world, it was karaoke.

with akiteru’s cringy antics during volleyball games following after, karaoke was an embarrassing abomination—an abomination that sadly, tsukishima’s friends were obsessed with.

“come on, tsukki, just this once,” yamaguchi whined, to which tsukishima responded with a roll of his eyes. yamaguchi was adamant on getting his best friend to this weekend’s karaoke session, going as far as to discussing it during break from practice, which was supposed to be quiet time. tsukishima was now exhausted from both the intensive exercise and the endless nagging.

“i’m not a singer.” tsukishima muttered, pushing his glasses further up the bridge of his nose. “you know that i don’t like to sing, much less in front of everyone.”

just as yamaguchi was about to come up with yet another retort, hinata jumped his way towards the pair. “hey! what are you guys talking about?” tsukishima fought the urge to roll his eyes once more—how was it that some people had limitless energy—as yamaguchi answered: “just getting tsukki to join karaoke.”

“you should come, tsukki! it’ll be fun! kageyama’s coming, so is our new manager.”

at the mention of you, tsukishima raised an eyebrow in mild interest. he couldn’t help but steal a glimpse at you, who was in the middle of discussing practice schedules with kageyama. jealousy flashed in his eyes, before dissipating as quickly as it came. what had gotten into him?

hi everyone! cel here

ik a while back i said that i would return w a piece sitting in the asks, but the time away from tumblr made me realise how unhappy i was w my blog at that time

truthfully, i was thinking of quitting tumblr all together bc it was becoming a vv exhausting environment, and everyone that made my time here worthwhile were also leaving the platform

however, i've decided to stay and just start anew by archiving all my posts. old pieces will be reuploaded in batches w new formatting and revisions. i'm cr in the process of doing this, and won't be uploading anything new til i'm done w archiving

couldn't be more grateful for all the support i've received here, and looking forward to getting back to you all <3
