Directory of downloads

Since Tumblr is now where I share my stuff when I do share, I suppose there will come a time when scrolling through would get tedious for you, the reader, and Origami suggested I make a directory post to make it easier for people to find what they may want. Great idea, so here we are :)

If you have problems you can reach me through discord, my username is gummilutt. You can also find me in the discord server Sims Crafters (click for invite). PM on MTS will reach me, but discord is fastest :)

For more of my creations I also have a library of 84 uploads over on MTS, mostly game mods with some bodyshop and the occasional lot sprinkled in. My username there is gummilutt :)

Custom food commitment is a thing of the past!

I want to highlight a creation by someone else today, because I think it's super cool and very useful to the community! Have you ever wanted to use custom food, but were put off by the fact that once in, you shouldn't technically remove it because it creates broken memories and tokens and whatnots? Do you have food in that you wish you could remove but don't want to because of those aspects?

Well fret no more, because jonasn has posted an updated version of his Memory Commander, that now has an invalid food removal option under Mass Deletion.../Remove EVERYONE'S Invalid Food. It cycles through the entire hood, removing memories where the food subject no longer exists, leftover plates that are empty (does not include apartment lots, or secret society lot) and fave foods referring to non-existing dishes. It could already sort of do it for one Sim at a time, but now it can do the entire hood all at once! How amazing is that?!

I was a tester for this function and it's been working perfectly in my testing. That said, please know that I am in no means an expert on corruption or anything such. To me this seems like a great tool that is super useful, but use is at your own risk. I've run a number of tests for jonasn on the functionality, and he's done what he could to verify the outcomes to see it's all good, but as with anything complicated there's always a slight possibility that there is something you overlooked. The object pops up a dialog that informs you how many things were removed, and if you exit lot without saving then the actions aren't saved, so I recommend just testing it if you are interested :)

Aside from this one function, the Memory Commander is also basically a one stop shop for anything memory-related you could possibly want. It can assign any game memory, it can modify existing memories to change subject etc. You can even assign other custom memories with it, as long as at least one Sim has gotten it in the hood. It's such a handy tool for anyone that likes memories, and as you know, I am memory obsessed so I am a big fan!

Here's what I got! Feels pretty cold as a palette but there's some warm colors too. I think I like it, there's a bit of everything in there. You could say, a bit like me 🤭

(apologies that my name isn't in the pic, i did generate the palette with it. it's just that the internet can be a bit scary sometimes 😬)

Tagging @littlelittlesimmies, @gummilutt and @mdpthatsme, if you guys are up for it! If not, that's a-okay too 😌

What an interesting use of AI! I went with the shorter version of my Sims name, and here is what I got.

I get sunlight and summer sunset skies, which I'm not mad about! I'm more of a blue or green girl, but every so often I like a good peach or yellow, so I'll take it. Very warm tones, which I'm all for right now. Winter begone I say, bring on the sun!

Thanks for the tag @latmosims :) I'd love to see what @teaaddictyt might get, will there be tea tones in there perhaps? And @chocolatecitysim, will there be chocolate tones?

Hi Gummi, I just want to say: thank you for being so helpful and kind! Your willingness to answer asks and resolve conflicts in such a supportive way is inspiring to me, and your mods are a welcome addition to my game. Thank you for taking the time to make and share your creations, and to offer support for them! Much love and respect, Random Anon.

Aw thank you for the lovely words, they are most appreciated! <3

I sometimes feel bad that I can't offer as much support today as I once did, I'm still working on figuring out the balance of my health and Sims 2 community. So thank you for being so sweet and telling me, it's nice to hear that someone feels I do a good job of it still :)

Hello, just want to report a conflict with your Crystal Ball Computer Dating Mod. It conflicts with Nopke's Novel Writing Progress. STR: 0x012E - MakeActionString prim string set (0x7F441294)

Avatar

Thank you for the conflict report!

UPDATE: Nopke has released a new version of the mod that no longer conflicts with Crystal Ball Dating. Please re-visit the original post to grab this new updated and less-conflict prone version! :)

This one is very easy to resolve as it's only a text string edit. Here is a compatible version of Nopke's mod. Because mine adds more entries to the conflicting list, it is much easier to make theirs compatible with mine rather than the reverse, so that is what I did. You can remove the original version of Nopke's mod and use this one instead. It needs to load after Crystal Ball Dating package :)

Please see original post by Nopke if you are interested in this mod and want to learn what it does. Make sure you go thank them if you like it :)

Hello :) your Stuffed animal enabler and autonomy fix with traits incorporation mod naturally conflicts with Simler90's Toy Stuffed Animal Fix in their Toy and Game Mods. It sounds like Simler90's makes some pretty great fixes so I was wondering if any of them are or could be incorporated into your mod, and if not what the load order should be? Thanks :)

Avatar

Hi! Thank you for the conflict report. While simler90 has popular mods, too many come with constant updates. For that reason, I am not interested in attempting to make compatible versions with mods of his because I can't rely on it being the final version and I don't want to be in the position of constantly updating mine to fit.

But I am absolutely happy to provide information to help guide load order choice! :) I had a look at UPDATE1 version of ToyStuffedAnimalFix, and right now the only conflict is conditions under which talk through interaction may happen.

My edits: - No autonomous talk through use is allowed if the stuffed animal is placed on a slot - Children can only talk through to toddlers - Autonomous talk through only available to teens, adults and elder if 8+ playful personality or have the nurturing trait Simler90's edits: - Removes asleep or off-lot Sims as options for the talk through interaction, preventing Sims from trying to talk to a Sim they can't actually reach to do the interaction - Limits autonomous use of interaction to 7+ playful Sims The other parts of our mods do not conflict, so you can use both. If you load mine last, you will get my edits and lose the two he adds, but I already cover his personality-related edits so what you lose is the removal of unavailable Sims as options. If you load his last, you will lose my edits mentioned above but you will still get the enabling functionality and changes to carry and play with.

Please note that children float when talking through to Sims older than toddler, which is why my mod limits their options to toddlers only. So if you elect to load simler90's last, you will potentially see floating children because my safeguard to prevent it is no longer there.

His edit to remove unavailable Sims as options does make sense, but it's not a scenario that has ever come up in my game so I do not at this moment feel that is something that needs to be added :)

If this is something you experience a lot in your game, I would really encourage trying to learn to merge mods. Guardian test edits like this one are a great place to start, in this case I would recommend merging his edits to mine because there's less to move over that way. A lot of the time merging mods is not that complicated, you don't have to understand the code to replicate it, you really just need to be able to compare and see what changes one or the other made, and then emulate those in the other one :) Some basic understanding of bhav editing buttons in SimPE and patience is all you need.

Update to Crystal Ball Dating

Small update to Crystal Ball Dating is now out, where I fix an oversight in the first release. I forgot to add tests to disable the interactions when the computer is broken, so they would show up even though they can't be used. MORE PINBOARDS! With !NEW! Hobby Enthusiasm Gaining Mesh!

Hello! I did a series of hobby-themed pinboard designs a few years ago on the 3t2 large pinboard converted by amovitam. Today I bring you 20 new designs for more specific sub-hobbies, and a new mesh made by @picknmixsims that allows one to set a hobby to gain enthusiasm in when viewed! Very bespoke! What's more is that if you re-design the board to another theme, there is a pop up that reminds you to re-set the hobby to match.

The boards can be used on community lots as well and set for hobby enthusiasm gain without resetting once your sim leaves! How cool is that?

If you don't want the modded mesh you can grab the deco-only mesh from my other download. If you want the updated mesh please replace the old one if you already have it. They are the same GUID so you should only have one. New Mesh and 20 Recolors - DOWNLOAD

I love decor and clutter that allows me to express the personality of my Sims, and this is such a great way to bring in their hobby interests. There are some fun alternative ways to view hobbies, and the fact that it's modded to give accurate enthusiasm is icing on the cake :)

Multi-key dorm door mod add on for diagonal dorm doors

I have a quick little random drop for you guys today. Hanging out on @kashmiresims stream today we found out that BoilingOil's multiple dorm door key mod does not work for diagonally placed doors. This is because BO forgot to give the menu options to the diagonal version of the door. It's a very easy fix, so I went ahead and fixed it so any of you that use it can have doors placed however you want :) Now you will be able to assign keys to other Sims even if the door is placed on a diagonal.

You still need BoilingOil's original mod, this is an add-on not a replacement :) They do not conflict, so load order won't matter. No known conflicts, would conflict with mods that alter pie menus or action strings of the diagonal version of dorm door.

Credits: BoilingOil, Charmful/Rachums, YokaiShrift who was the one to point out the issue was the diagonal version of the door

Aw fun tag! Thanks for choosing me :)

Random fact about me, I like balancing objects on each other for no reason other than seeing if I can do it. Boring day? Walk around the house with something balanced on one finger, and see how long you can keep it up. Cheap entertainment, and you might get a party trick out of it. Or maybe I'm just weird, who knows!

Hi, I really like your open & closable AL Gear City windows mod, and a lot of your other recent mods too, thank you! I was wondering, would you ever consider making it so that it does affect the temperature of the room? Such as the open one decreasing sims' body temperatures like the ceiling fan does in Simler90's Temperature Mods :)

Avatar

I'm so glad you like it! At the moment I do not have plans to make it impact Sim temperature, but I am working on a 2.0 that will feature automatic closing and opening based on outdoor temperature and weather :)

How to repository clothes using the Repository Wizard (duh)

I wrote a tutorial on how to use the Repository Wizard for clothes. It covers the utility's basic usage, as well as providing some more "advanced" tips and explaining what the program does for you.

Hopefully this can help anyone who's been meaning to give it a try a helping hand to dive in. It's really simple to use, and it can speed up the time spent preparing all the packages, and not just when repositorying stuff (thanks to the Standalone mode).

If that interests you, here's the link to that:

@sims2tutorials could you please archive my post? 😇

I should mention that the tutorial was put together before v2.3 which added a small advance feature. Therefore the tutorial won't cover it, but I plan on updating it soon and as often as I can.

Anonymous asked:

hi, i don't know if you take requests, but i'd love it if you could update your invisible medicine cabinet mod to add the interactions to any sink. is that something you'd be willing to do? sorry if not!

Hello! :) I don't generally take requests, but I do sometimes get ideas from Hacks & CC that you'd like to see!-thread on MTS. I know other modders do as well, so that's always where I recommend people go if they have mod dreams :)

But your question is not really a request, and more a follow-up question on an existing mod of mine which I am more than happy to answer :) What you are asking for, is something I have already made, so that makes me wonder if you perhaps have missed the 2.0 version of the invisible cabinet? :) You'll find it here. It's a replacement to the original invisible medicine cabinet upload, that instead creates a clone along with a global mod that makes sinks detect the clone.

If you are already using 2.0, and the option is not showing up, the most likely problem is a custom sink that was made poorly. Sinks should not have their menu in the package, they should pull from the sink semi-global code which then picks up on the mod I made. But back in the day it was fairly common to always include menu regardless of how EA set up that object, and when made that way the object is limited to whatever EPs the creator had when they made it. The medicine cabinet was introduced in Apartment Life, so a lot of old CC made that way won't have menu options for it if made the wrong way :) All you need to do in that case is open the package of the sink, and delete the TTAs and TTAB resource from the package (right click -> delete -> save), to allow the object to use the sink semi-global as it should :)

If you were using a maxis sink, and it still did not work, I recommend running HCDU+ to check for conflicts with the global mod from invisible mirror 2.0.

Hope that helped! Feel free to reach out again if you have follow-up questions :)

Today I bring you a creation I made for @kashmiresims / @ch4rmsing, whom you can also find streaming on twitch under the name Rachums. She wanted a way for her Sims to online date, and asked if I could move the Crystal Ball functionality by twojeffs to the computer. And it turns out, I could indeed! So today what I have on offer for you is an add-on mod for the computer that adds the Find a mate crystal ball functionality to the computer, meaning your Sims can hop on any time, find Sims they have great chemistry with, and thanks to the sims magic, have that Sim appear next to their computer ready to be greeted and romanced! For extra realism, changing the settings on what type of Sims you want to see as options has to be done by your Sim, so it's like they are setting up their profile for what they want, before they browse. The interactions are not set to be autonomous.

I have also made an updated version of my edited Monique computer (more info on what I edited previously can be found here), with this interaction added (you still need the mod as well). Some of you might be using Midge's more computer options which among other things added the gypsy matchmaking interaction to the computer, I also have a version that is compatible with that mod. If you use the Midge mod, grab the compatible version instead of the standalone. Yay flexibility and options!

The mod will not impact custom computers, if they have an internal menu. If the menu does not have custom options it needs to keep, you can probably make it compatible by going in and removing the TTAs/TTAB, and making sure the interaction table ID in OBJD is set to 81.

Some info: The "existing relationships" and "gender preference" settings are a little misleading. They apply to the target Sim, not your own Sim. So turning on or off gender preference, controls what sort of sexuality the target Sim has. Existing relationship refers to Sims who are married or the like, so whether or not you want to see only single Sims as options, or if Sims in prior relationships show as well.

Conflicts: Conflicts with Midge's "More Computer Options" mod, if you use that, please download the compatible version and make sure this mod loads after Midge's mod. Also conflicts with inteen package B, if you want to use this please make it load after inteen. I do not want to make a compatible version as I don't know exactly what inteen changed, and there's already multiple versions which gets confusing for you guys to figure out which to get. Not worth it :) The only thing you lose from inteen is whatever changes it made to computer menus. Load order will not help if there is a conflict not listed here, my mod needs every part to work so it either needs to be resolved, or you need to pick which one you want, like with inteen. Conflicts with the original release of Nopke's novel writing progress mod, if you have this conflict please revisit Nopke's original post to grab the updated version of the mod that does not conflict with mine, and is less conflict prone in general :) Thank you Nopke for resolving conflict!

Credits: @kashmiresims for the idea and the lovely thumbnail, twojeffs for the crystal ball code imported to computer, @midgethetree for the use computer framework I used for the interactions, monique for the computer, chaavik for the AL version of computer

Sims 2 Tools - Repository Wizard

The Repository Wizard is a utility for automating the repository technique for objects and clothing.

Object Mode

This mode of the Repository Wizard automates the process described by HugeLunatic in their Repository Technique tutorial.

Clothing Mode

This mode of the Repository Wizard creates new re-colours for a new/modified mesh based on an existing mesh with its own set of re-colours.

This is NOT the simple approach to the repository method of linking the dependant's TXMT resource(s) to the donor's TXTR resource(s), but a new, more advanced, approach of linking via the 3IDR resource.

See the application’s web page for extensive details about both modes.

If you do not know what the repository technique is, or why you would want to use it, this application is not for you!

DBPF Library - Critical Fix

This affects the Object Relocator and Outfit Organiser apps with resources that include accented characters.

Tracked down a bug in the DBPF Library when saving STR# based resources (STR#, CTSS and TTAs) that contain accented characters. The issue was that the length of the string was being incorrectly calculated and written out too short. This caused either an attempt to read off the end of the .package file, or an attempt to read an invalid UTF-8 character as the reader ran on to the next resource. Both outcomes cause the string to be truncated a few characters early.

  • Fixed bug when writing strings with accented characters in them
  • Allowed for EOF exception when reading broken strings with accented characters in them
  • Allowed for bad UTF-8 character exception when reading broken strings with accented characters in them

The fix not only squishes the bug, but also includes code to alleviate any problems introduced.

Apologies for that.

Many thanks to lucydique for help in resolving this

What do you think?

I was on @teaaddictyt stream yesterday and she used a window by Shakeshaft, that I have a unreleased edit of, doing the same thing as I did with the AL window where you can open or close the shutters :) I hadn't planned to release it as it seemed a bit niche, but I guess people still like em, so I will try to get those posted eventually.

But, Tea also mentioned she loves auto open/close stuff, which is such a great idea that I just hadn't thought of yet. So now I'm planning to also implement an auto open/close feature on both AL, and the Bourbon set by Shakeshaft that has shutters.

For my own game, I'm thinking I just want shutters to close at night, and open in the morning. No seasonal changes, and add a pie menu toggle to turn off auto open/close. Possibly limited to open version, as if you picked closed you probably want it to be closed and having manual control in pie menu is enough. For AL window, I'm a little less decided. I'm thinking maybe edit only the open variety, and have it set to close in winter, and maybe if I can get fancy have it check temp in spring to be open or closed depending on temperature, and always open in summer. That way people can use the closed version when they don't want auto-open/closing, and if they have previously placed open ones in apartments those will close in winter at least.

If anyone has thoughts/opinion I'd love to hear under which circumstances you would want a window to open or close, and shutters open or close. I can't promise I will do it, but I'd love to get a feel for what people actually want so I can try to somewhat match that :)
