I googled it once and the only reason why the Great Lakes aren’t called inland seas is because they are entirely freshwater, not salt.

By any other metric they’d be seas. Superior especially (the big one in the upper left) behaves like a small ocean, and has claimed at least 250 ships and over 1000 people. Gordon Lightfoot wrote a frankly chilling song about her that I’ll include here:

so every night my cat Astro has a little ritual where he will 'tuck' my wife and I into bed.

this usually happens around 11pm on the dot, where he will start to meow at us and demand pets. My wife will usually go to bed first, led by Astro, where he will let her pet him, but he won't be happy until I get into bed too (I sometimes stay up later). This makes mr. Astro boy not so happy, and my wife says he'll look at the bed with just her for a few minutes before running off to fetch me

He will. Not. Stop. Meowing. Until I shut off the computer and go to the bedroom with him. This is a nightly thing. This little boy will not let me stay up! I have to go 'one second!' as I'm shutting things down before going to my bed and laying down. He will then proceed to nuzzle us and give us both cuddle time for ten minutes before fucking off

My cat has figured out a way to get me to go to bed on time. I love this for him

they should do an MMO where everyone is a shapeshifter and you can go live with animal herds in the wild if you want for a time but you are never entirely one of them, noting that the wild animal npcs partake in behaviors with or make calls to one another that you may not understand the logic of but can try to learn to repeat the musical cadence of. this is true of even the human npcs, whose musical language is the most intricate and complex to learn of all and who will ostracize you readily if you do not use it properly. other players are not marked as players and there is no chat feature. as an elk you may not know if the wolf chasing you is an npc or another player who does not know the same of you, and there is no chat. maybe the players would develop a sort of musical cadence to identify other shifters. no one would like this game and it would not be fun. but i would like it
