i just realised, angels have bird features, and lucifer likes ducks. he is a ugly duckling.

thinking about how katniss's capitol wedding dress was adorned with pearls, like the pearl that peeta gave her on the beach-

the pearls on the dress were likely considered 'perfect', chosen to look flawless (perhaps they were even synthetic like most things in the capitol). they were overbearing, countless - fake. they were a representation of how the capitol viewed their love. they were forced onto katniss, so she could feel little but disdain for them, like how she felt about peeta at the beginning of their relationship.

but the one that peeta gave her matters only because it was his gift - the last remnant of their love and what their marriage could've been. but the love in that pearl was real, not the sanitised capitol version - it was simple, imperfect. it was one pearl, not a burdening mass of them (he didn't expect marriage, kids, or even a romantic relationship with her - it didn't come with the heavy attachments she grew to believe love inherently came with). it represents katniss finally starting to realise her true feelings for him.

it was a gift, not a condemnation, and that pearl allowed katniss to somewhat reclaim her feelings, to love on her own terms.

i genuinely love that the hunger games is in katniss’s pov bc shes the one character that has no clue about whats going on, clearly does not want to be there, and shes just walking through life in a permanent state of utter confusion. and idk i really relate to that.

I love that in Catching fire Katniss comes to the conclusion the other tributes are trying to keep Peeta alive because they must see how amazingly perfectly wonderful he is. When in actuality that’s just her having a crush and everyone else recognizing that if Peeta gets hurt Katniss will go fully feral and unhinged and probably try to kill everyone and then herself.

nothing brings me more peace than knowing that katniss everdeen spends the rest of her life eating warm cheese buns and being held every night by a man who loves her more than life itself. she deserves everything

Being overstimulated is such a weird thing to explain to people. Like "hey sorry, I'm not mad at you and this is nobody's fault and I'm not blaming anyone for it happening, I am aware this is a part of regular everyday life but I am mentally crumbling because There Have Been Things Happening nonstop for 5 hours straight back to back with no breaks, and I really need to sit down in complete silence for like 15-25 minutes, after which I will be completely fine and can proceed as normal. But if I'm not allowed to have that, I will resort to violence."
