Hundreds of Jewish anti-war demonstrators have been arrested during a Passover seder that doubled as a protest in New York, as they shut down a major thoroughfare to pray for a ceasefire and urge the Senate majority leader, Chuck Schumer, to end US military aid to Israel.
The 300 or so arrests took place on Tuesday night at Grand Army Plaza, on the doorstep of Schumer’s Brooklyn residence, where thousands of mostly Jewish New Yorkers gathered for the seder, a ritual that marked the second night of the holiday celebrated as a festival of freedom by Jews worldwide.
The seder came just before the US Senate resoundingly passed a military package that includes $26bn for Israel.

Boyd being vaguely disgusted by how oblivious Liam is to his crush and being more than happy to ask Brett out himself when given the opportunity.

And not just because he hadn't clocked that the Devonford Prep kid he kept beefing with was also a werewolf.
Oh no. That, Boyd could forgive. He probably wouldn't have managed it this soon after Derek turned him either.
Liam not clocking his own damn crush on the guy? That was inexcusable. Especially with Mason literally drooling over guy right next to him and *still* not staring as much as Liam.
Boyd might have let him through to tackle Liam once or twice. Just on principle.
"Oh, that looks like it hurt," Boyd chuckled as Liam's little rival tried for a third tackle. He put the kid solidly on his back. Flashing his eyes, Boyd smirked down at him, "Gotta little overconfident there, didn't ya, pretty boy?"
Throat bobbing, the other teen just stared up at him. Blue eyes fluttered, wide and bright, before flicking over Boyd with undisguised interest.
"So, you think I'm pretty?" he panted, voice thick as he sat up. He hissed, eyes flashing gold, as his shoulder snapped back into place.
With a snort, Boyd got back into the game. Devonford Prep still won, but it wasn't the landslide they'd been expecting. On his way to the parking lot, several glares were aimed at him from the bus.
"Hey!" a familiar voice shouted. Boyd paused, turning to arch a brow. The other werewolf stood beside the bus, arms crossed and chin up. His hair even fell into his face a little. The same way Isaac's did.
On purpose then, given how much time Boyd had seen his friend take to twist his curls in just such a way to fall how he wanted. He spent longer than Erica did on her hair, and she had significantly more of it.
"I'm Brett," the younger teen offered. He quirked his head. Boyd waited, eyebrow still arched. Biting at his lip, Brett stepped closer.
Boyd blinked as a piece of paper was offered to him. He took it, brow furrowing as he took in the ten digits scrawled across it. "What's this?"
"My number," Brett said, walking backwards toward the bus. He laughed and ruffled the hair on the back of his head, "In case you still think I'm pretty, without the helmet."
"I ain't blind," Boyd drawled, head moving pointedly down, then back up as his eyes swept over Brett. He was tall, almost as tall as him, with long limbs and a lithe build.
Pretty was an understatement.
Brett's cheeks grew pink as he laughed. A smile stretching across his face as he ducked his head. Boyd tilted his head back, gaze rising back to bright blue eyes. Brett smiled.
Unlike Liam, Boyd had some self-awareness. A little emotional maturity. And access to a car.
"You free Saturday?"

the Columbia University arrests are worse than they seem. They're arresting protesting students for trespassing. It goes without saying students cannot meaningfully "trespass" in the common areas of a university they attend. So Columbia University has suspended all student protestors from their institution, in the process revoking their access to housing, their belonging, and most crucially damaging their academic futures. We are witnessing full scale silencing and removal of anyone of conscience from the next generation of academia.
beyond that the columbia common is literally an open space during the day; the gates are open and it's possible to pass through it like you'd pass through a regular block. even after my student ID expired i was still able to walk through the commons bc ID is not requested until you enter an actual building. it's quite common to see parents, toddlers, and such who are clearly not enrolled just hanging out. so not only were the students not trespassing at a SCHOOL THEY PAY FOR, there was also not a precedent for non-students to be disallowed from the grass and walkways.

Another reason I want more Addams Family with the 90s cast is I think it would be so nice to see Morticia uncorseted and aging gracefully. I don't think she'd go full Grandmama but do you really think an Addams is afraid of wrinkles and cellulite?

at morticia's 50th birthday party everyone's making Over The Hill jokes with the same envious joy you would celebrate your cousin's hundred million dollar lottery win. the "hill" decorations are various piles of rats, bones, garbage, severed limbs. there's a lot of chains and stolen crucifixes around instead of party streamers. the cake is a graveyard hill and they cut it with a visibly filthy shovel.
'one foot in the grave' gomez tells his wife, actively crying, 'and what a foot!'
morticia has the first slice of cake (it has a little sugar grave on it). when she finishes her delicate spoonful and smiles, the camera zooms in and we see she has spontaneously developed crow's feet. off camera is the sound of her husband really unsubtly orgasming.

Got a comment on Trembling Eyes about Jace taking his "pervy uncle" to Dragonstone. I immediately had to write about Rhaenyra finding out. ^^" Not technically a sequel, and I kept the ages ambiguous, but I tagged implied underage on Ao3 just in case.

She'd given Aegon permission to live his life as he saw fit. Go where he wanted, do what he wished. After their father's death and their - thankfully short - marriage, Rhaenyra had decided she would turn a blind eye to his life choices. Just her father had done for his brother when she was a child.
It had been a kindness. A charity, given his hedonistic tendencies and his... notoriety, in certain circles, regarding his preferences.
Especially after all the time he'd been trapped on Dragonstone without an outlet. Constantly fighting with her eldest son as Jacaerys worked through his grief.
She'd pitied her little brother, wanted to help him. Provide him the freedom he'd been denied.
That had been a mistake.
