Miley Cyrus is literally pansexual and I believe genderfluid as well? She is literally queer and identifies as queer. You are literally being queerphobic.
So she married a guy, big fuckin whoop. It may appear to be a hetero relationship but when one or more person in that relationship is queer it isn’t fuckin hetero anymore. I am bisexual and my bf is bisexual, there is nothing heterosexual about our relationship whatsoever.
She LITERALLY says “queer person like myself” and ya’ll just flat out IGNORE that and call her straight because that’s how much you hate people that don’t fit into your narrow idea of what gay/queer looks like.
Ya’ll are being queerphobic and because what? You hate her or something? I’m not even a fan of hers at all but at least I don’t deny people their identities bc I don’t like them. Pathetic.
The whole interview this quote came from was her saying that gender (her own or other people’s) doesn’t really matter to her, and she believes that it’s the same for a lot of people her age - that a lot of people fall in love and get married with gender having zero impact on their relationship.
Which is, you know, a pretty genderfluid, pansexual kind of perspective on things, wouldn’t you say?

So, this has come up a lot lately and, while this data is old, bisexual individuals make up over 50% of those that identify as LGB. While there might be reasons for this that I am not going to take the time to delve into, it is such a shame that a large percentage of a group that has been historically harmed by erasure is literally erased by other members of the group. And even if bisexuals WEREN’T a majority and were just a SLIVER of the fucking LGBTQ+ pie, there STILL IS NOT a reason to exclude them. And the same for all this goes for pansexual individuals. So, this will not be relevant to anybody that follows me, but I finally am fulfilling a dream I’ve had since I was younger to own Warhammer 40K minis and build my own army. I used to get too embarrassed at the thought because it always seemed to be part of uber-nerd culture, but I am so fricken pumped to suck at painting my own tiny platoon of demented space monsters. It’s great.
@strictlyamess/@skeletonscribbles tagged me and I don’t think I’ve ever done more than a handful of these things, so I am going to flip the script and kind of just do it the way I want to. Preemptively, I’ll say that I find this incredibly difficult, as I don’t really see myself as a character in fiction and I don’t think I would ever want to be a character in fiction. As such, I am focusing on 3 positive traits that I feel I have and characters that I think embody them.
Three characters I am like prompt, sort of:
1) Positivity / Cecil (Welcome to Night Vale): An odd/controversial pair right out the gate, but I feel like Cecil best represents positivity. The fictional town of Night Vale is, supposedly, adjusted to the strange and occult that occurs, but the optimistic outlook of radio news host Cecil still shines through and matches what I feel is a trait I aim to always put forth. Ever since I was young, I have been a happy person. And while there have been times that I have fallen off the path or what have you, I definitely admire people who have a positive outlook, or at least one that says, “tomorrow will happen, I’ll be around to face it”, and that is what Cecil is to me.
2) Fictive Kinship / Samwise Gamgee: Platonic love is something I feel is not brought out into the open often enough. I love all my friends. Deeply. And I think Sam is probably the fictional character that best represents loving a friend as much as you possibly can. For all my friends reading this (aka the, like, two people who follow me that I talk to in real life), I love you all, a lot.
3) Unabashed Enthusiasm for whatever / J.D. (Scrubs) – This is probably also the character I think best represents me. J.D. is a loser, nerd, weirdo, whatever you want to call him. He still gets appletini's and wants to finally perform his and Turk's screenplay for Dr. Akula. I like to think that in recent years I have come to better express myself for my passions, instead of being afraid of the judgment or stigma that comes with some of them. I love J.D., and if I had to pick a character to compare myself with in total, J.D. would probably be the closest thing. Scrubs is a great show that really handles comedy mixed with drama well, and J.D.'s flawed character is probably the one I see myself in the most.
So yeah, 3 traits, 3 characters, 3 random snapshots of my personality with obvious bias. Also, Sean Astin’s character in Stranger Things, Bob Newby could fit probably all of these characters and he is awesome.
