Portrait of the royal couple :>

Zukka arranged marriage AU, except Zuko is engaged to Mai.

I'm still figuring out how I want to colour comic panels... i'm kind of dubious on the muted style

WOW, we've been totally FLOORED by the overwhelming positive reception to our first date poll! Blowing kisses to all our fellow horndogs. It looks like we're settling in for an October event 😘

Soooo... please vote for the October weekend you'd like the event to be held on! Since this event includes separate but concurrent events for both commenters and creators, both are now invited to vote! 🗳️

the thought of sokka just being so into zuko using dual swords and when sparring he gets distracted bc /gods he looks so good and he's unfairly talented what the FUCK/

and zuko is soooo oblivious to it he just gets confused until he's mad at sokka for not training properly

I will never understand antis who say that Aang is too “immature” for Katara, but then they think he’s mature enough that he should have murdered Ozai (never mind the fact that even if Aang was Zuko’s age or older, the writers still won’t have Aang do that, because Avatar is an all ages cartoon).

It’s because they view pacifism and Buddhism as childish ideas and beliefs. Aang doesn’t do any of the things he does because “he’s 12 and a child”, he believes these things because his culture and people are modeled after actual culture and religion.

Saying “well he’s a child, he shouldn’t have to kill because he’s a kid” misses the point of what the story is actually conveying. Yes, Aang is a child, and it’s fine to acknowledge this. But he doesn’t refuse to kill Ozai because of his age. He refuses to kill Ozai because that is a sacred tenet of his culture. The story’s conclusion is far less about Aang’s age and far more about upholding his culture and people’s beliefs in a world that took it from him and in the face of a man who believes it is worthless and weak. The entire story is ultimately about this culture and these people who were murdered, and how said killings were seen as just and good because of a view of superiority, both racial and cultural.

The writers and bryke would never have had Aang kill Ozai not because of his age but because it would put his character arc, as well as the entire narrative of the story that everything revolves around, in complete shambles. It would make the entire story meaningless. It would send a message of “Yeah, Ozai is right to believe Aang’s culture and people were undeserving of life and he was right when he said it was inferior”.

a baby firebender must be the worst to raise

all the normal problems of raising a kid, plus the fact that the little shit can set their crib on fire if they get mad

Simon going from “I can’t tell when Baz is mocking me” “he always looks pissed or sadistically amused or disgusted” and “only has two emotions” or whatever (Simon brainwashing himself into a simplistic Good vs Bad mindset with everything aside, and Baz having a bad case of resting bitch face is probably not off the table) in CO to “he looks so unimpressed with me which makes me want to jump him and inhale his oxygen” or something unhinged like that in awtwb shows that the big issue with Simon has always been that he couldn’t tell how Baz truly felt about him, how Baz really saw him, which drove him crazy… and he was reacting to assumptions. Baz looking like a mean little bitch? A turn on. That was never a problem, actually. Simon was always into it. Always has been! But here the difference is assuming the guy hates your guts when he’s looking like that vs knowing he loves you.

UH tiny little design + lore for the fire nation’s patron spirit. or something. Like a Tui + La situation

inspo taken from @lazyveran ‘s twin sun god au (<- bare titty warning btw 🙏🏼) AND depictions of the Hindu gods Agni + Rama. So. And I’ve named him Agni

Extra notes

- his heads can fuse together to symbolize solar noon, which is actually extremely freaky for everyone

- genuinely tweaks out whenever there’s a solar eclipse. He can’t stand it. He needs to kill his twin (or Yue, depends on the time)

- believed to be the ancestor of the fn royal family, much like how the Japanese royal family is/was thought to be related to Amaterasu

- aside from being the sun spirit, he is also considered to be the spirit of war and as well as the cycle of life. Despite one of his things being war, he would strangle sozin with his bare hands if he was able to

"Aang is a static character and he doesn't change since season 1"

Oh ok

Yeah he's exactly like season 1. No difference. No growth. No character arc.

Mind you, he’s a "static character" because he never changed his ideals. The audacity...
