Hypnotic Musings

@tennfan2 / tennfan2.tumblr.com

I like hypnosis. Like, a lot. 18+, you should be, too. "It's like you're middle class Bruce Wayne with this whole secret identity except instead of chasing down insane criminals you're doing sex things in the suburbs."

My recordings (& me)

It seems like an intro post is a thing now, so... hi! I’m Tennfan. A lot of people seem to find my blog from my hypnosis recordings, which makes me very happy! They are all (with updated links, because there was An Issue) available in the “noises from my mouth” tag.

I also have a Soundcloud where they all live in a more organized fashion, as well as a YouTube channel where most of my files live!

As for me, I’m an elder millenial who really, really loves hypnosis. It started as a hobby/obssession/geekery when I was a kid, and it never really stopped. I eventually found hypnokink, and while that’s certainly something I like rather a lot, it’s also not the end-all, be-all of hypnosis for me.

I’m cis male (he/him), demisexual and grey-asexual. (If you ignore the A in LGBTQIA+, then fuck off. Respectfully.)

When it comes to hypnosis, I’m very switchy, with a pretty solid lean toward the subject side of things these days. I love trance for the sake of trance, but I also get a huge kick out of playing with memory, being compelled to tell the truth, and tropey fun stage-y stuff.

I’m a regular attendee (and presenter) at kinky hypnosis conventions (which are really damn great, and you should go to them). I’ve been at this a long time, and I’m always happy to talk about hypnosis and trance. If you message looking for play, be ready for the answer to be no - I’m a little picky about who I play with.

I know folk like to listen to audio files and stories to fall asleep to.

To let themselves be carried away into sleep by comfort and words.

But I have to say, that pales in comparison to doing it live.

To finish a session with a darling and then use my ribbons and magic to send them off to sleep.

And she's asleep~

I'm happy to report she had a lovely night sleep, and even used her drone programming I wrote with her to get things done

yesssss

so wholesome

reminder that kink doesn't have to be all hard dom/sub dynamics and shit like its perfectly cool to just be some people trying weird shit out and seeing what you like and having fun

I’m doing an ask thing over on my BlueSky, and one of the prompts was for a song I’m listening to a lot right now. Figured I’d share it here, too.

Mountains in the Mist

“Several times unconsciously I've stumbled on the path/

And seen a mountain in the mist./

As rain falls on my shoulders, sun rises in the east/

I'm worn and bruised but I am here at least.”

I really like the new file! Starting with the yes sets that were definitely not yes sets that were definitely yes sets was so clever. The sort of like the confusion section was so good, like it was utterly bizarre in a way that completely made it past my 'i know what you're doing here' sort of feeling I have with a lot of confusion inductions. Here frankly I had no idea what you were doing (i sort of remember something uptown downtown... main street?) and by the time i had any of that even half-processed it was well too late for me. Well done! Your voice is so nice to listen to as well, i really didn't want the file to end ^^ This was so relaxing and I'm sorry if i'm not the most coherent right now! Thank you for making another file!

Thank you! I had a lot of fun just getting super weird in the confusion part. Silly *and* (seemingly) effective!

Just noticed the "I make hypnosis noises sometimes." description on your soundcloud and it's taking everything in me not to laugh so hard i'd wake everyone else i nthe house. It's so well-phrased, so matter of fact, but definitely an entirely original sentence and words i didnt expect to see in that order and it's just. perfect. 10/10 no notes

Strangely enough, this sentence actually refers to the fact that when I sneeze, it actually sounds like binaurals.

When a character who normally has a silver tongue and a quick wit is speechless.

When an expressive character who wears their heart on their sleeve goes still, face blank.

When a character who is quick to solve problems with their fists drops their hands to their side, frozen.

Just the sudden absence of something that is always there, in both the good and the bad.

Gone in an instant.

New file: Hypnotizing the Hypnotist!

It’s a new file! It’s on YouTube and SoundCloud!

You're way too smart for the same old hypnosis tricks, right? You'd never fall for the obvious traps and tropes. Or maybe...

This is a custom file I made for a friend of mine who's a notoriously good hypnotist, but it's really fun for anyone who loves a good confusion induction. It plays with the idea of outsmarting someone who's been around hypnosis a while. Watch out! It might catch you off guard!

There's conversational and confusion elements here, with some fast talking and duplicitousness. No post-hypnotic suggestions other than to feel good after we're done. There's one allusion to being touched on the arm.

As always: I work for feedback! Please let me know what you thought (or didn't think) about this one!

Listened to Will Work For Feedback and I am so impressed with how good it is! The gradual slide down into trance with the pacing you used in the file is so natural, and what's really stirring my neurons is how toward the end when you're giving the feedback suggestion, your voice has this incredible knowingness to it. There's just that extra bit of intentionality, the amount of time spent on the suggestion, your pacing, the sound of your voice, it feels like not only do you know exactly what you're doing, but that you know that I know that you know exactly what you're doing and you know it's going to work and that is just so. amazing. It's that certainty that really drives it into my brain. I like leaving feedback just kind of in general for a number of reasons (not to invoke a 'be the change you want to see in the world' classroom poster but...) but after listening to this file, I feel not only like I should and would like to, but also that it's inevitable. I enjoy listening to your files so much, and I think both your voice and delivery are so pleasant, and your diction and timing are perfect. The subtle but significant shifts in all of these to draw forth the intended effect are so skillful! You're genuinely one of the best hypnotists I've encountered on the internet (and thus at all) and I'm continually impressed by your knowledge and implementation of the subject

… holy hell, this is really nice. Thank you!

(Fun fact, I have probably gotten less feedback on this file than any other I’ve made, which is both ironic and scared me off putting suggestions in my files for a *long* time.)

One of the local radio stations somehow ended up with the ability to syndicate the old AT40 on Sundays. I used to listen to the countdowns on highway trips back from my favourite place. That's so long ago now, but your Top 40 Countdown file brought me back to that sort of feeling, so thank you.

I like the details you included. The letter, the dedication, the thanking the producers at the end. It shows your commitment to emulating a countdown radio show very well, and I think that's really cool.

I really enjoyed the snaps. They were so clear and certainly effective. The stuff you did with the number 12 really fried my brain, and the rug-pull of the 7 8 9 joke setup and deviation was terrific. I'm still halfway out in the stratosphere from it

I'm very curious about something. The graphic for the youtube video has the station as 93.21 FM. Do those numbers have a special significance? Meaningful numbers are interesting. Did you choose it for a specific reason?

It's a really good file. Thank you for having made it.

Thank you for this!!

First off, the file was 100 percent AT40-coded. Like, debated doing the whole thing in a Casey Kasem voice but couldn’t make that be hypnotic.

I’ve been a satellite radio fan since like… 2003? A long time. Anyway, they used to play old AT 40s on the 70s and 80s channels, but it was just a raw feed of what was sent to stations, so there would be audio cues to the stations, notes on future programs, occasional moments of like… 5 minutes of interstitial music. It was really weird and liminal and I fell in love with it.

This is all to say, it makes my heart happy that you picked up on the many ways in which I was going for that very particular vibe. And your compliments about my tricky stuff also make my day!

The 93.21 thing was actually the “station” for all of the radio shows that we made across the Hypno Collective! If you go to the site, you can hear all of them. There’s a ton of good stuff there.

Thanks again for this message, anon! What a good way to start the day.

Ask me things.

I’m home sick today, and this feels like a fine excuse to ramble. Ask me hypnosis stuff! Get weird on anon! Or say nice things! Tell me files you wish I would make!

The ask box remains open as I remain primarily in bed! Responding to stuff made my day yesterday! More, please?

Anonymous asked:

ok so your stuff is REALLY good. just listened to The Art and Science of Fractionation and your presentational delivery is so impressive. i found your speaking skills and lesson structure so engaging and not JUST because i was being hypnotized lol. you sound like you're an experienced educator and I admire how you're able to convey that so well in your file in how you speak (really i'm trying not to be a little jealous! ^^ How do you make your words sound so engaging?)

I mean, first off, thank you so much for this! That file was incredibly fun to make.

I’ve spent a *lot* of time in educational settings in my life, so I’ve had a lot of chances to sort of absorb good teaching/presenting cadence. That helped me make that feel more lesson-y, I think!

Also, when I’m not making online hypnosis files, I talk to people, like… very much in my vanilla life, so that also helps. It’s hard to explain, but for it’s like talking normally, then turning the dial up 15, 20, however percent. Slightly higher highs, slightly lower lows, more emphasis on words that need more impact.

For files, I also very much visualize myself talking to one specific person as opposed to shouting into the void. Like, I imagine their reactions and I react back.

(There are actual professional educators and actors and voiceover people reading this right now being like, “this guy’s an idiot.”)

Anyway - thanks again for this note! It made my morning!

Re: the "chef's special" ask, that vibe definitely comes through in your files, and has been very neat.

Additionally: scrolling through the answered asks and hitting WOE PACKAGE BE UPON YE. Amazing.

Feel better soon!

That damn package post made my week. (and thanks! I'm hoping that between today and the weekend I can get back to something semi-functional)

Brain not here for requests or similar but I will say that your... I guess the terms would be "casual, straightforward, and theory heavy" hypnosis style is very nice and works very well on me. I look forward to whatever you upload

Avatar

"theory heavy" made me actually laugh out loud (in a good way). In some bio somewhere I describe my stuff as "hypnosis for hypnosis people," and I stand by it. I feel badly sometimes that it probably makes some of my files a little inaccessible/esoteric since you kinda have to be into it for them to make sense sometimes. I'm glad you like it, and I'm glad it works for you!

Every hypnotist has that "chef's special" suggestion/routine that they have perfected and made their own. What do you consider yours to be?

Avatar

I have perfected literally no things! But if I had to choose a general *vibe* that I’m good at it, it’s making people feel safe. I recognize fully that it’s essentially the least kinky possible trait to have as a kinky hypnotist, but it’s my sweet spot.

I want the people I play with to feel safe, cared for and appreciated for their trust, and I am very damn good at that. I feel very lucky to have been told a couple of times by folks who have gone on to find really fulfilling and good experiences as hypnokinksters that playing with me early on helped them realize they could enjoy this stuff.

Are you still a University of Tennessee fan? (That is the story behind your name, right?)

Avatar

It is, in a roundabout way! The name comes from a geocities webpage about football I started in high school (and the associated yahoo address), which eventually became the burner account I used to sign up for and lurk around hypno stuff, which was the name I had on Hypbook when I decided to delurk, and here we are.

But yes, I remain a Vol For Life.
