Renata had good sense to throw a pillow over Lucas’ lap, but she didn’t need to, since his arousal was already long gone. “It’s common courtesy to knock, you know,” he snapped gravely, neck and chest with a distinctive scarlet flush – he was embarrassed. Who wouldn’t be ashamed getting caught pre-coitus? Lucas had a devil-may-care nature, but he was human, too. Come to think of it, however, he wouldn’t have reacted as much had he not harbored a set of inexplicable… feelings towards one of the girls in the room, and it wasn’t the brown-haired bombshell kneeling between his legs.
Renata stood up from the plush carpet and dusted off her knees. Her hand then retrieved Lucas’ as she leaned down to whisper in his ear. “Poor baby. Don’t worry, I’m still all yours at the end of the night.”
A part of him felt appeased by the words, yet another part, one hidden deep down, wished it was Thea whispering in his ear, and not her. He huffed a breath to clear his thoughts.
Unfolding his long legs, Lucas stood up from the couch. His hand snaked around Renata’s waist as they faced the other pair as if the blunder didn’t happen just a few seconds before.
It was Renata who first spoke. “We’re all adults here, so let’s act like it. We’re going to enjoy dinner without speaking of this again.” She gave both Charles and Thea stern looks. And then, she flashed a confident smile. Meanwhile, Lucas just stood at Renata’s side, watching her clean up the mess with a Queen’s dignity. How badly he wanted to kiss her right then and there, but that would have to wait. There was a tall, broad-shoulderedfucktardin front of him whom he needed to assess.
“ I’m surprised myself!! ” Trying to shook off the feeling of disgust, along with the image that she couldn’t forget within that split second. Partly, it had made her sad as if he was hers whom she felt a loss with, felt betrayed and cheated. “ Old habits just don’t die that easily, you know! ” She said in her defense, internally screaming.
Something about the way the woman that knelt before him made the blonde infuriated. Her features were a standout, not to mention the perfect, proportionate woman in which she would be anticipating as his own type. She could feel a little bit of her confidence crashing down on her by how much of a knockout she looks, and could feel she could never compete with a woman that is as hot as a solid 10.
Meanwhile, the older and taller companion of hers only resigned to a sigh. The unexpected had caught him off guard of the sight of the two, playing tricks, but had almost blocked the blonde’s line of sight by a simple grab onto her. He knew her that much that she wasn’t going to let it go that easily, especially to the one she calls ‘love’.
As for payback, his hand rested on the littlest of Thea’s waist just like he used to back in the day when they were a thing. It came off as friendly; a simple gesture to tell her he was there. “ The brunette is right. ” Agreeing to Renata’s words, “ We can all agree the scene was fairly inappropriate with our timing and everything, but let’s just put this all behind us. ” Looking at Thea before the two who were caught in the act, told off everyone and apologizing on his and Thea’s behalf.
Thea on the other hand looked back at Charles, understanding his language, even It had took her the time to take all that in, and just shaking it off. Nevertheless, the blonde agreed to not speak more of it despite that her mind already formulated insults that she may yell as her initial reaction to the event. After when she composed herself well, she uttered with a smile, holding Charles’ strong arm to be chained with, “ Well then. Dinner. Lead the way. ”
